    It's funny, I'm turning 60 in a month and a half. I went to college in the 80s and was a total "punk", mullet and all! I kinda grew out of it, but miss having a "style". I've been coloring my hair all different colors and love it! Now I am adding some funky hats. I really love black lipstick, but I'm not brave enough to wear it for everyday. Just around Halloween. I appreciate what you said about "just do it"! That's so true. No one else cares what you wear. Live and do you!! Be proud of your style!! Thanks for this video and your channel!

    I agree with other commenters, try a pink wig to see what you like... so many shades of pink! And it's funny you say bangs in regards to my question about traumatizing haircuts... I'm so jonesing to get long bangs again with long layers overall. It could be my downfall 😂🤣 but I'm tired of just 40+ inch hair doing nothing but sitting in a bun on my noggin'!

    I'm poc and tend to be really protective of my natural hair and curls so I refuse to do anything that might damage it, but wigs come to the rescue when I want fun colors and straight/ heat stylings.

    First of all- Hello Dolly !!!!! Yesssss.... and Hocus Pocus of course. Lol I totally get the red head thing . My mom was a natural red head who dyed her hair blonde. I was born blonde ( thanks dad ) but ALWAYS dyed my hair . The red gene ( thanks mom ) always messed with the process. But my mom passed away and I decided to EMBRACE the red , in honor of mom. Been every shade but settle with "Dark Italian mom red " lol .
    My HUBBY Pointed out that ALMOST every You Tuber I watch. IS A RED HEAD . Lol .... love the tutorial. I use to do the vintage look for years ( still love that day in disney) Mom was a real 50s babe but now I'm too lazy, it's jeans and a t-shirt or boho vibe. Until OCTOBER of course ! Thanks for posting !!!

    Yes! I’ve always felt like a redhead! I’ve been getting my hair professionally colored in a ginger/copper tone for many years now too. My natural is a mix of light brown (with red undertones) and a lot of gray. I started getting grays in my early 20s like my mom did. I dated a ginger and he thought my hair was really mine. So I pull off the red perfectly. I did do mine at home for a few years in college (money reasons) and the color I used was copper penny. It worked beautifully but I was already red! But it destroyed my hair’s health.
    My stylist now just does my roots and a gloss on the rest. Just like you described it. I did get some highlights around my face yesterday though which I’m loving. I have been told by several of my students that I look like Winifred Sanderson. 😂 yay Bette Midler!

    I have short 5inch hair that naturally does not want to hold a curl so I use the two smaller size rollers and when it's not bleached will roll from towel dried hair-sopping wet😅 and give it a full 16- 24 hours to dry so I can get a few days of curl and even now I do it pretty wet but I only do it once a week, dry curling it the rest of the nights

    I'm a natural redhead but aging fades the color as well - there are two kinds of red - blue red (kind of cherry?) and copper red. I'm a copper red. My perfect color is box color! Loreal Excellence Creme in the shade 6R has worked great for me and I get compliments all the time, including from hairdressers. I'm sure if you are going from dark to red its definitely a salon visit for best results, but thought I'd share!

    Your hair behaves so well!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I used to roll my hair exactly in the same pattern with vintage hot rollers (my moms from the 60s lol) and then just shake my head out upside down and hairspray and then flip it back up. I miss the curls! I stopped using the sponge curlers when I was a teen because of the dang crease lines so that tip of the clips was genius! I’ve been wearing my hair mostly straight the last handful of years but I think I wanna give curlers a try again…loved this ❤ it’s hanging out with a friend while they get ready ❤❤❤

  • @JulyMoon82
    @JulyMoon82 Год назад

    I love sponge rollers. I've been using them off and on since I was a kid. Several years ago my old job had a classic Hollywood themed holiday party, and it was the perfect time for me pull out my rollers and dig into my Ava Gardner inspiration with my black pencil skirt and peplum top. The way I do I my roller set, is after washing my hair really well, I moisturize my hair and let it air dry until damp, then roll and put on a satin bonnet to let it set overnight when I'm asleep. I have naturally curly hair being mixed, and that's the method that works for my hair. I use satin lined foam rollers, for any other curly girls that were looking for any I found mine at Sally's.
    I love that you express the importance of good skin care, and that makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath. I think in this age of social media, heavy makeup, etc., beauty standards have changed beyond unrealistic for a lot of young ladies. Skincare and haircare is absolutely more important than anything we do to make ourselves "pretty". By the way, your skin really is very nice an the red you've chosen for your hair looks great with your skin tone. The vintage look you've landed on really suits you. I love that you keep your natural Brow shape, it's fitting for your face shape. So many people focus on channing their Brow shape without realizing their natural shape is what fits their face better, and all you've really gotta do it's fill them in.
    Finally, I enjoy how soothing and calm your voice is, even when you get excited. I think my cat does too, because he came and sat with me while I watched this, and he fell asleep. He was so peaceful. 😄
