So sorry for the loss of your dad. Prayers to You and your family. I’m glad we got to meet your wonderful father through you Kevin. Thank You for that. Much Love and Hugs.
I find it interesting that ALL of the other RUclips sailing channels have a propulsion system other than the sails. It’s a major disaster if they lose motor power. It’s SOP for you. You are the only real sailor on RUclips that I’m aware of. No motor, no problem for you. I’ve enjoyed your channel for many years. Appreciate the great content! Sail in my friend, sail on. John
Condolences 🙏 miss my dad also, about the same age. Met some Canadians around 83, just like my dad. It was nice meeting them, and reminded me of my dad. They were special. The Canadians winter here in costa rica. They have been married 60 yrs. The husband did not come this year with health issues. They found the wife dead in there condo the other day😢 she went without anyone even knowing. I know she had a full life, as well as your dad. Life goes on! Keep your head up Kevin peace be with you
U have my condolences Kevin on your dad's passing. I lost my father when I was in the 5th grade. Never knew him all that well when I was so young. I still miss him to this day- 56 years later.
My dad passed away in '97 at the age of 54, I was 29. Little did I know, I guess he was the reason I liked boats. Videos like this one just remind us of our past, somber at times.
It’s a very special time when your Dad leaves you all alone with all those deep memories, savour them and your feelings. Thinking of you away out there and more alone than you have probably ever been! Fair sailing, SkipRay, Kerry.
Kevin, I. lost my little brother Kevin in 2004 and my Dad in 2009, there is hardly a week that goes by when a memory of one of them pops into my head, often reminding me of the best way to do what I am about to try. My Dad is still with me sneaking in advice. I'll bet. your Dad will be doing the same thing for years to come.
Sorry for your loss Kevin. Along with all your fans that watch you as well as your family and friends I wish you consolation and peace with heartfelt sympathy. Fair winds...
Thanks for sharing about your father in this episode and the last. He now has fair winds and following seas. I'm sorry for your loss but he is now free.
Very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. The Bible tells us that the memory of a good person is a blessing. Thank you for one of my absolute favorite sailing channels.
We send our condolences from here in the UK. I think we had the occasional glimpse of your family over the years. You are a nice man so I should think your dad was a nice man too. Best wishes for you , your sister and the rest. x
My condolences for the loss of your father, you have mentioned multiple times that he took your family sailing for a year to historical places and is probably one of the reasons you have a love of the sea and are an accomplished sailor.
It is a gift of sorts that you were at sea when the good fellow passed. How fortunate to be in an uncorrupted place, left to the weave of wind, water, time, and even music as you pondered the depths of love and memories for a man who was so very much a part of you. It is such a fine thing for those to whom you give so much, to have the opportunity to send condolences and support. I hope that adding my sincere concern to the multitude of others serves to further close the gap among people and help prove John Donne's words that "if a clod breaks off, England is the less." My mother passed two months before your father, while I prepared for whatever Maine was going to deliver for winter. Were I in your position, I would have rung my bell, thinking of John Donne. I don't know that you take requests, but if you do, I would be grateful if you would sound the bell twice; once for your parent, once for mine. And may peace come unto your heart.
So sorry for your loss Kevin. My father was my Dad, mentor and later in life, my colleague and best friend. The loss was devastating. I cherish the time I had with him. I sense you had a similar relationship with your father.
i have now seen you balancing on the bowspit and connect the code zero a couple of times and i dont understand why you do not have short tackline running thru a blok fastend at the bowsprit, you could then attach the tack of the code zero to this tackline and tighten it up without to go out on the bowspit
5:57 Does it feel like aboard a spaceship sometimes? Like in the sheer endless vastness of space? But then, there is a next day with the sun shining and dolphins jumping out of the water and the darkness becomes a faint memory. Sorry for your loss. 🌌🖖
Kevin Sorry for the news of your Dad. Lost mine 8 years ago. Carry on is about the only advice I have. Probably not a day or two goes by where I don't think about him and this usually results in a good laugh. Peace to you and enjoy your sail. Mind telling how you are getting Wx models at sea? Much appreciated and thanks- as I plan to head to Maine this summer
Hi Kevin. Time has flowed under the keel since you father passed. Could you gather up some photos and make a vid of your father's life? I am sure that there many of us who like to know him. Gary in japan.

Iridium GO through PredictWind. They keep getting more expensive, but still the best option, although Starlink seems to be coming along.
Rest in peace for your Father, Kevin🙏💪❤️ Does your sailing love and talent come from him?
My dad taught me how to sail when I was young.
Hi Kevin. Time has flowed under the keel since you father passed.
Could you gather up some photos and make a vid of your father's life?
I am sure that there many of us who like to know him.
Gary in japan.
That's a challenge, as my father preferred slides over stills. Sometime I will send them off to have digital copies made.
