Food mechanic is why I stopped playing TW games. It made sense in Shogun, as in that period food production was more important than trade.
It does not work in any other game

Excellent beginner tutorial. Just bought on Steam last night, so nice to get some tips before playing a campaign. Are you familiar with the Total War: Warhammer series? If so, are the army movement/battle commands the same in Rome 2? If so, the learning curve for Rome 2 just got much easier for me. I was a bit confused in the Prologue battle screen by the army formation options. Do you have any other video that explain these in more detail? Many thanks! :)

Thank you for the tutorial! Now I can actually win battles without getting annihilated when I have twice the number of troops as the other army (I found the secret is to move the difficulty slider down when I start off). Very helpful tutorial!

I played Total War Medieval 2 for hundreds of hours. I played the Warhammer versions of Total War and picked it up no problem. Yet Rome 2's interface is Greek to me. Why do they insist with each new Total War on making the unit icons more indistinguishable and the city building incomprehensible? Sometimes simple is better.

  • @714KH

Thank you so much man. The game just throws a bunch of text and a few spoken words and expects you to understand everything and win, even on easy. It almost turned me away from the game And I really want to like it.
