Good to see that the Borg are actual villains in more than one universe....
shame we never saw anything more from those aliens again. Bigger shame they didn't keep any of their guns.
Yep, I always wonder if they're some alternate version of the wraith who became genetically engineered cyborgs in their universe as opposed to life sucking hybrid bug people.

@@barneyrubble4293 the plan was to have them be an alternate version of the replicator project made by janus. that they were lantean made was to be a later reveal
Shame these aliens didn't come back, they are clearly very advanced though their pilots seem very aggressive without any communication or personality. Maybe they are clones or drones, like the Wraith use. Could have made an interesting story arc.
every time i see this episode i wish we got to see the next seasons.
This was such a missed opportunity, because of their cancellation, to give these wraith a bigger story.
When I first watched this episode, one of the first things I realized is that up until this episode, there were no cyborgs in the Stargate franchise. There were plenty or non-humanoid robots, machines, drones, brain uploads, androids, people with nanites inside them or some other removable implants, but for some reason biological individuals with non-removable cybernetic implants embedded into their physiology did not exist until now.
If microscopic machines constantly maintain your brain, you're a cyborg...the same as if a box with blinking lights were attached to your skull.
@@Ragitsu Yeah, but in Weir's case it was a last resort medical procedure, and she almost got turned into a bunch of nanites before that, so I guess it's a special case?
@@sargon6000 To me, the presence of any machine that either sustains your life and/or enhances your capabilities qualifies you for the label of "cyborg". The aliens in this video appear to be a race/species of cyborgs...or perhaps they are augmented soldiers serving a master race; it's possible that their implants also allow for remote control.
@@sargon6000 Do you consider the Orbanians to be cyborgs?
@@Ragitsu Good question. Personally, I'd lean towards no, since what they have is not a permanent feature, and from what I understand of their process, their nanites are doing all the work, and in case of the kids, the process only works until they reach a certain age.
Curious on peoples thoughts. Do we think this is an alternate version of the wraith or a whole new species. Maybe some foreshadowing for future episodes?
New species to replace the wraith as the big baddies
@@thehantavirus Havent seen the interview that talks about these aliens. It does seem like Stargate is gonna come back. Apparently they were supposed to make an announcement before the writer and actor strike. At that time it was leaning toward a 4th in cannon series. Who knows now tho 🤷♂️
@@jackoneill1336i’m not holding my breath, I doubt we’ll see another Stargate series anytime soon
@@Michael-yu2yk At the time the producers didn’t know this would be the last season. So I more of meant foreshadowing for season 6 which they thought they would get at the time.
But we will for sure get new Stargate at some point. Amazon isn’t just gonna let it sit. I just hope it’s not a reboot
I think they were intended to be a new enemy, unfortunately, we never got another season. Which is a shame, cybernetic zombie berserkers might have been an interesting recurring enemy.
