Carlos was taught as a child that dogs were dangerous and would hurt him. So his mother told him that so he would do anything Cruella said without question.
also Carlos was afraid of dogs because Cruella De Vil, which is his mom, got attacked by dogs in 101 Dalmatians. She probably taught him dogs are vicious creatures.
@@dmaster1000 Well, he didn't break up with her because of the love spell, even if it broke on the first date (she still broke up with him before it). @@eryuu4016 Yeah, but you could tell he was feeling Mal the moment he looked into her eyes. He was even being very persistent in sparking conversations with her. Although I don't like Audrey, I can't ignore the facts. But yes you're correct, she did break it off with him first. 🤷🏾♂️
Kenny Ortega named the Julie and the Phantoms’ characters Luke and Carlos after Cameron Boyce’s characters in remembrance of his death. Kind of like an homage to him.
This is a quote from an article on the topic “In some interviews, Kenny Ortega revealed that with the name of Luke and Carlos, he wanted to pay homage to the actor Cameron Boyce. “
Sending Hannah positive thoughts and vibes right now! You got this Hannah ! This too shall pass ! You have gotten through past all your bad days and depression before you can do it again ! I Believe in you ! If I lived closer to you I would hug the depression out of you with such a big hug ! 🥺💜🤗
Some facts for you: Carlos-played by Cameron Boyce-actually passed away after the third film of a complication of epileptic seizures. They plan to make a fourth film, in which they will address his passing in some way and work to honor him. On a happier note, you’ve also seen Jay-played by Booboo Stewart-has been on your channel before! If you rewatch the video for Julie and the Phantoms’ song “The Other Side of Hollywood,” you’ll notice him at the table with the boys! His character’s name is Willy, and he and Alex (the drummer) have a sweet little romance arc.
The "staring contest" is that of a power struggle. Maleficent is using magic to corrupt her daughter (Come full circle of the movie Mel is able to withstand her mother's influence, to be a queen in her own right). Also, another harsh fact of life for the kids on the prison island. Cruella terrorized her son with dogs.
When Mal is singing and Ben is swimming, I’m just imaging him going “wth is wrong with this girl” because she was just turning and dancing. But after seeing the end I finally got that he was distracted by the whole love spell broken thing.
Actually, the kids on the isle had a pretty decent schooling system; it focused mainly on being evil and whatnot but Evie read books Also, fun fact; Mal's full name is Maleficent
The Isle of the Lost thing: It’s a prison colony basically. The staring contest thing: the green glowing eyes was a form of asserting her will over her daughter. Carlos is afraid of dogs because his mom taught them they were evil and therefore deserved to be turned into coats. I have seven year old. I have seen all of these movies more times than I can count, and I know all the songs by heart, as does my daughter. You should react to all of them. The vocals are all pretty great, and my daughter would absolutely love it.
So, Cameron Boyce (the actor playing Carlos) actually did a portion of the choreography for all three of the movies. Unfortunately, we will never get to see his skills expand due to the fact he had passed in 2019, but a lot of good did occur after in his name (ex. The Cameron Boyce Charity to stop gun violence and to find a cure to epilepsy.)
My brother has epilepsy and when I found out that Cameron Boyce (who was defiantly one of my favourite Disney stars align with Dove Cameron) had passed, it reminded me of how close my brother had been from dying due to a seizure. I’m glad that the Cameron Boyce Charity happened, and I’m glad people are so willing to help change the world for the better. Unfortunately, you don’t really hear of many good things happening now, but every now and then you stumble across something good or happy, something that makes the world a better place despite it only having a small effect on the planet itself 😅
Having epilepsy myself I’m so thankful for his charity. When I found out that he died of the same condition that I have it really affected me. Watching him on tv growing up and knowing that he wasn’t much older then I am makes me realize just how precious life is.
@@gachamirror_verse9623 Yeah. It was wild when I found out he and I were the exact same age when he passed and that it had been his birthday just a little while before that.

I just love your videos so much. You're such a bright presence that adds so much positivity to the world. Also this movie really just tickles me and I'm so glad you reacted to it!
Fun fact, in the song "If only", actually in the original scene It's like Ben never go to swimming, because there is a delete scene where Mal and Ben was in the forest singing, it's pretty good
Okay I'm seeing a bunch of fun facts from the book so here is a sad one: Mal's name wasn't supposed to only be Mal. When she was born, her mom wanted to call her Malificent but changed her mind and decided that she would have to earn that name. So Mal was never good enough for her mom to get her full name and that's why she knows her mother sees her a s not good enough.
Actually, I'm pretty sure Mal's full name already is Maleficent. It's just that her mom thought she should have to "earn" the right to use the full name. In one of the official books (not the ones by Melissa de la Cruz; I think it was the Descendants "yearbook" that was released after the first movie), Mal's name is listed as being "Maleficent Bertha" on her page.
@@mariajosecaballerovera8959 Yeah there are four actually. The first plays before the first movie, the second one after it, the third one takes place after the second book and the fourth is after the third movie. I really liked them because we get to know the characters a lot better.
Fun fact: The cast actually got to choose their costumes (well the core four, as far as I know). They got to choose and design them themselves and decide what they wanted their hair to be like.
You should totally watch the other Descendants movies. The soundtracks get so much better with each film (as does the production budget, you will notice). We do lose Kristen Chenoweth but we gain China Anne McClain and Cheyenne Jackson, which totally make up for it.
The scene with mal being a total mean girl bully is actually really well done when considering that she's playing off of the other girl's insecurities to get what she wants. She's also still committed to giving her mom what she wants at this point. It's a good movie. Love your channel by the way, your personality is so fun!

