I loved the way Zach signed the name Aly. It looked like he was saying "I love you''. It is a beautiful reminder of how much you already love her😍 Congratulations on your miracle!
I adore the name Norah spelled with an h at the end. Nora Madison would be cute too. Madi as a nickname is cute with an i. Maddy is really common so the i is a little unique without being attention-seeking
Courtney you are GLOWING! Not even kidding, you look gorgeous! Besides that, I am so excited for you guys! It's been so fun to have been a fan for the past year as my ASL skills have grown and I can watch without subtitles more and more often now :)
I had a friend who did not decide on name for nearly almost 2 weeks. It was really cool to see that process because they had time to find out the personality of the child and the meaning as well. you will have a lot of time to love on a child before deciding the BEST name for the child.
I'm exciting for y'all. You guys decide on what plan for daughter are cute. I just become great aunt 4 days ago. Her name is Allison Raylynn. I haven't meet her yet until next weekend but saw the pictures. Oh my goodness, so cute happy baby. I know your will be too. I'm so happy for y'all!!
Hello! I have been learning ASL for about three years now, and am just now finding your channel! I absolutely love what you guys do, and adore the fact that you communicate through sign for all of your videos, regardless of who is in them! I hope I can be as fluent as you one day :)
There are so many great names, the ones you picked were all so good. I'm fond of the name Vivian Lucille, or Lucy, or Alice. I really think the middle name, or first name Jane is nice. I like Allie (but with an ie :)). Wishing you guys luck! I think even if it's not on your list, once you meet her one will come up with a name and the other will be like "that's it!" I've heard that happen to a lot of couples.
I'm due in the middle of April and have a very similar name list to you guys! It will be fun to see if we pick the same name for our girls! I'm wishing you guys the very best on your new journey!
I love short names like the ones on your list! I love the name Nora, you could also spell it Norah to be different than your cousin. Or Leah, which is similar? Another name similar to that, is Nova?? My name is Tori, so I'm partial to it, but it might fit well? Also Alice, which is similar to Aly (and Aly could be a nickname for), or Elle/Ella/Emma which are also similar. Eve/Eva/Eden are really unique and bite size names with sweet meanings. I'm sure whatever name you choose will suit your sweet girl perfectly! 😊
Omg I love that name sign for Nora 😍😍😍😍😍😍 My husband and I want to adopt a deaf baby in the future. All my other children have Spanish names because they’re Mexican but for a deaf baby who might be another ethnicity I’m more about picking a name that we just enjoy and has a nice meaning. I’ve always been partial to Rowan in particular, and Coraline, spelled Korraline, and Korra as a nickname (the last air bender lol).
This was the exact issue my hubby and I had we had our boy name set and then we liked alot of girl names but never felt one name was IT. In the end we decided the day after she was born right before we went home lol I caved to my husbands fave! I never really got that feeling that any name was IT and now her name has just grown with her! I have a feeling you'll end up with a little Madison Jane (which is beautiful) but I think Nora was my fave off your list. Good luck and congratulations ♥️
I normally wouldn't consider how a name is fingerspelled or what sign names could work with it, but it is very important. Thanks for giving me that new perspective! I love the name Anna Mae, I think it looks so cute written out.
Trust your instinct and recognize words around you as you think of names, you can be unique and discover a name that's suitable for your baby girl. For instance, I have always been fond of my name "Julia", which means "youthful". It is also considered strong-willed, faithful, and beautiful. When you sign its name, it flows majestically and there's rhythm + beauty in the language. Thank you for sharing your insights about baby naming. I wish you both the best of luck :)
My daughter's middle name is Grace and I love it so much that I often call her that. (We wanted our kids to have biblical middle names) Her first name was a compromise, and now it just fits her perfectly. Whatever you pick, you'll grow to love.
