I can't believe how many are giving their "advice" and downright stupid criticism. It's obvious you know what you are doing. The way you had your tent pitched showed that, among other things. I will be watching and cheering you on!

Moving right along. "Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy...." I would have broken out in song at that moment. Hopefully no one would be close enough to hear. Traveling or hiking always reminds me of different songs and I'm forever taken back to that place when I think of that song after that. Funky Town is the AT. Got caught singing that on trail as someone blew past me. "Gotto move on....." Keep hiking, doing good and sorting out the glitches as they come up.

Head hurting...Ill feeling upon wakening...welcome to the South”s allergies. After draining a bit moving around you”ll feel better. See if a decongestant helps. Going from NH straight to the woods of GA would be shock. I am in North Florida and the pollen covering the cars is horrendous. Feel better and keep that attitude.

Good hiking taking advantage of the break in weather.👣 👍
When your hiker's hunger finally kicks in ya may want to add a Beef Ramen to the Mountain House lasagna meal....one of my favorites 😀
    Stay healthy & happy... Blessings
PS... If ya don't have a waterproof protective sleeve for your phone, a Ziploc bag does the trick 👍
Also a pair of bread bags over your socks in your shoes will "help" with the wet feet.

You are doing very well. Hike for your fun, video for your future self, and post when you get the chance. Do you have a hands free umbrella? An umbrella can keep you warmer in a cold rain or snow by not letting the cold rain cool off your rain jacket. I hope that you get more sunny days. Ramdino reports that the deer ticks are out already, be careful. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick

I wonder if the difference in switchbacks here vs. the White Mountains has to do with erosion. NH has enough rocks that it probably keeps the rain from flowing down the trail too much, but in GA the trail would eventually turn into a huge trench from the dirt eroding to the bottom. Interesting.
