You know I think Hades being Mel’s dad could have been more interesting if he was just like “So I left you mom for a goddess named Persephone but we where forcefully separated and she got stuck on the mainland and I just want to see her again.” Bam. A more interesting character than any in the trilogy.
They are following Disney’s Hades rather than the actual Greek mythology.
We see this as a the whole rock thing and fire thing in the movie and Hades overall personality being different.

Here’s my biggest problem, in Descendants 2 Maleficent is taken to the isle when it has the barrier. The lizard thing was a spell. Maleficent should have returned to her true form in the second movie
Evil magic does not work on the isle. Maleficent turning into a lizard was not evil magic it’s what she deserved
The more you watch this movie, the more you realise how valid Hades is for being mad about being stuck on the Isle. Like, he's a god. He's literly keeping the underworld in order

Audrey is totally in the right. Mal drugged her boyfriend, and in doing so, completely stole her life. Ben and Audrey never even broke up, Mal just straight up stepped in front of her and they acted like nothing happened.

I love how in all three descendants films, everyone forgets magic doesn’t work on the isle
I have a problem with this "everyone is asleep" thing because in a nice place like whatever this place is called, there must be people swimming in pools and the beach and stuff. So what happens to them? they drown? And also what if someone is cooking and/or the stove is on? sharp objects? Or they're climbing a roof or something and the spell is cast and they fall? And they might starve.

Weirdly, one of my favorite moments in this is when one of the VKs is eating berries and is so enthused because there is something good to eat just lying around, when in the island there is nothing and you have to scrounge to survive. The descendant he is talking to (I think son of Jafar) realizes how much better he has it since coming to Auradon, and that he's been taking it for granted. They plan to go exploring together once the kingdom is saved. I thought it was a moment with weight in a mostly frothy movie. I also can't overlook the fact that the whole "There are good and bad guys on both sides of the wall" speech was put into a movie while the whole "we're going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it" stuff was going on. It was blunt but she wasn't wrong.
Disney Execs: "This is going to be the most legendary trilogy in Disney history with a modern twist on it!"
Descendants Actors: "So this is where dignity ends."
Wait, since Hades is a god, and Mal is his daughter, doesn't that make Mal a demi-god.

In the book The Isle of the Lost, which is what the movies were based off of, Maleficent tells Mal that her father was a human. It’s plausible that she could’ve lied to Mal, but there’s no way Hades could’ve been her dad.

Maybe small correction, according to the lore of the franchise, only evil magic doesn't work on the Island. Which explains, why the blonde hair spell on Mal didn't disappeared when she went back to the Island in the second movie. Which also explains, why the Wand wouldn't have worked when they tried to destroy the barrier. Since they had bad intentions to do it, even if the Wand would have been real, it wouldn't have worked. And since the spell on Mal which turned her into a grandma is a evil spell, when she entered the Island it disappeared.
I find it a little weird that Mal tells Uma to take care and basically rule the Isle of the Lost then is like, “actually I want to rule both islands” 😂 And then Uma is just fine with it?!
I just can’t believe this Audrey girl caused all this chaos and received no repercussions meanwhile a bunch of innocent kids are imprisoned on an island 🙃

I hate how Audrey was portrayed as the villain.. like it was her fault. It wasn’t. Mal literally put her bf under a love spell & even when the spell came off he decided to cheat on her and when Audrey was defeated SHE’S the one that had to apologize, that’s what pissed me off the most
they broke up by then so not cheating
1 Audrey was a bully long before the VKs arrived at Aurodon.
2 Audrey broke up with Ben after Ridiculous (She declared "I'm dating Chad now!")
3 She was essentially in a political relationship with Ben, when she references her grievances in her soliloquy it is all about the power and who is queen and not once is Ben mentioned as a person. Further, Audrey does not show any sign of respect for Ben as a person while they were dating. Instead she derides his decisions, places emphasis on his title when he introduces himself without it and antagonises his guests.
4 We are even told directly that she is a rather plastic person, all about the appearance but without much substance behind it. She shows no sign at that point of actually understanding what it means to be good, only how to superficially not appear evil.

The reason why she was not like she was able to get the one is because she was able to break the fourth fields and she was able to break the glass thing around it and the reason why the V case we're not able to get it is because it was had a big magical force field so you can see them the first movie where J tried to get it and he got blasted to the wall

Alex, I urge you. Review Cinderella 3, arguably the best of the sequels. It’s pure chaos, surprisingly well developed and heartfelt plus the prince jumps out of a window.
YA know at 4:32 in this video, I thought that, in true Disney fashion, they were gonna say love or friendship. But nope, its something that comes from the monarch of hell (in Greek mythology logic) himself. And yet, the spell wears of so they could potentially do nothing and the movie would be over then and there.

They should have left the villains dead. And instead of only forgiving people who know and care that what they've done is wrong, show guilt and remorse for it, are willing to do whatever they can to make up for it and will keep doing things to make up for it until they have Descendants operates on the naive Spy Kids logic of "Once a villain is beaten once they're automatically redeemed and turned good." That's not how it works with either real or fictional evil.
