Im working on starting a channel but im not sure if i should be a vlogger or something similar. I would love to speak with someone from the Think Media/Marketing team and hear your thoughts. Im still in the startup phase.
Yes I do...I started last year in march and my channel was based on fitness and bodybuilding, however, over time I gradually moved towards pure vlogging...and travel vlog occasionally....but let's say more tech oriented...talking about lenses, cameras, picture profiles etc in a dynamic way...or at least I try.. I use the M50 but I recently bought a 90D...in my newly published video I kinda make a comparison: the quality 1080 of both cameras and also their 120fps which is 1080 on the 90D and 720 on the M50 but surprisingly really good. I started my channel thanks to the inspiration of Think Media and I am sure I'll keep getting inspiration from this awesome channel. Thank you
Bro everyone on RUclips wanna know if the canon m50 can get used for Cinematography / please do make a video about it will be helpful for everyone on RUclips
95 %filmed is outside on the farm! We homestead but we utilize the horses for therapy for kids . Still learning how to get the best shots and finally got my wide lens in! Really appreciate your videos!!
I'm a freelance videographer & photographer and I like vlogging my work process and also social events that i go for. Thanks for this video. For the auto focus part, i prefer setting my auto focus mode to Zone AF because i noticed when using the tracking AF, i always have to tell the camera what i want to focus on so its not the best for run and gun situations. Zone AF on the other hand is way smarter and it always focuses on the main subject(s) in the frame. Tracking AF is very good for sit down, talking videos of one subject. But for general vlogging purposes, Zone AF and Single point AF are the best for me. This is just a personal preference though. Everyone has what works for them. Thanks for the video tips.
Guys I appreciate what you do so much! I finally "pressed record" and started a channel! Because of your advice I bought the Canon m50 with the sigma lens (using your affiliate links) and I love it. Thank your sharing your knowledge.
I really loved this tutorial for the reason that someone finally said it - you don't need to get some crazy weird and hard settings for vlogging it's supposed to be personal and unique, I loved it super informative and great video, keep creating :)
I just ordered my M50 after doing extensive research for the longest time. This video will be extremely helpful to me once my camera arrives and actually made me so much more excited to start filming. Thank you thank you thank you! You gained a new subscriber! ❤️

Hey thanks think media! Been watching the channel since day 1. Have shot with an iPhone 11 Pro Max for the first year here on RUclips. After watching tips here I gained monetized status in under a year and it was time to step my game up from a cell phone to camera so I bought the m50 yesterday with the sigma 16mm and the sigma 56mm
Thanks for this video. I vlog with my M50 and love it. I vlog shopping hauls, chatting and cooking mainly and I am inside and outside. I’m looking for the best settings for these. I’m setting up my camera with this video to see if it helps with transitions.
We make Family Vlogs... that is what our channel is all about! We use the canon 90D with the 10-22 canon lens to vlog. For B-Roll we use the canon 18-135 nano usm lens, the macro EFS 24mm lens and the 70-300mm nano lens as well. We like shooting at 60fps and for B Rolls we shoot at 120fps. For sound we use the Rode Video Mic Pro Plus.
all my vlogging is exercise content. I do both vlogging and talking head stuff so biggest thing for me is remembering to change my frame rate back to 29 before starting talking head videos
We just picked up a Canon M50, seeing the difference right away! We were using an S20 note, I mean not bad for starters but Night and Day difference! Thanks for all the great info! It is always great to have creators making step by step instructional videos for all of us looking for that know how. 🤙
For vlogging and interviews that aren't at my home studio i have a Canon eos 200D. It's a great option if you're looking for something that's just a step up from the M50.
It's not necessary a step up, if you use it for vlogging and interviews. I'd say that M50 is more of a step up from EOS 200D, since it's newer, has more features and well... it costs more. EOS 200D is great budget DSLR camera though, definitely on par with cameras from other brands within the same price range.
Which budget friendly attachable microphones do you suggest for using with Canon M50? Also if you had specific microphone types for shootings vlogs - Thank you!
I love the vibe on the cannon, but I was able to pick up a full go pro 8 set up for about 450 and hoping the media mods will be in my favor. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a nice 4k camera :)
hi omar I always watch your videos I am from the Philippines I want to start RUclips soon thanks to the tips for camera I learned a lot I will save to buy that camera God bless 🙏
I had mine on scene intelligent auto instead of movie. And I realized the aspect ratio was set to 3:2 and not 16:9. Will it still be okay for youtube? I had been filming all morning with it like that.
I create content for those who want to up their digital life and use their phones for more than just making a call. I am still using my iphone to film and would like a proper camera. I would have bought the new Canon G7X if it had better auto focus so am now undecided between the Song a6400 and the Canon M50 now. Have only been going a couple of months so will see. Love Think Media videos 😍
I have this camera. I took a photography class a few years ago and still haven’t been able to understand the settings of a camera 😂 thanks for informing me, more on this.
I was planning to get this camera but I got the Nikon D5600 because I'm more of a Nikon user. The good thing with M50 is its smaller size.My earlier vlog camera was Sony NEX 5R with a shotgun mic attached until its battery compartment got broken.
QUESTION: Hope you post a video about this soon... is it worth to buy the Canon M50 now when the new version is coming out this year around November i heard?....

I have different frame rate settings. I can only pick 25 or 50 when in movie mode🧐Also, my M50 tends to look really grainy when the lightening is low. Looks like an old camcorder, are there settings to fix that too? I've searched like crazy but I cant find it. Thanks for making this amazing video!
I've used the M50 for almost 2 years now, If you are doing low light, the basics are shoot in manual mode, don't go above 1600 ISO, keep you shutter speed at double your frame rate, and keep your aperture as low as possible. If the image isn't bright enough you need to have more light.
I have the M50 but am thinking about going for the Canon M6 mkii. Will you be doing a video on that one? No 4k crop. Also I want the Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens for it for b-roll. Could you tell me what gimbal would work with the M6 mkii and that heavy lens. Since there is no stabilization in the lens?
Smashed the like button! Great Value Omar keep up the good work! And I do travel and food vlogs with the M50 so really helpful and best wishes to you and the team in 2020👏

I've been using the M50 for videos since February 2019. I'm enjoying it and learning it's functions a bit at a time.
I prefer the exposure to be ev -1 to preserve the highlights
Great tip!

Update: Apparently frame rates are different in Europe.🤷🏻♀️
have u found a fix to this i also have the same problem
I just want to know what Picture Style do you use? Standard, Neutral, or a custom preset?
Auto - set it and forget it
Neutral - if I plan of color grading a little in editing (added step tho)
Portrait - can make things pop a little more
I record makeup & skincare videos for IG and want to know what you recommend is the best FPS I should use for that.
Great video.
Are these settings good for low light recording as well! If not, please make an other video just for that.

I've used the M50 for almost 2 years now, If you are doing low light, the basics are shoot in manual mode, don't go above 1600 ISO, keep you shutter speed at double your frame rate, and keep your aperture as low as possible. If the image isn't bright enough you need to have more light.
Another basic tip is to set ISO to Auto. That was a game changer for me.
