There's not very many bands out there that have had as many hits as Aerosmith had in their first three decades together. They toured through their fifth, and that's pretty special. I'm glad I got a chance to see them a few times in the 90's because I gotta tell you, they played like they loved the audience, pulling songs out of their catalog that were hits, and some you thought you'd never hear live. Totally one of the best bands out there.
You know it’s big when there’s a whole roller coaster
Aerosmith was also in a 1994 video game Revolution X
Thanks for the music and the joy you've given us all.
How can anybody be surprised? He broke his larynx! Steven is 75 years old. I’m sure he’s not going to risk not even being able to talk for the rest of his life. I sure am happy I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s . I’ve seen them play many times . Got to meet Steven and Joe in a parking lot in Buffalo. What nice friendly laid back guys . Enjoy your retirement. Enjoy your family’s. You never know when you might bump into one of them coming out to see other bands . Thanks for all the great times and music
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well said. Btw, Tyler is actually 76.
@@Retro_Man_76 Oh ok . Thanks 😊
Toys in the attic was their third album. Get Your Wings was the second album.
ROCKS is an incredible album to this day...
Rocks is good but compared to Toys and Get your wings I felt like they peaked by the time they released Rocks
@@MattAttack54 I thoroughly disagree but we all hear things differently...
The best Aerosmith album for sure
@@andyandrew7557 The best one's the pink one with the robot.
KIDDING! It's Rocks.
One of their top records, amazing.
Saw Aerosmith and AC/DC at Alpine Valley in the late 70s. Awesome concert.
That was the show when Tom Hamilton got hit in the face with a football. They took a 10 minute break came back and finished the show. Class Act !
Saw them during their second run... in the Geffen era, on the Get A Grip tour. At that point they were already getting older but Steven was still doing backflips on stage... it was crazy.
Dude is a helluva frontman and will be considered one of the best for a long time.
Thank you Aerosmith! 😢😢😢
I love Areosmith they are one of the greatest rock bands of all time Areosmith will never be forgotten
There are many bands that need to follow Aerosmith's lead!
starting with Nikki Sixx's outfit
FF
They should've retired 15 years ago.
can only Agree?, even know I CANNOT stand the crap they have TODAY?, I can't watch Idols who have HAD they're DAY!, wanna continue?, nah, relax, let us still watch DVDs of ya Hey Day?.
Man this hurts to hear... * Rock and Roll will NEVER Die, but damn - This hurts!
RESPECT to Steven and the band - FOREVER!
* LONG LIVE SWEET EMOTION!!!
My first concert ever was Aerosmith. I was 16. It was at the palace of auburn hills. Pretty awesome for a first show. Thank you Aerosmith.
I was at that show when Sammy Hagar announced the retirement of Aerosmith in Clarkston Michigan. It was really cool hearing about his story of Aerosmith.
Listening to "Rocks" and smoking weed by myself late at night in my car. The music etched memories that are still with me today. No lead singer who sang with an edge in their voice ever had the longevity of Seven at that high level. No one. I have played for 45 years live myself on the average of 10 gigs a year. I cannot imagine the amount of times that guy has pushed his voice to the edge. Much respect, and epic appreciation. You.....are the freaking man.
Aerosmith is my favorite classic rock band of all time. the hard rock they did, the swing and blues, the country styles.
I grew up with them when my mother had bought me the greatest hits on CD, then i had to buy aerosmith on guitar hero wii as 12 year old.
then i had to buy pretty much every major album they had on CD as a kid at half priced books.
they were my gateway to rock music besides christian rock like skillet or audio adrenaline.
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are probably some of the most talented musicians to ever exist.
Ive been in a tight spot financially for a while and was planning on saving tickets to take my mom with me to chicago to see them on this farewell tour.... well now...
still gotta get that tobacco sunburst les paul that Joe grew up with.
Aerosmith is a legend and i love them all.
I love them all too. I like knowing younger people discover them. I've turned on both of my Sons to them. My oldest likes them a lot. My youngest likes some of their music. I mean they knew a few of their radio hits still played a lot but I've had them check out a lot of deep cuts.
Permanent Vacation!
Nobody's Fault.
