@@solidcricket idk if you watched the Far from Home movie, but Spidey REALLY struggled there. Betrayed by the person who he thought was his friend, his actual close friend and mentor died not that long ago, he didn't know what was real and what was just another illusion of Mysterio. I think for a teenager, that's a lot to swallow, taking into consideration he also came back from huge fight against alien civilization and tried to fit back into society. It's a lot to process even for adult people.
@@Tesoro1996 He's talking about physical beatings. Most of the hits Tom took were from Mysterio's illusions, besides getting hit by the train which almost killed him. Toby also got hit by a train in a deleted scene in SM2 and shrugged it off like it was nothing(Not talking about him stopping the train). Even emotionally, Toby has endured far more abuse than Tom could even imagine. Tom's enemies don't even care about him and see him as nothing more than a dumb kid or an inconvenience. Toby's enemies, like Venom and Harry hold a serious grudge against him.
You know what's funny? Tom Hardy's Venom mentioned that all symbiotes are one giant hivemind across ALL universes aka the multiverse. Basically, Tom's Venom is aware of everything that happened to Topher's, including this fight. That's also why he says "That guy..." to Holland's Spider-Man. He recognizes him as a variant of Tobey's Spider-Man.

I wouldn't say it's a theory. That's literally how they will tie these films together. We will see more of these tie-ins with Möbius too (as he is famously one of the ways Blade becomes a hybrid vampire and known as the Daywalker). The new one is literally a celebratory remix of "One More Day..." but hopefully with an ending that is satisfying and makes sense. With the added elements of the multiverse and film series of Spider-Man coming into the fold.

At post credits, you can see Tom’s Venom disappearing somehow, after talking about some stuff.
He knows about Tobey Spidey, but he wants to talk with Tom Holland Spidey.
I know this wasn't a lot of people's favorite version of Venom, but god, I love how intensely primal and eldritch Raimi made it come off. Feels like a genuine monster. And that scene at 2:49, where Venom just makes these horrific noises and begins rising with mass, is utterly terrifying. It might not be comic accurate, but Raimi can make a hell of a horror out of a comic book movie.
Yet it behaves like an scorned ex-girlfriend.
idk if you already knew but the alternate scene wa s’more gruesome. Peter would’ve stabbed venom right thru the heart but then his face would’ve pulled back to reveal that it had rotted away eddie’s skin leaving only his skeleton. The symbiote would’ve then tried to bond with Peter again but he shoots a web and pulls down and thing full of pipes and they stab into eddie’s skull but also stab into the symbiote and ultimately kills him. they obviously removed it bc test audiences said it was too gruesome and too scary.

Agreed. Even though Raimi didn't originally want Venom to be in this movie, he still did the best he could and I think he did an incredible job still. Having the man who made The Evil Dead bring Venom to life is amazing. He gave Venom a truly fearful feeling for audiences.
Peter had such a good heart - instead of outright killing Venom when he had the upper hand, he tried to save Eddie first. Even though Eddie/Venom just killed his best friend.
Because he knew the symbiote was affecting his mind. Eddie was a jerk, but the symbiote made him a psychopath

2:38 people don't realize how *Strong* tobey had to be to literally pull out Eddie away from the symbiote, and he's literally using 1 hand // definitely strongest Spiderman.
I would bet that Tobey at his prime would have given Thanos (without glove) a better fist fight than Hulk.
Not so sure considering Tom's spidey held a ship together and despite being wounded heavily still survived all of the 5 villains breaking out

Unpopular opinion but I love the venom design in this movie, I like how they kept the webbing from the black suited spider man and gave him a more realistic horror like feel

It's really neat. So detailed and cool. Can tell they had to go over it many times to get to the final look. While for the 2018 design I honestly feel the team just picked up the first concept someone came up with.

Harry's death is often complained about, but it's actually the best way to end his arc over the entire trilogy. His father died by his own glider while trying to kill Peter, he died by his own glider while trying to save him.
"None of that matters now Pete, you're my friend." Harry has completely forgiven Peter, forgiveness and revenge, are, after all, the themes of this movie.

I complain about Harry's death not because he shouldn't have died, but because the scene itself is dumb: Peter's legs aren't even tied down, nothing should have prevented him from getting out of the way of that attack. Even IF he couldn't move, Harry didn't have to save Peter by jumping in front of the blades, he could have just knocked Venom out of the way...

The look on Peter’s face at 2:34 says it all. Letting out all his rage by whacking those two poles with full force after watching his best friend sacrifice his life for you. He knows what can hurt venom and he does it in the worst way possible. You can just tell how angry he is by his facial expressions. Tobey Maguire is such an amazing actor.

Those first 20 seconds with Peter trying to locate Venom was genius. Even though Raimi didn't want to do Venom in this movie, he still did a good job making the character terrifying. Those 20 seconds is a perfect example from the comics on how the Spider-Sense is unable to alert Peter whenever Venom is going to strike. Imagine if they had Venom as the only villain. It could've been like horror movie with Raimi's Evil Dead material.
Especially since this Venom wasn't a anti hero his whole thing was surrounded by making Peters life hell
I agree. Although Sam Raimi never wanted venom in the movie he still did a good job making him terrifying. Tom Hardy’s venom it’s just some kind of joke. He lacks the terrifying part, and also it’s nothing like Spider-Man.