15:45 - It's a manipulation tactic. Mal is saying that, if Jane were to get her mother's wand, she would be able to make her 'beautiful'. It's what Jane wants and Mal is playing into that want by telling her that the only way to give her what she wants is by getting that wand and giving it to Mal.
You should read the Isle of The Lost books. They take place in between the movies and give a little more insight on the relationships between the children and their parents as well as some other characters like Uma, Harry, and Gil. The first book also introduces you to the characters and shows you how Mal, Jay, Evie, and Carlos met and became friends.

Cheyenne Jackson sings in Descendants 3. Although I like to pretend the third one doesn't exist. I am not sure if Kathy Najimy is a great singer or not.
I'm not sure if it's canon in the books so correct me if I'm wrong, but people in the fandom write fanfics where the general consensus among the writers and readers is that the Isle citizens eat garbage from garbage barges that are brought in from Auradon. I wish the series wasn't Disney because I would've loved seeing how awful the Isle would have actually been with only villains on it and how the four VKs would struggle & cope with the trauma and PTSD.

That's actually Canon! At least the books state that what they get is rotten leftovers from Auradon. Mal for example loves to get coffee from a goblin run coffee shop but I think the coffee tastes like mud since it's stale and stuff
yeah thats fully canon, food comes in barges from Auradon but its not good food, its garbage and spoiled stuff Xp its in plenty of the side books and main prequel/sequel books as well

Lemonade Mouth is another great dcom about a band that you might like :) love the content!
Man she has no idea how f-ed this island is. Like if we get into the books: Mal is named after her mom, and she isn’t allowed the full Maleficent name until she proves herself as a villain. Carlos was basically used as a servant for whatever his mom needed or wanted. Evie was taught that her value was her looks and her abilities to be a good wife to a future king.

Carlos was taught as a child that dogs were dangerous and would hurt him. So his mother told him that so he would do anything Cruella said without question.

Hannah, you made me snort so loud when you talked about the logistics of the horse costume. You paint quite the visual, lady! 🤣 🤣 🤣

@@dmaster1000 Well, he didn't break up with her because of the love spell, even if it broke on the first date (she still broke up with him before it). And, if he told people about the love spell then Mal would have gotten into trouble...maybe even sent back to the island even if she turned to good afterwards
@@eryuu4016 Yeah, but you could tell he was feeling Mal the moment he looked into her eyes. He was even being very persistent in sparking conversations with her. Sure, you could say it was just him being kind and welcoming, but you could clearly see the connection/emotion. He even mentioned while the two were on the carriage that his feelings were real. He was only under the love spell for a day or two before his date with Mal, and when he got out of the pool he still brought up the fact "Mal, I said I love you. Do you love me?" Although I don't like Audrey, I can't ignore the facts. But yes you're correct, she did break it off with him first. 🤷🏾♂️
Kenny Ortega named the Julie and the Phantoms’ characters Luke and Carlos after Cameron Boyce’s characters in remembrance of his death. Kind of like an homage to him.

The whole time I was thinking about Cameron. It is so heartbreaking that he passed away. :((
Jatp gang
There not making a descebdants 4... Its a royal weding short story
I have epilepsy too but gladly didn't have a seizure since 2014
And the dude that played Hades and descendants three is the main villain in Julie and the phantoms
But after seeing the end I finally got that he was distracted by the whole love spell broken thing.
i thought the exact same thing
plus lets not forgot like all of there parent have had there own song so he is probably use to it lol
and he had to decide if he loved her DESPITE that and he had to process everything...
Actually, the kids on the isle had a pretty decent schooling system; it focused mainly on being evil and whatnot but Evie read books
Also, fun fact; Mal's full name is Maleficent
I love how they always talk about how horrible the isle is but when they’re actually there it’s just them jumping around and being BaAaAaaAd
They have no wifi so they entertain themselves with dance like the orphans in Annie in It's A Hard Knock Life.
The way she just understood the entire movie with just 23 minutes is amazing.
I mean it is a kids/teens movie so
I mean not really. She watched the whole thing, but she cut out most of it obviously
OMG I don't even know why I'm so exited. Probably because it's Hanna and who doesn't love her.
Cameron (Carlos) was a very talented person and dancing was one of his favourite things I believe he actually helped with choreography in the movies
I have had epilepsy when i was a kid and im still scared if i ever get another seizure so im really happy for the charity for the cure to epilepsy

Wait, there's a book?
Actually, I'm pretty sure Mal's full name already is Maleficent. It's just that her mom thought she should have to "earn" the right to use the full name. In one of the official books (not the ones by Melissa de la Cruz; I think it was the Descendants "yearbook" that was released after the first movie), Mal's name is listed as being "Maleficent Bertha" on her page.
“Fun Fact, actually really really Sad Fact: …”
@@mariajosecaballerovera8959 Yeah there are four actually. The first plays before the first movie, the second one after it, the third one takes place after the second book and the fourth is after the third movie. I really liked them because we get to know the characters a lot better.
Fun fact:
The cast actually got to choose their costumes (well the core four, as far as I know). They got to choose and design them themselves and decide what they wanted their hair to be like.
Yeah I think that's true as well
Okay the fact that she recognized the blue fairy from OUAT made me want to watch more of her videos 😍!!

Mal for example loves to get coffee from a goblin run coffee shop but I think the coffee tastes like mud since it's stale and stuff
it was actually in the book as well, something along the lines of getting the scrapes of Auradon
Disney address the flaws of the system? 🤣