First want to say ily, You guys are so sweet!!! I had the same problem when naming my daughter. Only you guys will know the right name for her, but what helped us is using it a few time for a few days and using it in conversation, like Zach is doing with Madison, that helped to know if 1. We would like it and 2. If it felt right for our daughter too. Using it while she's still with you Courtney, in utero, you feel her every movement and have a good sense of her... try a name out and you'll figure out quick what works and what doesn't. Sending prayers you find a name that works best for your family. 🤟🏻🙏🏻
My names are : Carter, London, August, or Zoella. I am on my second semester of taking ASL. I absolutely love your channel! It is not only interesting and fun, but it gives me a deeper look into the community I will be diving into. I have a very long list of baby names, but I specifically chose these 4 because they are short, don't take much effort to spell, and have zero i's and e's😊 Love your sweet family!!❤️
Nora is a beautiful name! I personally love the names Ophelia (I don't expect you to consider that because the fs pattern is a NIGHTMARE), Dawn, Thea, and Alina. The last three all coincidentally mean "light" or "first appearance of light"!
Zaney !!!!! My daughter. Mylee. (Mike and Leanne). Combination name of both parents ! Love names with meaning and the child is the complete of both of you and the name just adds some much to that ! ❤️👼
idk Brooklynn sounds like a pretty nice name...lol i know she's already hear but i just found your channel and I've been bingeing your videos.you guys will be amazing parents. God bless you :))
So funny about the -ie names!! My name is Kellie spelled with an -ie and always loved jt and felt like it made me more unique to have an -ie instead of -y. My mom also has an -ie name so we get to share that which I love! (Also now I’m overthinking my finger spelling and it my thumb sticks out for my i’s!!😂😂) How interesting to think about names as not just the sound but how they feel and look fingerspelled and how they look written! I won’t put an opinion here on a name though, I loved all your ideas! I do agree that when she is born one name will just feel right!!💕
You guys are so cute talking about a name for your baby! We went to the hospital with our top 3 list and the baby wasnt named until we were leaving! My sons name is Landen. We chose that after 3 days in the hospital! You will know once you see your baby! ❤
I just want to say congratulations. I am not sure why this came up to my feed but I am also in a deaf hearing relationship and just had a baby girl. That is crazy haha.
Congratulations you two! I know a couple who recently named their daughter Lenora, which is a lovely name making a comeback that could be shortened to either Nora or Lena. Since you already liked Nora, I thought you might like the long form.
I really like Madison Jane 🥰🥰🥰 . Maisie reminds me of the the kids show i instantly think of the cute white mouse. I think MJ has cute initials. Courtney keeps choosing ie names that was funny. Awww the bump looks so cute im so happy for you guys!!! I cant wait to see the final name
My favorite finger spelled name is LILO! It’s so cute and so easy for her to learn. I like Aly too! Nora is cute but is becoming popular. I like unique names. :) I love Maisie too!
i never considered the extra thought you guys would have to put into choosing a name because of fingerspelling! that makes it even more challenging...but I know you guys will find the perfect name!! ❤️
I agree with Zach, love the name Madison. Not biased or anything ;) but my dad wanted to be a little more unique and spell it with an e, so its Madisen. Good luck though, you'll know when you know. Thanks for sharing!
My daughter's name is Lydia and when I first started learning ASL I thought it was easy and quick to spell, on your list I like Nora, we have a friend whose daughter is Norah and I have always thought it was pretty :)
Some great girl names with meaning! Clara -bright, Ada -noble and sweet, Elora -light, Nola -fair shoulder, Zula -brilliant (all easy sign names that go great with Jane as a middle name)
Love the names. My nephew wasn’t named until he was born almost 3 years ago, he will be 3 in February and it will be the same for his sibling that is coming in March!
I was going to be named Rachel but when I came to the United States I didn’t look like a Rachel so I became Amy Kathryn (Kathryn is after my maternal Grandma).
My name is Kari. I love watch boths video .. I like Mia or Nora or Kara . Simple and sweet call voice name.. but no matters .. 😃 congrats! Boths parents ! 👶🍼
One of my favorite names to finger spell is Hannah. I think the meaning is “grace” which I think is nice. (And sounds very pretty in English, in my opinion) Congrats guys! 💕
Elise, Elora and Nora are my top picks 🥰 2 for you both to argue over and my favorite of all the names you both mentioned😂. Maybe praying about it? God could give you her name. ❤
We just had our daughter at the beginning of December and I was so torn between our two girl names. We ended up with the name we choose a few years ago Lilly Alaina Other names on our also long list were: Freya: also called the “last of the Romantic travelers,” Freya Stark was the first European woman to enter Iran. Her name also belongs to the Norse goddess of beauty and love.) Alora/Elora Ruby Ivy Cecily Juniper (Junebug,Junie for short/nicknames) Livi Cecilia
My daughters name is Maesyn, and we sometimes call her Mae for short! Its unique/but yet a common name (even if it is for boys haha). I love the name Jane for a middle name!!
