Steve my man, I greatly appreciate your experience and expertise with Harley Davidson. I was not looking forward to machining some brackets that would work. I ordered these brackets and they absolutely work as advertised. A simple engineering marvel!! Keep up the awesome work and videos. Thank you🙏🏾
Great vid Steve! I guess necessity IS the mother of all invention! Great product that I’m sure many bikers have longed for. Thanks again and keep ‘em comin!
Nice setup and easy to do video, quest I have a '96 king, all stock do those rear exhaust rubber wear out. I'm getting a lot of squeaking at idle. Not sure if the chrome bracket that goes through the rubber, should be a snug fit or lose. The way it vibrates, you could see, and hear it squeak as the bracket that goes through it moves side to side
I Dremeled out the hole on mine, and then hit a pothole I didn't see coming. It knocked the pipe loose, which allowed it to rub against the bag a bit. The pipe and bag have some very small rub marks now. As soon as I saw that happen, I ordered these brackets. I'm back in the sandbox, so I haven't installed and ridden them yet, but they should eliminate the issue. Do yourself a favor, and buy the brackets when you buy the bags, if you even think you might need them. As a side note, Stephen...AdvanBlack should sell these individually as well, since they sell bag setups that are intended for a single pipe. I'll have a spare one sitting around forever that I'll never use. Thanks for another awesome, informative video, sir! Shiny side up!
Hey man...yes sir that is something to consider and I will bring that up in the meeting. Yeah the old dremel out the hole idea worked but like you said it, it can cause it slip back over specially if your washer is up on the edge lip. These work so much better...faster and no metal shavings in your hands lol
Only people giving thumbs up clearly don't own a set of their bags. Should be included when you purchase the extended bags! Not for purchase. The exhaust channels of my bags are all scarred up from the exhaust rubbing. Took a lot of manipulation to get my 4" exhaust even close to centered. And then you let an indy shop or HD remove the exhaust and your back to rubbing again just to get home and re-adjust it back. Better late than never but should have been standard with the release of your extended bags...
All pipes on all extended bags need adjusted. Its part of customizing your bike, no matter what the brand of bag is. We have provided videos in the past that show you how to do it. All the installer/customer has to do is do it. We have now provided an even easier solution than any other company on the market selling stretched bags. We offer a stretched saddlebag. It is up to the installer or the customer to make any necessary adjustments to their bike for fitment. It sounds like the indy shop or HD dealership takes no pride in their work if they cannot take a few minutes to adjust the pipes back to center. I would certainly be careful having someone like that working on my bike. The "exhaust channels" are the same on all stretched bags no matter the brand. Not every bike or exhaust combination needs these brackets however all will need some form of adjustment to center them. There are literally hundreds of exhausts on the market that can be ran without these brackets. Some need them, some don't. For those of you that need more adjustment in your pipes we have now offered an easier solution.
Absolutely agree with you! These brackets should be included! Advanblack’s response to your comment stating “adjustments are needed on all custom installs” .... yes he’s right, that’s why they should include them! Poor reply from Advanblack! Help your customers out by including these brackets with the purchase of your bags. It’s not as easy as your video makes it seem...
Yep, I tried the loosen exhaust at the slip on section and then twisting and they only moved so much, I'll definitely be getting a set of these, but like a few have mentioned these adjustable mounts should have just come with the bags; if I don't need them so be it, but if I do they are there for me to use.
I know your video makes mention of the mounting bracket impacting adjustment, but is there a way that you know of to fit AdvanBlack stretched bags with V&H 450 Destroyers on a 17 M8?
Steve, I get these all adjusted and tighten the h... out of them and they look good until I put a couple hours on the bike and then they migrate back to the outbd side???
They should not be moving at all..make sure you have that split washer on them. Unless there is just an unusual amount of stress on the bracket, as in you had to shove them really far to get the pipe right they should not move. You can loosen the pipes at the headers and twist them and youll see the pipe moves in and out...try that and get as close as you can without pushing the pipe over and then tighten it down at the header...from there finish the push with the bracket to get them even.
Any recommendations for V&H monster ovals? i ordered stretch hard bags to replace stock leather bags and they wont fit because of the width of the exhaust. do i need other mounting brackes for the bags and or exhaust?
Hey Steve! Great video as always. I ordered the new part and can’t wait to install since I was using shims to push my bags away from my 4.5 inch pipes. Do you still need to loosen the bolts at the header when you are installing the new bracket since you will no longer need to twist the pipes? Thanks
As long as you have done the twist method first you wont have to loosen again. Thes best way is to loosen the slip on and center the pipe. Then if you need more room use the brackets. If they are twisted out too far and you use the bracket you may have to much pressure on the header at the clamp.
Ive ran them for 2 years now and never had one move...if you have one move then replace the washer with a star washer..but no..I have not or had anyone complain about them moving.
I wish I seen these a week ago My saddlebags melted because the muffler was way to close to the bag I adjusted them with a strap wrench now I got them 1/4 inch away from the bag
With the brackets it is always best to try to loosen the slip on from the header and turn it into center. Once you get that done then you can re tighten the slip on and push the exhaust over. This is a last step in centering your exhaust.

Glad the brackets worked out for you...simple and easy fix! Be safe!

I've been needing this for ever. The twist method does not last, be it because of vibration or weak clamps.
Will these work with tab 50 cal slip ons ? My left slip on is a little loose. I’m thinking it’s the rubber mount in the stock bracelet

Thank you so much..I was a bit hesitant on ordering 4.5 stretched bags since I have 4.5" slash cut exhaust tips.
Glad the video helped you....I run slash cuts on my RG and with these brackets they are perfectly straight and centered.
@@Advanblack Keep up the awesome work. I enjoy the videos.

I have a 2018 RK Special. Have you adjusted Shark Fin pipes to fit properly?
Not sure there is much adjustment on those style pipes unless you have top brackets like what is shown in this video on normal slip ons
@@Advanblack I order the brackets. They’ll arrive this week can’t wait to put em on. Thank you very much. Your videos are excellent.
Best thing ever!!

Would you recommend loosening the exhaust first
If you are using these brackets you do not need to loosen anything.
Does the bolt move on the slot over time?
Ive ran them for 2 years now and never had one move...if you have one move then replace the washer with a star washer..but no..I have not or had anyone complain about them moving.
I have a 17 streetglide with Vance and Hines. Bracket is on the side were it bolts. Can't move the right side like the left.
Anyone has any ideas bag is hitting the right
I wish I seen these a week ago
My saddlebags melted because the muffler was way to close to the bag
I adjusted them with a strap wrench now
I got them 1/4 inch away from the bag
Hey Steve did you loosen the slip on from the header to adjust or just the mounting bracket?

Does this mean you can install the rear rubber mount in the rear.of the bag instead of taping a shim to the rail?
yes if you use these you install all 4 rubber cushions and just use these.
These brackets should be included with the purchase of your stretched bags! Come on Advanblack!
not everyone needs them.
Advanblack... everyone I know who has purchased the stretched bags from you guys has had to make adjustment!
