When resupply food chain becomes more and more limited and if she does get sick on the trail, when the US goes into complete lock next month and she can't get off the trail, what next?
@@WilliamTheDestroyer. The supply chain and logistics are fine, the only problem is idiots that think Toilet Paper cures Wuhan virus! Probably Just like you William!
What fun to see you so energized & happy! You’re such a great hiker & your videos are so full of good content. Chica & Sunsets should be so very proud of the joy & rest they bring to hikers!
Hey,this is Ronnie from Franklin,North Carolina. The reason no one was on wayah bald is the forest service road is closed till spring. I've enjoyed your video's. I walk and camp s lot of where you've been. It's home. You be careful out there and enjoy the country.
Up or down don't matter. It's all in the groove. I'm behind you a bit, Franklin. Digging your journey, even as much as my own. Escaping one's own perspective is the hard part. Thank you.
What a great trail day! I love your sense of wonder at the little gifts the trail doles out to anyone with the sense of adventure to go find them. On to the NOC!
That campsite at the Cold Spring Shelter was about the creepiest I'd stayed at. I had been hiking in the rain for two days by the time I got there, there was bear sign everywhere and I was by myself for a cold windy night. Ahhhhhh, good times.
You are def my fav hiker to watch on the AT! Always happy and cheerful and totally excited to be there! lol There will be tough times but you have a fantastic attitude... stay safe. Making NH proud :)
Yes! That’s where Memory and Filia walked in FFT video. That was my first thought too. Nice to know you watched their vids. Wonderful video today. Such a beautiful trail even before green!
You’re doing great! I’m really enjoying your hike. Through hiking the AT has been on my bucket list, but my age and health limits me to section hiking only. I live in Pennsylvania and have only done my State so far and it’s not a favorite for hikers. Hoping the miles and weather are kind to you as you continue!
That is the same exact spot that Braids went down the wrong path. I saw a orange-yellow blaze on a tree but she didn't notice the first one. By the second one (shown in her video) the trail had deteriorated so bad that she started questioning it and realized her mistake. By that point the trail had so many blowdowns and was so narrow she was wondering. Not sure if you took the same wrong path but this is a heads up to future hikers, maybe ? They really need to better mark the trails (AT and side trails) on Wayah Bald so that it isn't so confusing.
That Wayah Bald tower had no roof when I went through in 17, it was burned off in the terrible fires they had the previous year. That whole section to the NOC was scorched like Mordor. Still a beautiful section.
Your energetic sweet positivity is so refreshing. Considering all the negativity going on in our society today. Thank you for sharing the awesome views. 😊
The locals aren’t at Wayah Bald because the forest road gate is still locked at the bottom of the hill. They opened it on Monday, March 16, and immediately the locals and out-of-towners started coming up 👍🏾. It is beautiful! I’m lucky to live here. Enjoying your videos 😀
You will soon be up to 6643 ft. Higher than Mt. Washington in NH, at 6288. If the trip is all about the smiles, you are off to an excellent start! It's beautiful up in those southern mountains. Thanks again!☺
Wayah bald will get busier buts its not a great road up the mountain, kinda limits the day folks. Your videos have some of the best quality Ive ever seen...whatever camera, editing software etc you are using, its working great, dont change a thing....love that section of the trail...look forward to your episodes every day......
In your previous videos, I thought, wow, this girl has a really great attitude and an infectious smile, but the way you are beaming now after your zero and good weather with views.....very uplifting. I'm sure even better days lay ahead for you. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey with us! Best wishes and safe travels!
Do me a favor? In the recent past I have placed "Tallahassee Tom" counter brushes in almost every shelter from Springer Man. to Davenport Gap (north end of GSMNP). These are to sweep off the sleeping platforms. Some have survived at location for up to 4 years. Some were replaced Fall 2019. They all have a strip of bright colored duct tape and a string to hang. Have you seen any? When I am up that way in Spring and Fall I always check some shelters and replace brushes as needed. I have always been greatly impressed that hikers have left the brushes for those that come later. Brooms do not survive as long.
Looks like you stumbled upon a little fairy home. At least that's what we called them when I was in Girl Scouts as a kid. People build little tiny homesteads in the woods like fairies live there.
When you go through the section of Carver's Gap to 19, next to Shady Valley, TN, and Damascus, VA to Greyson Highlands I was there in 2013. Didn't finish my hike due to my bad knee...I started hiking again this year. Palmetto Trail, SC.
When you go from Carvers Gap to 19E, hope The Station on 19E is open - sweet hostel and great craft beers but COVID -19 may have shut it down - problem is thru hikers need support and places like The Station on 19E provide that support.
