@@shizzy7480 A lot of the power came from the Pulse Shield, which got nerfed along with the Ocellius FCS and San-Tai generator. So now people will need to invest into Firearm Specialization (Target Tracking) to achieve the same effect as pre-nerf Ocellius, which means choosing a different arm part, which will cost more weight and EN Load. Besides, people have the Zimm meta figured out at this point.
@@Light_Buster TL:DR : Zimm's weigh like nothing, leaving free real-estate to gain more stat dense parts without a second thought. Firearm spec doesn't matter much it's a shotgun ( old toko had overburden arms with a LRB and etsujin). Nerfing it's weight allows the other shotguns to shine more Going to have to disagree. Most builds zimm is run on don't require melee like you said so the oce nerf only really nerfed the use of missiles on zim builds not really it's fire arm spec. Considering it still makes weapons useable on basho arms the firearm spec investment argument falls flat since that stat is borderline useless, old tokorobo literally had overburdned arms to give a example. The real issue comes from the fact EVERY weight class can run them, that means there is NO downsides outside of range to running zimms. Which means you can spend more investment on beefier frame parts giving your AC more stat density while still duel wielding the best burst/ stagger build up weapon in the game. I'm not asking for it current stats to be changed just it's weapon weight class, bumping it up above the weight of a harris or even at a similar weight would put it in a place where people could start picking haldman as a lighter option if they don't want to invest the frame parts to carry them. If anything I like zimms current damage and stagger stats just not the fact you can wield two of them without a second thought. duel melee builds still wield one of them so it wouldn't really kill that style of play, it would honestly just force people to think twice before just being able to slap it on every frame part in the game similar to LRB. You can't just slap 2 LRB's without putting frame part investment into it. thats all I'm getting at
I've basically given up on PvP, But can someone please tell me if the kikaku booster melee thrust is nerfed or not, I can't seem to reach enemy ac even from medium distance anymore.
My gripe with 3PM and 6PM (and VPM) is that they all do the exact same damage and impact damage, and (in the case of 3PM and 6PM at least) have the same exact spread, with the only statistical difference being weight and energy consumption...it just don't make sense to me.
It doesn't make sense for PvP, but in PvE the 6PM is an absolute monster because of multi-lock. One well-timed salvo can clear entire clusters of enemies faster than almost anything else with almost zero effort.
Ducketts were insane against slow heavies due to stagger and the impact stat is still there. Now you have to rely on a strong melee weapon to capitalize on the stagger. They are still very good and work within the range they were intended for.
VP20D is the best generator in the game now assuming you can afford the weight cost. It literally does everything good now in addition to the highest EN output. You'll be seeing this on a lot of builds now aside from builds that specialize into EN firearm with VE20B and C, or relies on being really lightweight like Kirikite. And while NGI is more popular on lammergeier, people are bound to experiment with 20D lammers, which is extremely damn strong now. I suspect less Coral generator and missile lammers, and more 20D and lighter weapons to make it fit.
Just my 2 cents coming from a fresh player. Lighter closer range weapons should have a higher impact in general. If your a lightweight you can't put on high impact heavy weapons and the lighter stuff just does not seem to accumulate and dissipates way to fast which in my eyes would give an edge to heavy builds. Basically lowers the amount of usable parts to rifles and melee even in pve and you still have to deal with momentary pauses if you charge almost anything in the game, including the laser pistol lol. If your light and up clos, you'rer in the danger zone. Any moment could be your last.
Didn’t really feel like ducketts needed much of a nerf despite it coming up more in popularity. Still suffered rough projectile speed, and the reload time was fine. Guess with the mag buff they wanted to tip the reload time a bit. I don’t mind the recoil nerf cuz encouraging less rapid fire unless using arms with good recoil control is how duckett is supposed to be with pacing the shots. Don’t care about the attack power nerf since it’s mostly for stagger build up. Didn’t really need to do anything in that stat but meh
*Now* can we stop pretending that FS know wtf they are doing with the balancing of this game? Also, just make overlaping plasma bubbles do more damage, man. It make intuitive sense *and* it would immediately fix the two underperforming plasma weapons; the 6 cell plasma missile and the 760 plasma rifle, without the need to change any of their stats and disrupts the niche of other plasma weapons.