2 things. I love that, Maesyn or even Mayson. Also you spell your name the same way!!! That never happens I never see people with the same spelling. That's so cool
OurSignedWorld thanks, though it a lovely name ☺️ wish you guys the very best when your daughter born as I’m from UK and I watch your vids all the time ,much love 🤟 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hahaha, my hubby & I had that hardest time picking names. Nora is really pretty. Our eldest is a Makayla & we call her Mak for short. She's a teen & just recently told me how she LOVES her nickname. Enjoy all these sweet the moments you two. They are precious.
1st - Bailey has become a much more accepted girls name, and 2nd - Haven (Olde English for a place of safety.) As a 1st grade teacher I see a lot of the names you mentioned in school. I have a student named Nora in my class this year. I also named my 26 year old daughter Madison long before it became so popular. So many of the old Victorian names are coming back in fashion. Try digging into your ancestry a little more to see what matches with your last name or connects to a well-loved relative! The best stories are about how you were named.
From my favorite tv show there’s Isabeau and Tamsin. For Isabeau they just ended up shortening it to Bo most of the time. Not sure if they spelled it like that or still as beau, can’t remember.
Picking a name is so hard! Here are a few I like: Felicity (means happiness) Ashton Isla Angela (my name but I love it) Kelly Nicole Good luck on choosing! 🤟🏻
awww omg i’m so happy for you guys!! also such cute names! nora beth is cute and has a ute meaning. my sister told us she was pregnant in november & she was five weeks then so now she’s a little over 20 weeks & i found out a week ago she’s having a boy!!! i was hoping for a girl but i’m still very excited. :) so many women are pregnant rn and a lot are having boys 😂 if anyone knows any cool boys names that would be nice.
i have an old lady name, louisa, which has been super great because it's cool and i have not ever met another louisa in my life. i really love norah jane! my little sister is named after charlotte in charlotte's web, so after a book character is always an option! courtney, you are making this child, you should get the Final final say. much luck to you both!
My name is Madeline, but I go by Della. And my middle name is Elyse, which is pretty easy to finger spell, and would go well with Jane. Elyse Jane. Whatever you pick, I'm so excited for you guys. Much love 🤟🏼💕
My favorite name to finger spell is "Lily", I think it flows together beautifully and I've meet a Lily who's name sign was a play on the "I love you" sign and I just fell in love with the idea! I also LOVE the name Maisie!
Obviously I love how my name is spelled, but I like how you spelled Caylin, that’s really pretty and I’ve never seen it spelled that way before. Also Caylee is a cute name too!
My husband and I are expecting our second this summer, and I gotta tell ya, I kinda LOVE the fact that y’all have to consider finger spelling as an aspect to naming your daughter. It’s going to make her name even more special when you find it, because of all the extra thought you have to put into it. ☺️ Possible names: Moira (Destiny) Alva (Brightness) Elza (joy!) Freddie (this is my son’s name, but I think Freddie Jane is a knockout name combo of cuteness!) Lyra (🎶) If our new baby ends up being a girl, we plan to name her Linux Cassidy (my husband is a programmer 😆). Good luck!
I wanted the name Maisie for my daughter too! My husband said it sounded like a horse name. We named her Molly. Also she’s your baby and you can pick how you spell nicknames. So you can name her Madison and call her Maddy. Doesn’t have to be Madi. Anyways so I’m so excited for you guys! Makes me think about when we were pregnant with our first!
A name I've always loved is Olenna. It feels good to finger spell. Another is Leona or Ava. I heard a name the other day and it was Mila and it was another name that feels good to fingerspell. I hope this helps!
