I played this only recently via emulator. Still gave me that EXACT same feeling of dark chills despite its graphics. Could just be me and my childhood nostalgia or it's truly a great survival horror game.

Dino Crisis 2 was my shit. I loved that they pumped in more action, I had fun buying all the weapons and testing them out. Really was a diamond in the rough back then.

I played the first Dino Crisis game at Gen Con last year, and it was fun. Although, when I saw the Giganotosaurus from the second game, I wondered if maybe it might have been a mutant of some kind. Because not only did its head have a lot spikes, but the creature also appeared to be much bigger than its real world counterpart
Dino Crisis 2 came out in 2000 and the Giganotosaurus was discovered in 1993 and named in 1995 and at the time was considered to be the largest land based meat eating dino. So it was depicted as larger than the TRex and had spikes I'm guessing to make it look more evil.
Its worth noting that the Giga in this game had a mutation when it time traveled. Granting it a GIGA size increase as a result assuming you lot read the dino file about the Giga
Dino Crisis 1 deserves a remake! So many memories playing that as a kid and it generally freaked me out but in a good way. To be honest the velociraptors scared me more than the T-Rex lol
The whole T-Rex swimming and chasing hovercraft probably inspired by the Jurassic Park novel. They would added to the movie but due to technical difficulty they choose not to put it in the movie, since electricity and water didn't mixed together the robots keep getting fried on the water.
That chase along the walkway and warehouse is beyond terrifying. At the same time I'm thinking that would be the same as someone tearing up a fridge over one fish stick
I always found it funny that the models are different for the cut-scene T-Rex and the live one. The cut-scene T-Rex's head is pinched so narrowly at the top and just loops strange lol. Also he's bigger in the opening scene than he is in the rest of the game.
If it's so hungry, why didn't it just do us a favour and eat some of the velociraptors/theriziniosaurs/pteranodons infesting Ibis Island? Or hell, any of the numerous human corpses for that matter?
DC2's T-Rex is even more ridiculous. That thing could take bullets AND tank shells. But then, it took an Ion Cannon to put the Gigantosaurus down, so I think realism is the least of our worries here.

Maybe I saw my uncle played Dino Crisis? He did like playing these type of games back then, like Tomb Raider and Redident Evil.

The Rex in game 1 was perfect as it was completely unbeatable, you could only make it back off, even in the final fights. The sequel games didn't do it justice.
Ya serious? You shoot it with a FRELLING TANK so it takes a NAP and then HATES YOU AGAIN!. Thing took more beating than in DC1! It took a Giga to take it down for good!
Some things I think about would make this game even more terrifying, if we don’t see the T-Rex kill Cooper in the beginning. That shock value of the Rex breaking the glass is terrifying, but what if we didn’t even know it was the big bad enemy until that scene? And then we could see a cut scene of surveillance camera video of his death like the opening animation.
This is the only horror game i love. Because modern jumpscares and etc suck and doesnt even scare you. But this game is the only one ever i felt genuine fear playing. Dark overall tone, 80s horror movie type music and the idea of being pretty much alone in a facility full of dinosaurs. The raptors were scary but the t rex was wow. The jumpscare in chefs room was like damn. I also completed this game just once. And got the good ending i specificly remember the scene where he lays next to blood and wakes up, takes his breath and the scary tone. That gave me plenty anxiety. I knew hes coming back and this isnt over. He refused to stay down, but eventualy you defeat him and the cinematic with the morning sun just show "phew, this nightmare is over"
Dino Crisis 1 and 2 need a remake. The first game could be remade in the same way Resident Evil 1 was remade while the second game, being more action-packed, could take more inspiration from Resident Evil 4's remake.

So... T-Rex was the Nemesis of Dino Crisis 1. You can avoid it or have a small confrontation. But at the end of the game, you must confront it.