As a day one Duckett main I do understand the recoil nerf. They were always very controllable with pretty low recoil control. That being said I am disappointed. Understanding, but disappointed.
The second I saw the Duckett nerf I instantly knew this patch was not going to make any sense. I am very confused by what FromSoft was trying to do here...
Yeah, this update is straight up wonked. Like, ducks becoming more of a skill weapon is alright, but like...rifles still suck, bubble guns suck, the community is craving new parts and weapons (laser machine guns seem high on the list). There is just so much more that could have been done
They definitely need to rethink their weapons. There was this one missile i didn't even touch it left a trail of explosions that couldn't hit shit. Other weapons just couldn't build up good enough impact or be worth the damage. Especially facing certain cores that always seemed to dodge everything, so charge fireing a rifle or using cannons was just out of the question. I cant say anything on pvp I haven't done that as of yet.
@@sakura368 But not nearly as negatively because you can still experiment with builds instead of being forced to make direct counters to meta loadouts.
Nerfing LRB would be very risky. Is the only weapon keeping in check kites, especially on PSN where better latency means more kiri kites. (I think from takes much into consideration psn meta because the jp playerbase).
They’re probably messing with balance to have the dlc be harder is my guess but they haven’t implemented the pvp and pve balance separation to my knowledge anyway but they should do that
I don't fuck with PVP but my most reliable build has been ducks and then lance/zimzam for stagger punishing. Longer reloads isn't gonna matter a huge amount but more recoil just seems silly, and poo obviously the game isn't realistic BUT if the duckett and coauilet fire the same cartridge the duckett SHOULD have lower recoil, because that long barrel would make it much heavier, more mass+same shell= lower recoil impulse

I'm b rank even tho I was s rank last time I played and a few matches until I'm a rank again. I say that to say this...I want a pve update because singles are boring and all the good players is either gone are only in s rank and I'm not a pvp player because it's not fun to me fights last to short but team pvp is fine to me because when u die u come back but nobody plays team. I was sitting in matchmaking until my ps5 turned off automatically, and pve needs new weapons and either a mode like survival or new arenas or something. I filled all my loadouts with different builds with fun builds and meta I got all the ost chips, got everything out the shop, got everything I can get besides s rank title in team pvp because nobody plays it. I beat the game 8 times and all achievements. Literally I have nothing left to do with the game and I'm mainly a pve player and besides that one patch that added a few new weapons and parts I haven't had a reason to play and I'm sad about it. pve players took the game and the community is small now and I just wish they focused on both pve and pvp. I did like team battles because of the chaos and singles was toxic with the rats and missle boats and tanks when I played and I fought through it all to s rank now there's nothing really. I want dlc or a new armored core with pve in mind
They should have made it a pulse generator like the whole laser/pulse Rubicon Institute theme with moonlight and aurora. That way, it could behave completely differently from the NGI. As of now, it's a worse NGI generator that no one will ever run.
I think Aorta should have like 140 en firearm spec. Don't just buff it to like, perform better. Make it so there's a point to putting up with its issues.
@@calangel They could've at least made the AORTA a faster redline than most of the normal generators, something similar to a Combustion Generator but with more EN regained from redlining whilst keeping the abysmal norm recovery. It feels like AORTA SHOULD be something that runs with lower EN Load and EN Capacity than NGI, but also should have a quite faster run given the description for it saying that it "maximizes Coral Combustion" which you really don't feel in-game as most Plasma and Combustion Generators just regain energy much faster, have faster redlines than the AORTA, and some have better EN Capacity AND better EN Load, making the AORTA literally useless.
@@weasel003gaming7 I can definitely get with that change. ...But we do have a generator, VP-20S, that could be retrofitted to fit that role already. Heavyweight bi pedal is medium weight and tanks r heavy but this game caters to lightweight builds clearly. This game does not make any sense. We need more body parts instead of weapons!!! ACVD was the best version. I hope they rerelease that.
