Well, not totally innocent. We saw all those children do terrible things because they were indoctrinated with a criminal mindset by their parents. The ending where the barrier is removed made it seem like a happy ending but realistically speaking crime rates in auradon would have significantly increased.

They didn't draw attention to it, but they cast an actual one-handed girl as one of the pirates. She has a RUclips channel where she talks about it. Her name is Kristie Sita. Yeah, actually at the end of the third book it explains that Mal just knew he had to change in order to become a Lady, so she asks Evie to help her with her transformation. They also kind of mention that Ben felt sort of guilty for not giving Mal enough time because of his Kingly duties.

At his worst? Ben's issue wasn't that Mal was using magic; she was literally keeping secrets from him and lying. Then he went to the Isle to persuade her to come back and even tried to learn to be evil like her so that he wouldn't lose her. Ben really loved her; the problem was that Mal was insecure. Ben did nothing wrong.

I just recently watched these movies. I cried at the end of the third one. Not because of the movie but because of Cameron Boyce. RIP 😢 As a mom, I can’t imagine what that must have been like for his poor parents. He was only a year older than my oldest.

Remember that, in The Little Mermaid, Ursula becomes giant during the climax fight, so Uma has the same power.