First time I saw Aerosmith was in Hartford on 8-26-74. They opened for Deep Purple. Aerosmith did 2 encores and the crowd wanted more Aerosmith. Deep Purple were huge at the time and had met their match. 🙃
Deep Purple are a different type of band to Aerosmith. Both bands have had great stuff
I grew up listening to Aerosmith my mom and dad were big fans my and my 2 sisters still listening to them 30+ years later thank you for the great rock music
I am sad they retired, I hope that Steven is ok, that can not be easy. I am glad that I was able to see them live that was an awesome show, they deserve to enjoy life.
AEROSMITH ROCKS... My favorite album of all time
Jesus Christ this is so sad, please heal Steven youre the best singer alive and always will be the king of rock, ill pray that you heal and sing again, youre #1 fan
One of my favorite concerts I've ever been to. Thanks for the great Rock & Roll Aerosmith
I am 68 and been there from their beginning after all these years I still love to listen to the music. Much respect to you guys for knowing it's time. I had the privilege to meet Steven when I worked backstage as security but he didn't judge he spent almost 15 minutes just having a conversation with me incredibly nice and humble guy. Thank you guys for all the great music and the life memories around hearing it. Go man go and enjoy your well deserved rest don't worry you will never be forgotten.
50 years wow...legendary band.
I’m gonna miss seeing them live! One of the greatest bands to see in concert. Take care of yourself Steven.
Aerosmith was way before my time. I was born in the early 2000s, and most of the music I listen to is from around the same era (Three Days Grace, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, etc.). But I listen to music of all eras, and Aerosmith is definitely one of the best classic rock bands, up with The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Kiss, to name a few. Sucks that they can't finish their farewell tour, and it sucks that that is yet another band I love that I won't be able to see live.
Living legend, hope Aerosmith and Steven Tyler can enjoy their retirement.
Toys in the attic was their 3rd album. Their sophomore album was Get your wings
Been lovin' The "Smith", Since '73!
I stood right in front of Steven Tyler with my arms resting on the front of the stage at their first show in the Spokane Coliseum in the 1970s
You forgot about Get Your Wings lol but yes Toys in the Attic was their breaktrhough into the mainstream
Get your wings and toys in the attic two great albums back to back
@@MattAttack54 hell yea!
Tyler could have gone out and lip-synched like someone like Paul Stanley did. I appreciate Aerosmith's dedication to remaining true to their standards and not compromising them - like Paul Stanley did. they were never my favorite band, but I do enjoy them, and their impact is undeniable. I wish all of them well and good health.
The fact they are retiring as a band is telling. It’s the best way to end things.
I got to throw a necklace to Steven..I was that close. He picked it up and wrapped it around his wrist. . I was so pleased. Love Steven ! Be well! Enjoy retirement 🖤💙
These guys were true road warriors! I've seen them over ten times because they were always on tour! You could count on them to be put there and they f'n rocked every time! It sucks but all good things... I will miss them big time.
America’s GREATEST rock band 🇺🇸
Ever.
The greatest band out of America is Metallica. Aerosmith had the most albums sold for an American band but the best....not even close to Metallica. Peace.
I agree 💯. Along with Van Halen, Metallica, Alice Cooper, and Blue Oyster Cult. That's my top 5 American hard rock/metal bands.
You see me crying!😢
Aerosmith should be proud. Years of longevity and tons of hits. Aging sucks and it may not be the way you wanted to end it, but you had an amazing run. Thanks for the music.
Steve has had his issues in the past we all have but one thing I can say is Taylor and Perry are wonderful to their fans .I have has a small relationship with both in the past and they made a impact on me Thank you
*Tyler
One of the best 4 album runs in rock history. Aerosmith - Get Your Wings - Toys In The Attic - Rocks.
Draw The Line certainly belongs there too. I'd say best 5 album run 1973-1977.
My favorite band and favorite song of all time. Dream on ! Anthem of my life. Aerosmith will always be in my heart
Even though I was born in 1998, I grew up listening to mostly 2000s bands like Nickelback, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, & Creed. Also, I grew up listening to classic rock bands like AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Aerosmith. Aerosmith blew me away as a child and I still listen to it now as an adult. I’m very sad that Steven Tyler and Aerosmith are retiring which it sucks because I really want to go see them live. I just want to say thank you Steven Tyler and Aerosmith for an incredible 50 year career and thank you for your music that has helped me through dark times. You guys will always be legends!
Sophomore album was actually Get Your Wings
So sad legendary songs incredible band I love him sorry about your lungs sending prayers and love ❤️ 😢
Thank you Aerosmith (Steven Tyler is a great singer and will be missed.) I have been listening to Aerosmith since the 80s.
