- Zach and I having been looking for the best baby monitor for a while now, contacting various companies, trying to find one that will alert Zach when the baby is crying. After searching for a few months, we finally found one that DOES IT ALL! It has several features that we love. It provides alerts for when/if the baby's face is covered or rolls over, danger zone detection, temperature and humidity alerts, but for us, our favorite is the cry detection alerts. With Zach being Deaf, we wanted a device that would alert and vibrate his apple watch notifying him when our baby is crying. This monitor and app does exactly that! We couldn't be happier with this product.

Babies are smart. They learn fast on if there parents are Deaf or not. They know who to cry for or when kick there fit in the stroller or bed to make it vibrate. If co-sleeping the baby will learn to tap:smack he parent to wake up if they need them, instinctively. It’s the first few months until the baby has arm and leg control that’s more challenging. Glad you found this product I will for sure be looking into it. Blessings to you and your little one ! One thing I used a lot was a Moses basket type thing and I used move the baby from room to room to stay in visual sight. They got use to the sounds and slept through everything. :)

Awww that’s wonderful for you guys to have! Luckily nowadays you have the best technology. I remember when my kids were babies, I had to wear my hearing aid at night to “hear” the monitor next to my bed. It was sooooo frustrating to me because our neighbor across the street had a cb radio and it would interfere the monitor and my kids father and I could hear conversations going on, but ofc I couldn’t understand the words. I’m so happy nowadays they make it so much better. Good on baby girl coming soon! 👶🏼

It is very exciting to prepare for your first baby! I love modern technology and all the things out there that can help us as parents. One I really wish they had out for my second child was the owlet sock but it was still in its testing phase. I wish you a smooth labor. I was getting a kick out of watching your baby shift positions during the video (leaning more to your left and up and then shifting back to the center).

My husband is Deaf and I am a hearing interpreter and we welcomed our daughter into the world just about 10 months ago. We had the same issue trying to find a a really good Deaf-friendly baby monitor. Honestly, during the first several weeks the baby is just going to want to eat when she wakes up during the night and there is no way that your mom radar will not go off when she cries so if you are breastfeeding there's not much that dad can do at that moment. I would sometimes wake up my husband to change her diaper after I finished feeding her or if she was still restless after being fed to walk around with her but really it is best to only have one sleep-deprived person in the house as much as possible so that he has the energy to take care of you and whatever else needs taking care of during the day. We ended up getting a vtech baby video monitor. It comes with 2 cameras and the monitor has a full screen to see baby. When needed my husband just keeps the monitor with him and occasionally checks though he also has a cochlear so he can detect when she is crying during the day from the monitor. The Cubo paired to the watch is cool too if you don't mind wearing watches to bed. We decided against a smart monitor due to privacy concerns. Hope it works out well for you. Enjoyed watching this! My sister had her 2nd baby on March 7, 2020 at 1:30AM, her due date was March 8, 2020 and her 1st son was born on February 16, 2017 at 4:01AM. I was able to FaceTime them and am able to hear them with my right sided cochlear implant sound processor.

I’m pregnant with my second baby and due in a few weeks! Our nursery was still girly from our daughter (we are having a boy this time!) but I decided not to worry about redecorating it till after he was born. So I spent a few days sorting thru everything and setting it all back up for the new baby and as soon as I was done (and starting to feel calm and prepared) my husband decided he would start a complete renovation of the room...including taking a wall out to make it bigger!!! 😳 So now I’m just living in a construction zone that hopefully doesn’t last too long lol

Yes good question! We will do this every now and again. We’ve received lots of comments and messages on Instagram of people wanting me to simcom. We won’t do it for every video though

As of right now only zach can be in the room! We are hoping that doesn’t change. No visitors allowed in the hospital at all 😭

Courtney- why have you started sim-com”ing” or signing and voicing at the same time? Is it related to the your baby? I know in your earlier videos you didn’t.
Just a potential thought. One reason could be that it takes a lot less time to caption videos when you have an automatic script that you can edit instead typing up the entire sign to English transcript.

As a hearing person, I always thought baby monitors are one of the most useless inventions ever just because it's hard not to ignore a baby screaming (like many people, I do find it one of the most unbearable noises ever), unless you live in a big house and need something to relay it in an effective way.
Well, I've been wrong up until this very instant. I can now *see* why baby monitors are important, and also how much of a struggle they can pose to hearing-impaired people. I'm so grateful technology has improved this much!

They have button necklace for elderly people incase they have an emergency you should get one for moments just in case

@@OurSignedWorld they have necklaces that have a one click button. That send an alert to your phone. Similar to the monitor. So if you for example. Go get a cup of water or take a bath and can't call for him to help you if your in pain or need help. You can click the button and it will send an alert to him.

We actually bought the Cubo. I would suggest redoing this video because these baby monitors are the WORST. They are so expensive for something that doesn't work properly. I would suggest checking out the Amazon reviews. The ai doesn't work - it either gives so many false positives that you end up turning the notifications off just to get some sleep or it doesn't detect that your baby is actually face down. It always has trouble connecting to WiFi and has constant app errors. It also stops working randomly in the middle of the night and takes forever to login in to the app again or just doesn't. It was such a headache and we had to report so many issues. They even sent us a replacement, which did the EXACT same thing so we asked for a refund and were denied and offered another replacement. We have ZERO trust on this baby monitor and it has been frustrating and disappointing. BUY ANY OTHER BABY MONITOR!!
Wow that’s a bummer. We’ve used it for 4 almost 5 months and haven’t experienced those things. Our internet went out a few times so that obviously affected the connection to the monitor but that was spectrums fault. Haha