The Karasawa has always been extremely heavy in these games. What it needs is *MUCH better stats* to make the weight worth it, mainly a buff to the uncharged normal shot cause it's damn near worthless as is.
Good. Heavy weights need a nerf. Light weight builds take skill. Heavy doesn't. Light weight you cant even get hit twice. You need to play almost perfect in order to do well. Its unnessary. This game is already not played at all. PvP is non existent. This just makes it even worse.

This game is so ded. Light weight builds take skill. Heavy takes no skill. So they nerf what takes skill and dont bother to balance what doesnt. This is game is so done. PvP was the only thing keeping it on life support. What are you doing FS?
Conspiracy brain here 🧠 Consistency nerf on light weapons? Buff on double missiles weight? Near global vertical buff? I have a feeling this was FromSofts way of sloooooowly training shooter fans into learning how to play. They know that fans understand how to be grounded game now. I would like this game to demand aiming, alot more builds could thrive if the game didn't just aim somthing like lrb for you. I'd like to see a return of lock on boxes but much smaller than usual.
@@UrVidaGameMum thats Daemon x Machina. It has a Armored Core 5 aim box but much faster bullets and move speed. The problem that happens with this is that the game becomes more about keeping your aim on the enemy rather than learning advanced movement tech. This makes ammo and melee suffer btw I think the problem is that bullets in AC6 are a bit slow. Theyre meant to be readable and reactable at relatively short ranges so you can see your enemys stance change. You can always turn on manual aiming by holding on the auto aim button if thats what you wanna try or boot up Daemon X Machina and see if you come up with a different conclusion
@@FossilApostle haven't played that game, but I've played alot of shooters that force you to learn and use both movement and aiming at the, quake especially, I would prefer use of both, not just one or the other, cause only utilizing one becomes just a numbers and dps race, AND melee options are still pretty viable in quake, the arenas in that game are so much better designed for a multiplayer environment aswell, unlike, flat plain with gigantic skybox 1, 2, and 3, that ac6 has.
@@UrVidaGameMum you are in a giant mech shooting another giant mech. At a certain point it is always going to be a DPS race. My take on your perspective is that you see guns, and guns are lethal, so aim should be prioritized. But in actuallity Armored Core is more like a Boxing simulator. You will get punched in boxing, but the idea is to outlast your opponent using your tools at the right time. If your opponent is staggered or stunned, you can capitalize on that moment of weakness. So this means that Armored Core is inherently catered towards movement rather than aim Aim matters more when a gun can kill you in 1 to 2 hits, like in other shooters. In armored core, you can go thru multiple magazines without an immediate kill. Meaning dodging and trading blows over long period of time bu lol kois more valued than accurately hitting a few shots. If accuracy and bullet speed were as fast as quake, then it really would be more of a dps check game. Because how can you miss a giant robot? Zimms were nerfed, just not directly.
As for the LRB, totally understandable, but haven't run into them yet. At least in my experience.
@Light_Buster the real issue isn't it's stagger build up and damage it's the fact every build in the game can run them without any real repercussions
Nerfing it's weight allows the other shotguns to shine more
Going to have to disagree. You can't just slap 2 LRB's without putting frame part investment into it. thats all I'm getting at
But i liked my ducket in pve
Played a lot of PVE today. I still think duckett is better than Zimm in pve even after the nerf
@@strikerhutassa hell yea
I kinda wonder if this is as much experimentation as active balancing, as much preparation as revision.
Rip duck meta 🫡
Ducks going the way of the Viento
Pistols just aren't allowed to be good apparently
I've basically given up on PvP,
But can someone please tell me if the kikaku booster melee thrust is nerfed or not, I can't seem to reach enemy ac even from medium distance anymore.
It hasnt been nerfed. I would hella suggest running Fluegal instead tho. The boost speed is pretty damn nice compared to Kikaku
@griffinfaulkner3514 you got a point there, forgot the multilock on them.
I just make whatever feels fun to me, i always hate meta and such, just make your own build and just hav fun dont worry about how broken it is.
Probelm is everything fun is getting nerfed.