I've been listening to them from the beginning, and they were a great band!
🎉😢🎉😢
They will be missed by those who love and look forward to great live shows, but happy long
vacation ! They can keep writing and I look forward to Steven's grandson !
October 4th 1984
Worcester Mass
First show on the Back in the Saddle Tour with The Cult opening saying
" This is our first big show ever, we're scared shitless man..."
It was my first concert and ill never forget it.
Cheers guys, Thank You
maybe we'll see you around Wellsley for a Meeting, or perhaps in Newton for some Icecream❤❤❤
I’m so happy their retiring and nothing tragic happened it’s a shame they couldn’t go out with a bang but their music 🎶 will be around forever be joyful 😀 for that enjoy retirement guys you definitely deserve it ❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🫶🏻🎸🎶💞
I had the same injury in 1979 singing Zeppelin and other heavy covers. I feel for Tyler. Good stuff for a long while. Retire and enjoy what's next.
So so sad, but take care of yourself, your fans will be with you forever ❤️
Aerosmith is not my "cup of tea" personally, but I absolutely respect their contribution to music and the accolades they've achieved. They were inspirational to many bands who came after. I may not like most of their music, but I do respect it.
I like Aerosmith gonna miss them
It’s better to burn out,
Than fade away.
They've been doing it since the 70s. It's expected. They had a great run. Not many groups last that long and can still sell out shows. Amazing accomplishment. I've seen them a few times and they were great
Saw aerosmith with kiss at an outdoor event.
Fabulous ❤❤.
AEROSMITH ......saw them in the 70 s, 80 s, love you all....the best of the best..... DAMN fine hot good looking.....we will always rock on.. we're walking this way!!!💫💫💫🌟🌟🌟
My mom, sister and I were going to Aerosmith concert on Nov.6 here in Tulsa, Oklahoma couple days ago. My sister told us that Aerosmith has canceled their tour we are sad that the concert is canceled 😞
I saw them in the seventies at the Boston Garden. That was when they were the best. I saw them again in 1984 and 2007 they were okay.
Journey lucked up, and found a replacement.. But Steven Tyler cannot be replaced. It was a great ride of ups, and downs. They always came back stronger. . I'd much rather hear he retired, and is enjoying life, than any bad news. Retirement is not all that bad.
Steve keep rock n brother your amazing
He is the best of the best a real champion and legend ❤❤😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤😢😢😢😢😢😢
My heart is broken 💔
🎉🎉🎉Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Ive seen aerosmith once im glad i got to!!!!
Congratulations to Aerosmith most bands never get to retire
One of the best bands ever
My best are you aerosmith,, Have a good retirement stay safe.👍👍
Had a great run so lots to celebrate and commemorate. Can’t go on forever. Really.
I first saw them in 1976 and a total of 13 times since. Through the drug shows and the good, bad and the amazing
get your wings was the second album not toys in the attic
Iam glad I got to see Aerosmith 2X's the first time being adter there big come back & they were still young where I remember Steven Tyler was doing head or neck springs off the stage floor & it was just one hit song after another.
"Permanent Vacation" Tour Jan.20th 1988
Vancouver B.C.&
The "Pump Tour"
March 17th, 1990
Vancouver B.C
Both concerts were at The Pacific Coleseum
Vancouver B.C.🎸🔊
Great for you.
🇨🇦 had a huge part in Aerosmith's resurgence (the biggest comeback in entertainment history).
Permanent Vacation, Pump, & Get a Grip were all recorded in Vancouver,BC at Little Mountain Studios with Bruce Fairbairn, Mike Fraser & others.
Jim Vallance co-wrote many songs with Aerosmith.
@@sameold5050 Cheers from Canada🇨🇦🎸🔉🔊
Aerosmith's sophomore album was Get Your Wings released in '74 not Toys In The Attic, which was released in '75.
Steven Tyler’s voice is shot, no Joey Kramer, and Joe Perry can’t remember his guitar solos...
not to mention tickets 🎫 are in the hundreds of dollars. !! I’m glad I seen them 30 years ago when they were at their best....and tickets prices were MUCH cheaper
The same can be said for motley Crue which is one of my favorite bands. Vince has lost his edge for being the front man. Besides Mick Mars isn't in the band anymore so it's not the same.