I absolutely love the name Willow and i think its pretty easy to sign. Its such a gorgeous name and still pretty unique. either way, whatever you name your baby girl will be perfect :)
I feel like Zach likes names that start with M. What about Macy? Easy to spell, it has a "y" and no "ie". However, it means Weapon in French culture but Happy and Upbeat in American culture.
you can name your daughter Farisa or Starla. I did name those to my two amazing daughters. Right now they are in their teenagers! Time went flew by so fast! :( Starla is my oldest one and Farisa is my youngest one. :) I named my son Dekota not Dakota too many name of that so I m glad it is Dekota. Cant wait to see your vlog once your daughter born and wonder find out what her name would be. :)
I don’t know why but this seriously just blew my mind, Zach can give his daughter her name sign! Kind of crazy, but that just adds another layer to them picking her name
Kayleigh is a hit song by Marillion, one of my favorite bands. As a result of making a lot of friends of other Marillion fans, I now know 6 Kayleighs, the oldest is 29, the youngest is 11 - so not too common. My sister in law was Jane (she passed away 9 years ago), and my mother in law called her Janie, not Jane. There's another IE for Zach to get annoyed at people fingerspelling a Y instead of an I (which I totally understand!!). When my children were born, they called her AJ, short for Aunt Jane. You'll probably hear a lot of other people tell you they struggled with a name. For my oldest, my husband said 'if it's a boy, THIS is his name. There was no entertaining other names, he was adamant about the name (which I wasn't thrilled with), but his name does fit. I picked his middle name, which is my husband's first name. (we didn't find out gender either time) My younger son, we both agreed we wanted an Irish name , so I bought Irish baby name books and had a caveat that the name couldn't be in the top 100 names the Social Security Administration published for the previous year. He was 5 hours old before my husband said 'he looks like a X Y" and I agreed. Silly me, that was name number 33 the year before, and my older son had FIVE boys with that same name in Kindergarten!!" He only had one classmate all through school with the same name. I really like Mackenzie.
I think that Nora is so pretty! This is my name, but I think that Eliza could be a good name for you. It is unique and not too long, although I am not sure how it signs. Love you guys!
I had a boy name picked out from the beginning, and then we had two girls. I agree -- there are so many cute choices. Our first is Adeline (Addie -- sorry, Zach), and people mispronounce it ALL the time. Adalyn(n) has become much more popular in the last few years, and people say her name with the short /i/ instead of the long. With our long last name, we went simple with our second: Kate (Katie 😂)
My husband and I are naming our daughter Emma June. Emma would be easy to sign, looks pretty in writing, and I love how soft it sounds 😍 the middle name June was what we picked first. His great grandmas name is June, we started dating in June, and got married in June so it was a must. The first name came later. Maybe try to pick the middle name first and see if that makes finding the first name any easier? I'm sure whatever you guys pick will suit her perfectly ❤
I love Maisie and Ally. I gave my daughter a long name - Lillian and my Deaf friends just end up signing her initials LMJ or her name sign ( almost a combo of I love you and laugh).
I think Nora Grace sounds really nice together. Grace meaning eloquence or beauty of form, kindness, mercy, and favor. Together it would be light of eloquence or kindness.
I loved the way Zach signed the name Aly. It looked like he was saying "I love you''. It is a beautiful reminder of how much you already love her😍
Congratulations on your miracle!
Aww yeah :)
i thought the same thing, about how close fingerspelling “Aly” looks like 🤟🏼
Nora is definitely my favorite name on your list! It’s adorable, easy to sign, and the meaning is beautiful. 💕
Thanks :))
I really like Beth- it means home or house. It would be cute with Nora (Nora Beth) and mean lighthouse!
THATS CUTEEE
Also means pledged to God!
Ellen Thieme omg yes!!!!
I never considered the fs aspect of choosing a name 😮 thanks for broadening my perspective of the Deaf culture
Of course :)
I’m so excited for you guys!! I love the name Lily for the way it’s finger spelled. Also Nora Jane is at the top of my list for my future baby girl.
Kasey Goormastic I love that fingerspelling!!!
