- The dream of playing for your country can often be overshadowed by the reality of being dropped, and no one has known this better - in recent times - than Henry Slade.
Despite experiencing this crushing realization before the World Cup in France, Slade has been exemplary across all areas of the field for the Exeter Chiefs.
If ever there were a time to remind people why he deserves to play for England in the 2024 Six Nations, it's now.
Enjoy!

thanks mate, great compilation
Thank you, James! Really glad you enjoyed it. :)
Gabriel Ibitoye next!
If only you could add his kick from the Toulon game today😂 great tribute anyway👏👏
Man, it would have been the icing on the cake. But I did intentionally upload the tribute before this game in case Slade did something great again. Which, eventually, of course, he did. Haha.
Thanks for watching and commenting, mate!
Missing the try against Bath
It's in the first minute of the tribute, beginning at 0:46.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Julián Montoya tribute
Great player. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Let's be honest if he was in the RWC squad England would of stood a chance of winning. With him being added to the Six Nations England are definitely contenders
He possesses a very level head at club level. You can tell that many a teammate looks to him for guidance during a game. I think he would have been an extra kicking threat against South Africa.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Slade is a great athlete and reader of the game but he's too vulnerable at the breakdown for England - gets turned over too much. Doesn't offer enough attacking threat either.
You can tell he's far more comfortable at Exeter for one thing, but that could also apply to every player and their respective club(s).
Thanks for watching and commenting!
4 and a half minute tribute includes 5 kicks at goal. Sad. Wouldn't make the Albanian national 2nd fifteen. Honestly cannot understand how Slade has a professional career, let alone a national one in one of the biggest unions in the world.
A shame you feel that way, Ian, but there's plenty of highlights beyond his kicks.
I understand that no player is going to be universally loved, so thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching the tribute regardless!
@StanWilks OK, having just watched England v Ireland I will concede Slade looked like a good player. Maybe I've just been unlucky when I've seen him before. I'm now prepared to upgrade him to the first fifteen.
@@ianburton9030 That's very fair of you, mate. Thanks for giving him a chance.
International rugby is understandably cutthroat, but players - being human - will always have good games and bad games. Look at Wilkinson against Argentina in the 2011 World Cup, for example.
And what a win that was against Ireland last night!
