    I visit your channel often to learn techniques that will help as I develop my style of card making, But I realized to day as I was listening to this tutorial that I come also for the destressing that I experience as I listen to you. Today was an over the top day; so I decided listening, not crafting, listening not designing, listening not thinking about our world, just listening and here I am at the end of the video with another Bright Light Moment. And I survive another day to bring beauty into the world. Thank you Rebecca, I have held off from buying Deco Foils because no one gave me a reason to purchase. Bright Light that you are, has shown me how and why it is necessary to have in my design room as I take my card making craft to the next level. All of your inspirations will be noted and attributed when I am using the techniques I have learned from you. I have never been a groupie; because I am also a Star, times change and I am an RK Design Groupie. (LOL) Thank You for sharing your ART!

    Tip I got from Nancy stamps crafter is to use makeup brush to brush off dust on both the card stock and the foil. It helps avoid those missed spots.

    I just love your videos they’re incredibly helpful! I am very interested in the new The Ton Stamps layering stamps, and a video from you on these would be great if possible. I know a lot of card makers aren’t widely using their products but it’s just a suggestion as I think their idea for layering looks so much easier than the traditional layering stamps and dies. Thanks so much either way!

    In regards to the missed spots on the Unity toner sheets: If you use a Minc machine, you wouldn’t have that problem. Many people are convinced that it is BS that the Minc is better than a regular laminator, but it DOES work much better because of the roller placement (which differs from other laminators) and the greater amount of pressure those rollers provide. There is one thing you can try with a regular laminator so that your foiling project receives more pressure, which can improve your results: simply place a card stock shim under your foiling project, place that in your parchment paper and run it thru your machine as usual. Also, it is very important to make sure that your toner sheets & foil are as lint and dust-free as possible before foiling.

  • @candyclouston1412

    The looks more like deli paper than parchment (either cooking parchment, which is often brown, or writing parchment, which tends to be thicker). Is it deli paper?

    • @RebeccaKeppel
      @RebeccaKeppel  4 года назад +1

      It says Parchment Paper on the box.
      It's the kind you can use for baking cookies etc.
      Therm O Web does sell some perfectly cut sheets, but I grab a large roll from CostCo because I use it for baking and Foiling lol!

      Sometimes in the light they do look like there is a bit of iridescence to them! But they each definitely have their unique color. I'd say the most iridescent looking is the Prince Periwinkle.
      Thanks for watching until the end! :) Usually at the end of editing I need a laugh too lol!

    Absolutely stunning cards and designs.
    Love it. Love the foil but I don’t have a laminating machine, can I use a hot iron? Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards.

    • @RebeccaKeppel
      @RebeccaKeppel  4 года назад +1

      Thank you!
      If you don't have a laminating machine I would stick to the first few techniques of applying foil with the pressure of a die cutting machine or using the special adhesives that can transfer the foil just by burnishing with your finger. Then if you love that you can decide whether a laminator is worth it. They are pretty cheap these days.

    • @RebeccaKeppel
      @RebeccaKeppel  4 года назад

      Yup, you don't need either if you have some of the Therm O Web products. Then if you start to get addicted to foiling you can decide if either of them makes sense for the crafting you do. I had a laser printer but I never really used it with my foils because I like to do mainly cardmaking with stamps and dies. I do have a laminator still and love it for some foiling techniques but with the new Duo Gel it's not necessary at all!

    I’ve recently found your channel and I just want to thank you for such easy to follow techniques, design ideas and tips. Your videos are really inspirational. I love foil in small quantities but never had much luck with the outcomes so far, and have succumbed to a glimmer foil machine. Will definitely keep my eyes open for some adhesive backed foam for die cutting though, they looked brilliant.