Ducketts were insane against slow heavies due to stagger and the impact stat is still there. Now you have to rely on a strong melee weapon to capitalize on the stagger.
They are still very good and work within the range they were intended for.
nice music choices, AC4 has some damn good music
VP20D is the best generator in the game now assuming you can afford the weight cost. It literally does everything good now in addition to the highest EN output. You'll be seeing this on a lot of builds now aside from builds that specialize into EN firearm with VE20B and C, or relies on being really lightweight like Kirikite. And while NGI is more popular on lammergeier, people are bound to experiment with 20D lammers, which is extremely damn strong now. I suspect less Coral generator and missile lammers, and more 20D and lighter weapons to make it fit.
Omg water strider build I gotta do one :D
the Duckett nerf wasn't unnecessary, but thankfully it doesn't seem to effect too much.
Duckets were fine why would you do this fromsoft.
Gonna finish getting an S rank for every mission before I update. The ducketts are so fun
I don't play tetras but I'm okay with an indirect buff to them with the 12345 upward thrust.
Yea no LRB fix is confusing, but Duckett was kinda tuned. Still..Im not sure if thats what I woulda did to balance it.
Somebody must of been crying about the legendary handgun for to be buffed than instantly nerf? Weird
The second I saw the Duckett nerf I instantly knew this patch was not going to make any sense. I am very confused by what FromSoft was trying to do here...
Honestly the plasma missiles only feel like the difference is multi lock related.
Yeah, this update is straight up wonked. Like, ducks becoming more of a skill weapon is alright, but like...rifles still suck, bubble guns suck, the community is craving new parts and weapons (laser machine guns seem high on the list). There is just so much more that could have been done
I think its because theyve wrapped up Elden Ring, so theyre a bit more free to patch up things on the laterbase.
aw i loved using duckett for chip dmg, it was my favourite light weapon for pvp (i suck at pvp, no idea if its usually used for that)
I think my main lightweight build might have just been given a slight edge from this update.
What's the current Waterstrider build? Is it still Majestic/Taiyangshou/JVLN Beta/Random Missile?
Piligar is running split missiles laser drones, ET and nebula on 20d
They definitely need to rethink their weapons. There was this one missile i didn't even touch it left a trail of explosions that couldn't hit shit.
Other weapons just couldn't build up good enough impact or be worth the damage. Especially facing certain cores that always seemed to dodge everything, so charge fireing a rifle or using cannons was just out of the question.
I cant say anything on pvp I haven't done that as of yet.
*Everybody complaining about the PvP Buffs/Nerfs.*
*Me who doesn't play PvP anyways (i'm on Xbox and my Game pass run out 2 months Ago):* 🍹🗿

Nerfing LRB would be very risky. Is the only weapon keeping in check kites, especially on PSN where better latency means more kiri kites. (I think from takes much into consideration psn meta because the jp playerbase).
My main AC runs 2 Ducketts, I'm in shambles right now 😭
The pulse missiles did fairly well against a lot of stacked up mt like in the allmind boss fight. (Which i never ever want to play again lmao)
This patch was helpful to Xbox scene
Mfs didn't burn the coral they burned the entire Rubicon with this patch
did they fix the damn cpu affinity bug yet?
Do ya think they are adding mini patches bcuz they are planning on keeping the community invested in ac while they are secretly working on something big new ac game ? New dlc? Ya never know
Hopefully and they reel in the abysmal mechanics of this game
This doesnt make me interested in ac6. This makes me wanna not play.
I'm sad they killed pistol meta but as a 12345 on bipeds and reverse joints chad that patch is an absolute win! Although rip grid walker. After all the upward thrust buffs wtf is the point of that thruster?

I haven't played pvp since 2 months after release. Just played a few matched single because I'm bored and fought the same 3 people 7 times.
That tournament was SO FUN IM GONNA LOSE MY MIND!! Also chat what is this patch am I rite???? 😂😂😂
Oh shush : )
Ngl, they need to find a way to buff the AORTA. Give it improvements on its role so it's not just a worse Diet NGI Gen.
@@IntrusiveThot420 That literally fixes none of the problems with the AORTA, wdym?
