The period story, as someone who had the little girls parent think the same (never talking about what a period was) I can safely say that little girl definitely appreciated that OP took care of her. I was expected to know what a period was and how to deal with it.
I will NEVER do what my parent or the little girl's parent did. Its important for everyone to know about periods, what happens, what you need to take care of it, that its natural, ect. There are grown men that think people can turn their period off and on. These men are fathers, husbands, bosses, managers, brothers, people in power, ect
Years ago I lived with my roommate and he had 3 girls. The middle one was was having her 13th birthday. He was fine with me talking to her about pads and showed her where they were kept. Also I told her I was always happy to help her if she has any questions. She had some knowledge and he was open to talking about these things and her mother was a nurse so she was covered educationally. It worked out well because she had come to me a few times with questions and needing help. I was so happy she was comfortable talking to me about these personal things.
My brother actually matured more than my mom.
Once I had my birth control pills on the counter and my brother saw them. He knew what they were but my mom berated me for having them out in the open.
I was 23 at the time and my brother was 21.

My mom was an open book when she spoke to me about this, even though her mother wasn't. I can't imagine not being told and having to figure out everything on my own

I am heartbroken . In my city these accidents tempt to happen from time to time . The drivers are always Scott free which enrages me . As an example last year 4 people were killed by one of the accidents , a child , a young couple and a elderly person. The 20-ish old Male didn’t get any punishment . I am just disappointed this always happens

I'll never understand the law when it comes to driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or whatever. If you make the decision to drink or do dugs and then drive and hurt or kill somebody, you should be punished even harder.
Amen to that! I unfortunately lost a friend, who was only 26, to a drunk driver almost a year ago. I know the cops got the drunk driver and he was in DEEP shit for it. If you don't have a sober driver or a safe way to get home, don't be out drinking or drink at home and DON'T DRIVE.

When my daughter started her monthlies I basically freaked out and paced around the house going “oh s*it oh s*it oh s*it”, had to ask a random lady at Walmart what to buy, got a little misty eyed and eventually had the talk with her. I have no females in my family left.
I’m sorry for your losses. You’re brave for doing what you can to ensure that your daughter gets what she needs.
There’s also doctors you can speak to if you need more help and to make sure your daughter doesn’t have any issues with her hormones and the like.
Don’t be afraid to ask folk on social media, there’s Koke that females like myself who are more than happy to help where we can, especially something like menstruation. Basically let your daughter know as she grows up that there are options like sanitary towels, tampons, and reusable moon cups (which come in different sizes, they’re not one size fits all). Sanitary towels tend to be the easiest for all ages, tampons are good for swimming (you can get them with an applicator to help with insertion, or no applicator where you only use your fingers) and other sports, and the moon cup a lot of women like using because it’s reusable, comfortable, and helps save on waste that can damage the planet.
So don’t be afraid to ask on social media, there’s lots of groups where folk are happy to help

I was a single father for a while. Growing up all the girls that I was serious with had stories about how they hadn't been told anything about periods. One of them said her mom just handed her a box of pads and never said a word. It was hard for me to talk to my daughter but i vowed i would tell her about it before it happened so she wouldn’t get scarred like my girlfriends. I did have a good conversation with her and before she started. When it finnally happened she was still a little freaked out which i think is probly normal but she ended up thanking me later especially after some of her friends told her thier horror stories. I was hard but worth it.

I can do this with English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Mandarin and Korean.
I have German parents bu grew up in Québec, however, my grandmother who lives with us is Chinese and my grandfather is Japanese, so I knew Mandarin, Japanese, German, French, and English by the age of 8. Then I learned Italian, Spanish and Korean in the span of 14 years.
I'm also gay so I understand gay slang.

When I was 8, as a Canadian I went to visit India ( my background ) and multiple times, people on the street would try to steal my dads wallet, and wash our car while sitting in traffic then ask for pay. So one time my family ran into a girl asking for money, "because she needed medicine for her kids" so my dad kept on saying something like " I have Paypal, if you can accept that," (I can't remember) and the look on her face was priceless

The one about wifey eating with her hands is hilarious and reminds me of when a similar thing happened to my in the international school I went to on Malaysia. Over there eating with your hands is common and so is having meals while sitting on the floor with friends. So my friends and I were sitting on the floor during lunch time when this white lady teacher walks out of the staff room and goes "you shouldn't eat on the floor like barbarians, go sit at a table and be quiet" before shutting the door again.
We were so shocked at her attitude that we didn't get to say anything back and started laughing at her stupidity and how insulting she just was towards us not following her version of civility. All I can hope for is that she heard us laughing at her bs and the staff in the staffroom found out and told her off for it.

I was at a Chinese buffet a few weeks ago... I go there a lot and the wait staff know me well enough that I don't need to tell them my drink order or when I'm done and want the check... anyways, I eat with chopsticks while im there all the time and my choice of utensil is chopsticks. I was eating there a few weeks ago, like I said, and I was eating with chopsticks, when this Asian lady, (She doesn't work there and is not friends with the staff or owner) told me since I am White, I shouldn't use chopsticks. Apparently that means its cultural appropriation. I explain to here that its not and that anyone can eat with them. Plus they make your food not taste like metal. She got angry and started yelling in mandarin and the wait staff heard her and told her to leave. That was the end of it as she walked out cursing (I assume) in mandarin at me and the staff. it was funny.

I know it's horrible. I don't know why he chose this story to do though. I like to hear the Karen or Entitled Parent stories which are funny, but hearing someone lose his parents because of ED is too tragic. It doesn't strike me as the right kind of story to use to get likes on a video.

FYI I lost my mother when I was 17. I miss her and wish she could have met my wife and children.
My dad works in a mine and he works 2 hours away from home so I’m always fearing that he might die in a collapse or on the highway back home, my mom also lives two provinces away from me so it would be a pretty big move

I want to know what this lady with a 14yr old having a period expected to happen genuinely. Her kid starts bleeding randomly one day and likely having bad cramps then asks no one anything at all until.......she's on a honeymoon with a dude? "She'd figure it out on her own!" Like what does that even mean? Humans might count as animals to an extent but all animals are different in learning. Just like no human just knows how to or that they have to do things like wear clothing, walk on 2 legs or speak within the first 1 hour of being born. Some animals can do a few of those things but not us.
I too talk to my dog in her native tongue when she barks at me like that. PuppyBloopers for the win!