Their second prime was probably better than their first as far as a performance standpoint they weren’t all twisted Woodstock 94 was probably their peak live playing during that time period
The last album I liked was Done With Mirrors and I've seen them live many times. Retire In Peace Aerosmith, you've certainly earned it.
My best band!!!
They were great in the early days, Toys In The Attic and Rocks. The rest were pretty mixed, usually at least 1 to 3 really good songs per album though.
I saw them in 1979. Van Halen opened. Even though most of my friends thought Van Halen blew them off the stage, I wholeheartedly disagreed, they were fantastic. Saw them 2 more times, in 1983 (with Crespo and Dufay) and in 1984 during the Back in the Saddle Tour. I also saw The Joe Perry Project in 1980. I have to admit, I thought they went downhill after the Done with Mirrors album. Never liked their Grammy stuff. Dude Looks Like a Lady, Ragdoll, Love in an Elevator...no thanks. They should have stayed more loyal to their Blues roots. Haven't bought an album from them since 1985. They were legendary.
I was 5 years old when that album came out
They’re an Awesome Band 🎤🎸🥁Interesting as well they were in a 1994 video game 🎮 Titled Revolution X.
Aerosmith true rock legends.
It’s about time.😫
My first concert was in buffalo on the rocks tour 74
Saw them in 1978 when they were one of the best live acts out there, then again a few years later while Joe was out of the band. Most people my age never accepted late 80s Aerosmith despite the hits. They deserve a lot of credit though for having two periods of huge success.
That's excellent. I was cleaning out my parent's old house a few months ago and found a ticket stub from that tour (78). I believe Golden Earring was the opener.
My First Aerosmith album was "Rocks".
This is a bummer for me because it's the end of a band that has been giving me great music for my entire life. Going to leave a void.
They had a good run, it would be nice to see them perhaps become mentors and revive the dying rock band scene.
I was excited to go see them, but I highly respect this move also. Knowing you can’t sound good live and retiring is the way to go. Look how sad it has been watching Motley Crue beat a dead vocalist for several years now.
I love them and I admit I was shocked when Joey was no longer with them. For me that was the end. Steven set the bar high with his vocals and unfortunately nobody's getting younger. It takes a lot to admit you can't do it anymore.
Steven’s comment about The Blue Army is a testament to the fact that their audience before Permanent Vacation was predominately male. In a comment about their Live in Columbus album from 78’, Steven said it was nothing but guys in blue jeans.
They obviously became very popular with the ladies in the late 80’s, I thought it was cool to acknowledge the people who made them early on. He obviously hasn’t forgotten them.
Their sophomore album was NOT Toys in 1975. Their sophomore was Get Your Wings in 1974. Toys was their third album.
Great Job Guys .. if it wasn't for Aerosmith. I'd be ⛽. God . Bless
When I witnessed them recording vocals one verse (sometimes one word) at a time, I knew they were done... and that was over 20 years ago. You're only sharp as a tack 'til you're not.
Aerosmith's early works are probably the best known, best loved, and maybe THE best of their output...however, it was their comeback in the mid/late 1980's and continuing into the 1990's that cemented them being the monster rock group that they are...if that had not happened, they would have been known as a band who had 2 or 3 great, influential albums in the early/mid 1970's, then fizzled out...not a bad thing itself, but the longevity would never have happened without that great comeback....
Toys was not their sophomore album. That would be "Get Your Wings".
Such a great band that fought constant battles with drugs, really surprised they made it through the 80’s. Mia, Seasons of Wither, so many awesome mystical ballads that rekindle timelines in your life. Glad they’ve decided to through in the towel finally, unlike Don Henley and the Eagles lip syncing for $200.00 a ticket.
I was in Pittsburgh when they did that now final show. Really wish I went now. Had to refund the Charlotte tickets.
But I have great respect for them admitting its time. Not many bands call it quits and actually go away. Steven made his money, he'll be okay. Joe still has his side project with Alice Cooper.
Toys in the Attic and Get a Grip are great rock and roll albums
technically they formed in new hampshire as tyler was in chain n rest was in jamm band except joey n happened around 69 they moved to boston
It's time to rest, the Lord works in mysterious ways ☄️🙏🏻
Lord of the thighs is my favorite Aerosmith song
I have to agree
Saw KiSS open for them and halfway thru Aerosmith's set half the crowd had left. Try to follow KISS on stage was a mistake!