Bump the supply recovery stat up to like 490, then give it a post-recovery en supply of 1600. I would use a gen like that. Matter of fact, I think it would rival the VP-20C for use case.
why would they fucking nerf my duckett???
Ducket nerfs have me not wanting to play the game anymore… it was my fave on my super light build…..
PLEASE LET SINGLEPLAYER PICK THEIR PATCH VERSION! I love this game but damn are the patches whack. I don't think there is a DLC but if there is, it better slap.
Heavyweight bi pedal is medium weight and tanks r heavy but this game caters to lightweight builds clearly. This game does not make any sense. We need more body parts instead of weapons!!! ACVD was the best version. I hope they rerelease that.
all this and Karasawa is still 10k weight
The Karasawa has always been extremely heavy in these games.
What it needs is *MUCH better stats* to make the weight worth it, mainly a buff to the uncharged normal shot cause it's damn near worthless as is.
It's a patch focused on casual play, from not purely light weight perspective... duckets were nutty against heavier weights.
Good. Heavy weights need a nerf. Light weight builds take skill. Heavy doesn't. Light weight you cant even get hit twice. You need to play almost perfect in order to do well. Its unnessary. This game is already not played at all. PvP is non existent. This just makes it even worse.
lol ducketts got a nerfed after I already got s this season.
Wait 5 secs in and ducket nerf already 😢
If you are not meta, duckets hit hard I think the nerf shoulda been to the impact
No zimmer nerfs and the orbiter core is still shit 0/10
ONE DAY ORBITER WILL BE USABLE
MLT06 buff yay also fromsoft free Dez
I'd say good riddance to the Duckett meta - those things were impossible to dodge, and nigh-impossible to hit with on high latency.
No mecha, No life.
You know the origin of this phrase (no x no y) in Japanese media is "Yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi' which basically means "no climax, no point, no meaning". You're gonna get a kick out of learning what that actually means.
Duckets are probably fine.
I don't get the nerf either. Maybe they got scared of the uptick in people using it
And I thought Elden Ring had it bad. From has been screwing up pvp recently haven’t they?
I say that we have it MUCH better than Elden Ring. PVP tournaments in 6 dont need a banlist thankfully. I say this as an Elden Ring pvp enjoyer btw

Glad pc is still pumping ps4 dead currently grinding the story now
This game is so ded. Light weight builds take skill. Heavy takes no skill. So they nerf what takes skill and dont bother to balance what doesnt. This is game is so done. PvP was the only thing keeping it on life support. What are you doing FS?
Duckett’s are everywhere now
fromsoft caring more for armored core 6 than elden ring rn, fking elden ring is dying super fast LOL, activity is shit
Conspiracy brain here 🧠
Consistency nerf on light weapons? Buff on double missiles weight? Near global vertical buff?
I have a feeling this was FromSofts way of sloooooowly training shooter fans into learning how to play. They know that fans understand how to be grounded game now. So they need to teach players how to fly better. Why? Theyve done this before, in ACVD.
My conclusion? I think it means thats its close to the time for extension parts, weapon arms and ultra heavy weapons. 🤞 Heres hoping on an expansion soon. Elden ring dlc was announced 726 days after its release and 847 days until its dlc came out. AC6 is at 431 days since release. In a few months theres a good chance that dlc will be announced
I would like this game to demand aiming, alot more builds could thrive if the game didn't just aim somthing like lrb for you. I'd like to see a return of lock on boxes but much smaller than usual.
I trained high speed flying since before ranked was a thing. I'm more than ready lol.
@@UrVidaGameMum thats Daemon x Machina. It has a Armored Core 5 aim box but much faster bullets and move speed. The problem that happens with this is that the game becomes more about keeping your aim on the enemy rather than learning advanced movement tech. This makes ammo and melee suffer btw
I think the problem is that bullets in AC6 are a bit slow.
So this means that Armored Core is inherently catered towards movement rather than aim
Aim matters more when a gun can kill you in 1 to 2 hits, like in other shooters. If you really want this, then just turn on manual aiming all the time and see if you find different results
