I always go for the smaller plants too. If they don't make it, you don't feel as bad because you didn't spend too much money on them. If they do grow, you get the joy of watching them thrive.

Nice, if you're in Atlanta come to the Pikes at Lindberg, I'm working weekends there this summer. I got that same Hope, such a deal. Also picked up one of those $20 tetraspermas. We got those same Hoya reticulates as well. It's funny sometimes we get some real finds that come in the "assortments." That Silvery striped sansevieria I'm pretty sure is a Bantel's Sensation, so they're always a find.
I usually go to the Pikes in Toco Hills, I love the selection Pikes has, I'm like a kid in a candy store. Right now I'm loving succulents and calatheas. I want to do a succulent rock garden in my front yard.

Thanks for my plant shopping fix. I live in the Poconos in PA. We are still under shelter at home orders. I was out last week to get my groceries. I did stop at Lowe's, Home Depot and Walmart. It was so disappointing. There were not many plants and not healthy and happy.
Thanks to Amanda at Planterina, I have been able to get my plant fix during the pandemic.
The plants there are healthy & happy and well priced.

I purchased the Hoya Retusa in the white hanging basket, and a Hoya Macrophylla last Monday. :) I love that Pikes!! It's only 5 minutes from where I work.
I totally forgot to add, If you are looking for either of those Hoya, I'm pretty good about sharing if you would like some cuttings. :)

Hope needs quite a bit of light. Otherwise it will drop some of the leaves. Learned that the hard way 😟. It IS finally growing from those bare ends of the stems again, so I will never again forget to give a good amount of light again 😊

Great video as usual. I'm really quite new to the house plant world, only started last year in summer with 2 plants. Its 86 now. I have a very good friend here in York who is just as mad as me, probably more mad 😄. Anyway always like to watch your videos and they really are therapy
Good find! Looks like my clover peperomia but more succulent and resilient looking! The variegated ficus repens was so cheap! I got my green non variegated for $30 😱 Also those glass terrarium cloches had ventilation holes! I’ve killed a fern in something that looked similar without holes since it was not meant for plants but I tried airing it out everyday! I kill ferns no matter where I put them anyway 😪.

Normally I am prepared for when I buy plants, but today I made my first impulsive plant purchase. At my local Lowe's I found something I had never, ever, seen before called cordyline fruticosa, I think... my mom and I each got one :D

Hi Debbie, I work at Pike's and currently we don't have any stores in South Carolina. There are four in the Charlotte area, and more down around Atlanta. Within the next few years they might expand into York county, SC, but no definite plans yet.

Carol Smith I use mosquito bits from Home Depot. Sprinkle on the soil. You can buy online too, make sure you wash your hands after use.
I would so love one of those braided Sansevieria . Course I would unbraid them ASAP. I LOVE the Moonshine Sansevieria. Nothing like this comes around here.

hello ashley.ilove all these calatheas but i think its difficult plant .thank you for this video.
💚Not difficult at all in my experience. I'm in arid Arizona. I give them lots of humidity and "never water" until they're dead dry. I have even propagated several with success. Anyone can grow them with a little plant wisdom.

I think I’m the only person who hates variegated plants. Pearls and jade pothos, njoy, krimson queen hoya, etc. I just think they are so ugly. I think it’s because they remind me of a bush my parents have in their yard that I’ve always hated. Ha
