      Ngl, i love the blade and it's still the best laptops I've had, but these prices are so out of reality that no amount of "windows macbook" arguments justify it. They're still selling the 2022 15" fhd version with a 3080ti for 2k and calling it a great deal, when you can literally get a lenovo legion pro 7 with a 4080 and better screen for the same price.

    • @cameronbosch1213

      It's a really good IPS screen that's bright with a high color gamut though.
      And unlike OLED, it doesn't burn in.
      Also, having slotted memory is a huge win imo, especially since the G14 is now limited to 32 GB of memory. And sure, most people for now will be fine with 32 GB of RAM. But if you need more in something this small with a dGPU, the Razer Blade 14 is currently your only option (apart from the MSI Stealth 14 and Cyborg 14, which also have slotted RAM).
      I honestly had enough of soldered RAM just for 1 or 2 mms of thinner chassis. It also leads to worse thermals and performance. And with the G14 really only having a screen benefit (but if you don't like OLED because of the risk of burn-in or PWM), then this Blade 14 by far is also your best option. Is it perfect? No. But unlike the previous models with a maximum of 16 GB of soldered RAM from 2021/2022, this is a much easier recommendation.

    If it can offer 140w tgp with low fan noise, why they didn't bother stuffing a 4080 or 4090 option is beyond me. There are 17" laptops that are only 145w.

    • @LightsEnd304
      @LightsEnd304 2 месяца назад

      The 140W isn’t really a real tech spec. All 4070 laptops struggle to hit even 100W of power draw and don’t see any improvement over that.
      As for why not a stronger GPU, it’s likely in their contract with Intel that they offer the highest tier of product exclusively with Intel.

      Depends on what software you use. You should be fine with gaming, but there is a risk for office work and pro apps. Diehard users are still caught in the 1980s when laptops were upgradeable and repairable due to poor QC and the faster pace of tech upgrades. These days we have very little need for the vast majority to worry about getting faster RAM down the line as 7000mHz LPDDR5X is superfast with low latency and will be good for a decade. The same with SSDs, they are now overkill for the majority. So really the only benefit is if you want to increase your SSD capacity or amount of RAM, and most of us buy what we need and never worry about that. It is no longer important to the vast majority.

    All 14 inch laptops are still catching up to the Zephyrus G14 2023 - The thing is an engineering marvel fitting 170W of thermal output in a 14 inch chasis including 1 replaceable ram.

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England 3 месяца назад

    I don't get the longevity argument of replaceable RAM & storage as the dGPU is likely to be the bottleneck of this device long before you need faster storage and RAM. Also, the neural engine will likely age badly as we see AI and ML become the de facto important component of laptops in the upcoming years.

    Those temps and fan noise....lovely.
    The price is indeed very high, but I couldn't afford it even if itwas 1/10th the price so what do I care? lol.
    A question though. Many years ago the Razer software required you to be online and/or to log in their software to use it. Is that still the case? It was a huge turn off for me back then.
    Thanks for a very interesting video and I can't believe I am saying this, bravo to Razer.

    The fact that nothing is brought about the outrageous price of this unit and they kept the same design/screen while other brands are bringing in huge improvements is wild to me. The blade 14 is so much thicker then other laptops and the frame rate is averaging only 12fps more. In some tests thats considered in the margin of error. Matt Moniz letting us down by not pointing that out.