Phenomenal view. I recall Mt Washington summit while section hiking NH (1995) . I had less than no interest in climbing any of the numerous peaks that I saw. Nahamsha hiker is strong! Thanks for the marvelous video.
Making a wrong turn -- the same thing happened to me last year in Virginia (only my wrong turn was more negligent on my part, because I blew through a clear "change of trail" blaze). And I also fell on my wrong turn. But you didn't let it ruin a good day, which shows that you are in a good place physically and mentally. North Carolina is beautiful for sure. Thanks to you, and Chica and Sunsets, for the great views,
Great videos Taylor! I enjoy them very much. All aspects of the hike are presented to the viewer. The beauty of the trail as well as camp life - which is my favorite. Food and gear are discussed. Best!
You are the happiest hiker I've ever seen on the AT!!! I know, I've hiked it! Thanks for the Memories and great videos... times will be hard but I know you can do it!! good luck!!
Taylor you’re a young lady that I love love love your personality you are someone special and have a great future ahead of you I have enjoyed your videos and followed you from your time of prepping home, business and getting ready to hike. Yes Hiking with Braids is just a head of you she got lost in that exact same spot keep smiling. Thanks Wayne
I have hiked this section of the AT from Winding Gap to the NOC and it’s full of AMAZING views. Wayah Bald’s 360 views are stellar. The next part down the the NOC is interesting. Good luck on the rest of your hike. All of you doing the AT this year are luckily missing all of this Coronavirus BS going on being out in nature where I’d rather be.
Great views today. I love your spirit. You always up beat. I know that place really starting to close up the trail cause of the out break. Best place to be mountains or on boat.👍👍
A little grandfatherly advice, slow down and smell the air, see the sights... I understand you have an agenda but getting hurt won’t help. That said keep up the great work. Still remember Snowbird and making it to Damascus as that was the last leg of my 10 years accumulated thru hike... Marriage, children and work always got in the way yet through your eyes I’m living it again. Thank you, Slewfoot ‘89
It looks like a top 10 day for hiking on the AT. Thanks for sharing it with us. I see you stumbled thru LostVille, a town that pops up every now and then on the trail. Just try not to stay there too long or you might not leave. Thank goodness for Guthooks. WrongWayVille is another scenic attraction that you will most likely encounter at least once. Just when you have hiked a nice section of the trail, you will find yourself going back over it again.
I love that fire tower - the Tellico Fire 3 1/2 (Fall 2016) years ago burned all the trees and Rhododendron at the top of that hill and burned the roof off the shelter - as for no folks being there, the forest service has not yet opened the road up to Wayah Bald - they close it in winter - you will enjoy the walk to the NOC - don't know if you will get there before everything closes except the general store because of COVID-19 - kept the store open for resupply for thru hikers but no lodging and restaurants
You're on track to catch up with Screwball 2020 in a few days. What a pace you are setting!!!!! Hope you are taking lots of time to see the sights too.
You shared some beautiful views! I’m sorry about you fall but you got some trail magic afterwards, so hopefully that made up for it! Thank you for sharing!
I don't know how trail names are bestowed upon thru hikers, but I would suggest "smiles" or "legs" for obvious reasons. You crank out consistent miles with smiles. I really enjoy watching your adventure.
That was such a beautiful view from, siler , probably got that wrong and no view is wasted, take in every beautiful moment, you'll relish them later and lament for the views you never got and may never have again, what I'm saying is, cherish and experience it all, you will appreciate yourself later for it😁😁😁
Just a friendly suggestion. I know bears are probably not foraging yet but I would not leave my pack alone. Your life is in your pack. I know personally that a hiker lost his pack to a bear near Mt. Roger's a few years ago. Bears have learned.
Where in gatlinburg and will be at Newfound gap today 3/16. Hope to see you! Not sure how far you are on the trail but we will be in town til thurs. Stay safe
Its super fun to follow youre journey😃 But i have a qustion :) Is it normal in America to leave youre pack, and then come back to it ? I live in Denmark, and i would be so afried that it was gone, when i got back to it😅
If I don't have one missed turn and or trip and fall, I don't consider it a successful hike. I went a mile and a half in the wrong direction off Mt. Garfield a few years ago.
8:51 All the locals are self-quarantined b/c COVID-19. You're probably standing in the safest place on the planet. Enjoying your hike!

Very nice vid! Beautiful scenery from this moutaintop.
Hiking with Braids got off trail in that exact spot. Definitely needs some marking or something there.

Being from NH and familiar with hiking in the state I’m surprised she didn’t know Mt. Wash’s elevation. :)