Thanks!:)
I adore the name Norah spelled with an h at the end. Nora Madison would be cute too. Madi as a nickname is cute with an i. Maddy is really common so the i is a little unique without being attention-seeking
What abougàt Zourney. Mix of Zach and Courtney. The meaninj is An adventure
Courtney you are GLOWING! Not even kidding, you look gorgeous! Besides that, I am so excited for you guys! It's been so fun to have been a fan for the past year as my ASL skills have grown and I can watch without subtitles more and more often now :)

A note about Nora... the name Nur also means light, from the same root. And it a bit more different.
Ooo cool
I genuinely love all the names you guys picked!
Eliza is pretty too!
Awww thank you!!!
Just found this channel and it is so sweet! Congrats on your sweet baby girl!
Maisey! Satisfies the need for a Y. I actually know one that is a few months old. Very cute name.

Freya: also called the “last of the Romantic travelers,” Freya Stark was the first European woman to enter Iran. Her name also belongs to the Norse goddess of beauty and love.)
Alora/Elora
Ruby
Ivy
Cecily
Juniper (Junebug,Junie for short/nicknames)
Livi
Cecilia
My daughters name is Maesyn, and we sometimes call her Mae for short! Its unique/but yet a common name (even if it is for boys haha). I love the name Jane for a middle name!!
2 things. I love that, Maesyn or even Mayson. Also you spell your name the same way!!! That never happens I never see people with the same spelling. That's so cool
Yess I love that!!!
I feel like a and m of first name fits your daughter and omg love mackenzie name so much!
- Maddie
- Fiona
- Mila
-mackenzie
Thanks 😊
Love Nora Jane! My husband vetoed the name Nora and we eventually settled on Lilah.
I really like the names Aurora and Anne. Also Nora is my favourite name on your list.
Thanks :))
I’m so excited for you guys!! I ordered a onesie for you too and I hope you will receive it soon ❤️🤟🏼 P.S. I vote for Ally 😊
Aww that was you!!! I saw someone ordered something on amazon! That’s so kind of you!!! Thanks so much 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Can’t wait for the birth! I can tell the baby will be beautiful.
If you would like to hear my one name suggestion it would be “Isabella” that’s all.
Love it :) thanks
My name is Macy and yes I agree that I hear more dogs named that then other people but it’s still a great name and really pretty for a girl!
I think Maisy would be super cute! That way he gets the Y and you get the unique name you love!
Zach - next time you come present to my students I'll have to show you my sign name so you don't deal with the "ie" in "Natalie" LOL!
Lol Natalie is typically IE so that’s okay but it’s if a letter could be y or IE
There a name that I liked .. Ziva - it’s a Hebrew name for “radiance, brilliant, light and brightness” ... if I had a daughter I would name her 👍😊
Beautiful name
OurSignedWorld thanks, though it a lovely name ☺️ wish you guys the very best when your daughter born as I’m from UK and I watch your vids all the time ,much love 🤟 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hahaha, my hubby & I had that hardest time picking names. Nora is really pretty. Our eldest is a Makayla & we call her Mak for short. She's a teen & just recently told me how she LOVES her nickname. Enjoy all these sweet the moments you two. They are precious.
Love it!!! Thanks:)
Thanks for sharing 😊
From my favorite tv show there’s Isabeau and Tamsin. For Isabeau they just ended up shortening it to Bo most of the time. Not sure if they spelled it like that or still as beau, can’t remember.
Unique :)
I have a Madison and we shorten it to Madi so of course that’s my fave!! I love Nora too!
🥰
I think Nora is a beautiful and unique name!!
Thanks!
Picking a name is so hard! Here are a few I like:
Felicity (means happiness)
Ashton
Isla
Angela (my name but I love it)
Kelly
Nicole
Good luck on choosing! 🤟🏻
Thanks!!!
Luna is a really pretty name and easy to sign :)
Very true :)
awww omg i’m so happy for you guys!! also such cute names! nora beth is cute and has a ute meaning.
my sister told us she was pregnant in november & she was five weeks then so now she’s a little over 20 weeks & i found out a week ago she’s having a boy!!! i was hoping for a girl but i’m still very excited.
Thanks so much! Hahahah
My name is Madeline, but I go by Della. And my middle name is Elyse, which is pretty easy to finger spell, and would go well with Jane. Elyse Jane. Whatever you pick, I'm so excited for you guys. Much love 🤟🏼💕
Aww Elyse is so cute
@@chelsey8737 Thanks! 🙏🏼
I love that!!! Thanks
My favorite name to finger spell is "Lily", I think it flows together beautifully and I've meet a Lily who's name sign was a play on the "I love you" sign and I just fell in love with the idea! I also LOVE the name Maisie!