Well, that's the point of most superheroes. They try to be the better people by not killing their enemies, regardless if whether or not the villains deserved to die.
Think of Batman and his longtime archnemesis, the Joker. Both have different ideologies about society and how people should act. The Joker has a belief in which even the most civilized people can suddenly become animals, which is why he wants Batman (or some other superhero like Superman and Wonder Woman) to kill someone, even if it's not Joker himself.

2:59 Gotta love the look on Peter's face here. This was the moment he realized...He was wearing that thing on his bare skin the whole time! An alien creature he knows absolutely nothing about that he let manipulate him and Eddie. Not to meantion the death of his best friend as well! This creature made him lose so much in so little time!

2000-2010 were the best years of my life. Halo, anime, (*NOT A WEABOO*) this version of Spider-Man, and many more things. In 2002, when I was 10, my mom would always take me too Walmart to get the movie figures for each movie. I miss those days.

Out of all the Raimi trilogy Spiderman 3 gets me the most emotional. From Sandman's love for his daughter, Redemption of Harry, Sandman's emotional scene with Peter at the end, Harry's death. But from all the movies the lessons Aunt May tells Peter always gets me emotional too.

Even though Venom should have been bigger and got his trademark tongue, I really liked his look in this movie. Making him look like an evil Spider-Man (i.e. the webbing on his arms and the spider symbol) were nice touches too.

2:15 I love this shot. There are times when Sam Raimi straight up abandons logic or realism in favor of style to tell his story, and this is a really good example.
It starts with a great little action sequence, as Peter plants the first four pairs of pipes, each time moving to cut off Venom's escape.
But then those last five pipes seemingly plant themselves in rapid succession. It doesn't make sense logically or believably. But it's not trying to be logical or believable, it's just telling the story: "Peter traps Venom in a circle of ringing pipes!" Kind of like filling the space between panels in a comic book.
Sam Raimi and Spider-Man are just a very good match.
Peter clearly shoved those last few pipes into the ground 🤦♂️

Puts in perspective how durable Peter is to take one of those grenades point blank in the face in SM1, while Harry was left with a scar. Eddie was completely vaporized.

Spider-Man>New Goblin>Eddie (without symbiote)
Well, at this point, both Peter and Harry were superhumans with increased durability. When thrown at normal humans, the pumpkin bombs were shown to disintegrate people. Eddie Brock is a normal man without the symbiote suit and one of the symbiote's weaknesses is fire, so it makes sense that the explosion would kill them both.

I think it was a different variant of pumpkin bomb. This one seemed more like the one that norman threw at the board members rather than the standard high explosive one that Harry and Peter took to the face.
I don't know why this movie gets so much hate. This scene was a masterpiece: the CGI looks so realistic (we didn't see that good CGI in Homecoming, still, I loved it), the actors did it well, Venom was intimidating, the music is great, and it goes on, on, on... I really don't get it why people hate this movie.

yeah, not so sure about that. he didnt have a weapon to impale spiderman until harry rode in and got yeeted instantly. spiderman broke free of the webs without harrys help shortly after, using the same method to rid brock of venom that he used to save himself. all he really got from harry is a good bomb to blow venom up with. good thing he taught peter how to use them too, as evident in the left side of his face

3:07-3:10 I actually really like how well done that plead with Peter is. All movie, he's called him Parker. Here, he calls him Peter, cause he truly is scared to lose the suit here. It gave him purpose. You can tell Brock by the end here really just wanted what the Symbiote gave him which was a chance to do something worth doing with his life. It's a shame Venom was written a little TOO evil in this film and basically had to be killed off. I don't think Topher's performance as him was bad but the script they gave him was not very good as Sam Raimi openly admitted, he didn't really understand the character but was essentially forced to do it by Sony. Unfortunate all around.
Well in the comics eddie brock has cancer and venom helped stop that so this is the whole reason he likes the symbiote in the first place because it stopped his cancer. just a little comic venom trivia

It’s honestly one of the more clever ways Peter defeated the Symbiote. It’s ability to latch to everything around it doesn’t help when it’s encircled by giant pillars of noise. It was just very good on the spot entrapment.
This Venom honestly scares me more than the newer one. Especially the maw. The newer Venom is too comedic.

Not gonna lie, the now-hostless Venom Symbiote in this clip is absolutely terrifying. The combination of tendrils going haywire, the disjointed but alien mass giving it an eldritch apperance and the sounds it makes-which sound like the gargled mess of it's two previous hosts' own screams of anger, fear & pain- all combine to create something truly inhuman.

One of the most underrated comic movies in history this sequel to be accurate was emotionally fantastic and the ost was so good for the black suit and sand man really one of the best and we r gonna see Sam Raimi again too after Tobey in Doctor strange in the Multiverse of Madness can't wait to see this one

What an amazing movie for 2007. Even the previous two were marvellous for the early 2000s. They truly perfected the trio, all of the cast fit perfectly to the actual characters. The music, fights, CGI, acting. Wow.
