Your videos have really made me realize that level creation, even at a high level, can be very simple to do. I always assumed it was very complex, and it really isn't! Thank you for this video, and the playlist "Geometry Dash Tutorials"!
its kinda like with drawing in a way if you look at somthing complex it looks extremely hard but if you watch a youtube video on it showing step by step guides on how to make it, it actually isnt as hard as it looks
Awesome tutorial mate! :) A tip from me to arts general: AVOID HIGHLY using black or white. Using a lighter or darker color than the base color looks MUCH MORE clean. ;) Another tip: Try using scale hack as much as possible for e.g. plain objects. If you have no scale hack, you can save scale hacked objects from others in the Custom-Objects Tab in the editor. My levels btw have a lot of those objects. Name same as here (Halutena). ;)
most objs look grainy asf when scalehacking, and scalehacking an object too much (like 10x scale) would make it as laggy as multiple objects so use scalehack sparingly
@@robianny honestly, I never experienced that scale hacked objects feels same as multiple. Had optimised levels already this way and they can be played now with more fps. Can U tell how U experience that or from where U get that?
@@halutena pocke's low object level can be a good example. as the title suggests, it uses very few objects, but some of them are scaled so much it just messed up with my game and that makes it as laggy as a high object level to me
Press edit group and look at the z layer and z order, this is what determines what objects will be above or below other objects. Try to avoid different objects having the same z layer and order as this causes them to overlap. Z order determines the order of objects on the same z layer, objects on higher z layers will always layer above lower layer objects no matter the z order. The only exceptions are text objects and objects with blending colours which seem to ignore z order and are at the z layer below the one you select for some reason.
Hey I have a question, so when I was setting the move block to 1000 and tapped done It made it into a 100 and it keeps doing it, idk if it's bc I'm on mobile or what

I am making a doodley like level and i used outlines to make the A4 paper. The outlines kept killling me. I am also a new creator. Can u tell me what i should use to make the lines and stuff?
This issue with people not being able to make custom backgrounds will be solved in 2.2, since there will be almost double the amount of good looking bg’s for any kind of style. And that could bring the high standard power for more creators to appear.
He prob says this later on but use a non moving bg and make different design every time the player moves or just make it stay and u make the background template so ur background has different stuff
What in particular? In the editor press pause then the settings button, turn on the duration lines and effect lines option to add those trigger lines :)
Hmm so you could do that by at the start of the level having a move with x trigger and a move left trigger (so that it moves the bg to the start of the lvl)
Go to the settings. Press more, and then choose any color channel you want for your custom color. After you have your custom color, select all the object of the bg, and edit object, then select the color you want. Or just go watch a video😊
simple, to make the player just use a hide player trigger and design your own character with a custom background. Then make a transition after the cut scene by changing the background and using show player trigger. For the background change, remove the cutscene by using move+alpha or toggle trigger and use alpha or toggle trigger to show the second background after the cutscene.
i honestly have no idea cause im stupid new to gd i have decent skill [insane to easy demon] and really wanna be a creator ig this gave me a lil info on the game thx alot.
Backgrounds are always an important part in a level. Even simple bgs are usefull to make a level interesting