My Lilly's name sign is almost a combo of I love you and Laugh
Lily is beautiful. Our best friends daughters name is liliana but we call her lili.
Just found your channel and love it! I’m going to suggest Ayla or Ruby. Just Y no I lol
Obviously I love how my name is spelled, but I like how you spelled Caylin, that’s really pretty and I’ve never seen it spelled that way before. Also Caylee is a cute name too!
Thanks ;)
My husband and I are expecting our second this summer, and I gotta tell ya, I kinda LOVE the fact that y’all have to consider finger spelling as an aspect to naming your daughter. It’s going to make her name even more special when you find it, because of all the extra thought you have to put into it. ☺️
Possible names:
Moira (Destiny)
Alva (Brightness)
Elza (joy!)
Freddie (this is my son’s name, but I think Freddie Jane is a knockout name combo of cuteness!)
Lyra (🎶)
If our new baby ends up being a girl, we plan to name her Linux Cassidy (my husband is a programmer 😆). Good luck!
Fun. Unique. Love it
I wanted the name Maisie for my daughter too!
Thanks so much
Have you guys played around with one of those tinder for baby name apps? I saw another RUclips couple do that and it looked kinda fun
I just saw that last night!!! Lol
A name I've always loved is Olenna. It feels good to finger spell. Another is Leona or Ava. I heard a name the other day and it was Mila and it was another name that feels good to fingerspell. I hope this helps!
Oh that is fun to fingerspell
I absolutely love the name Willow and i think its pretty easy to sign. Its such a gorgeous name and still pretty unique. either way, whatever you name your baby girl will be perfect :)
Beautiful! Thank you so much
what about ava!? brooke?! ahhh i can't wait i am soooo so happy fr you guys
I feel like Zach likes names that start with M. What about Macy? Easy to spell, it has a "y" and no "ie". However, it means Weapon in French culture but Happy and Upbeat in American culture.
Hahaha it’s true! Lol oh no!
you can name your daughter Farisa or Starla. :)
How fun!!
I don’t know why but this seriously just blew my mind, Zach can give his daughter her name sign! Kind of crazy, but that just adds another layer to them picking her name
So true!
(we didn't find out gender either time)
My younger son, we both agreed we wanted an Irish name , so I bought Irish baby name books and had a caveat that the name couldn't be in the top 100 names the Social Security Administration published for the previous year. He was 5 hours old before my husband said 'he looks like a X Y" and I agreed. Silly me, that was name number 33 the year before, and my older son had FIVE boys with that same name in Kindergarten!!" He only had one classmate all through school with the same name.
I really like Mackenzie.
Hey!! Thanks so much for sharing your stories! I loved reading them!!!
Oh and Courtney, there is a really cute series of children's books where the main character is Maisy. (Lucy Cousins is the author.)
Love it!
Yeah those are popular now:)
Love Love Love your vlog!!!! My middle name is Madison but with two D's!! What about Brooke? It is easy to spell with two O's just saying...
I know right! Lol
My daughters are Ridley Adele, Scarlett Anlee, and London Evangeline (also Evie for short)
Beautiful!!
To go off of Nora, I’ve thought of the name Eleanora; which also means shining light of bright light. And I also love the name Eleanor. ❤️🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Yeah beautiful
I love the name Brooklyn, idk it just seems to fit with you guys, and you could call her brook for short!
That’s so cuteee
I'm naming my daughter after my grandmother Ella my second great grandma was also named Ella. In Hebrew it means God is my light.
Beautiful
@@OurSignedWorld Its a very old name like mine Bethany
@@OurSignedWorld Ella also means Goddess as well in other religions it also means not of this world and beautiful fairy
Cuteee!!! Yeah good idea
That is nice :)
We have a Serena Kaylee. Or Amanda Renee. Amanda means "Much Loved" and Renee means "Reborn" or "Born Again". What about Kerrin? (It means pure).
Love those meanings👍🏼
