  • Steph Curry the superstar was born this night. Warriors didn’t win in San Antonio for 29 years. He wasn’t close to the star he is now, but this game is where you could begin to fear him and his Warriors.

    Curry is the reason I started back watching the NBA. I hadn't watched basketball since Jordan retired for the 3rd time. Unfortunately for me, they dont play many GSW games on cable. Obviously I wasn't a fan of any team. I was just a Jordan fan. When he left, I left. When he went to the Wizards I went with him. Then about 14 years later I seen this Curry kid while I was sitting at Applebees. This guy was throwing up the most spectacular 3 pointers since Larry Bird. But Curry was different. The shots he was taking was so insane would have gotten anyone else in the league including Bird BENCHED! But this dude was a freakin baby faced assassin. He is the first player in the league to have the green light to take some of the most ignorant shots from anywhere on the court because somehow he was hitting them with deadly accuracy and winning games. Impossible to be mad at him. Now he's changed the game. Other teams have employed snipers with the green light to shoot at will (Lillard, Harding etc).
    I remember the day Coach Steve Kerr seen they had Steph surrounded trapped by 3 or 4 defenders. Steve was screaming for Steph to pass the ball. Instead, Steph shot the craziest shot in history. Steve put his hands on his head about to go off on Curry but the ball went in. Steve. Just threw his hands up in amazement. I believe that was the day Kerr said you don't have to listen to me anymore. Just go out there and do whatever the fu*k you want to.

      No that was definitely a 3. It looks funny because he’s usually about 4-5ft behind the arc but if you pause it at just the right spot, you can see he’s about 1 inch behind it.
      Besides, the NBA has a special video center in New Jersey filled with refs that review these type of things when it happens. They call it a 3 on the floor but sometimes you watch them take it away and change it to a 2 pointer 30 seconds later.

But it was their first playoff line. They let the Spurs come back and steal that game Popovich even said they shouldn't have won that game and they almost like Denver comeback from that closeout game before this one when they took their foot off the gas and Andre Iguodala started hitting everything he put up

    When you look at these shots, there's nothing the defense can do... Curry has improved his game 100% and flowed with the times... I'm happy he has his own style; his classic skill is his shot and if he cannot make these shots, he'd be a terrible player.

      Are you a scout? That is some serious basketball insight.

    • @plainsimple244
      @plainsimple244 Год назад

      @@jeffvanderwerf3391 Well that was sarcasm and observation because I was looking at shot selection and say he misses those shots, it's terrible basketball when it comes to observation.... See you have to look at what types of shots someone is taking because when you gameplan for an opponent you want them to take long range difficult shots because those are lower percentage shots, well that's why I say those things don't work when you play the disciplined defensive teams with personnel who can run and force misses.... So now those shots get shown for what they really are; Candy-Land, County-Fair Shots that's bubble-gum/pin-ball shots where you get the little stuffed animal for your niece: that's all Curry is doing.
      The real intelligence is not turning it over under pressure, getting to the line every quarter to put your opponent in the penalty, breaking down opponents off the dribble and systematically just reducing your opponent to nothing mentally. See, the Warriors got broken mentally in 2016 just like now in 2023, they were never into the season mentally.
