nowhere near this kind of situation, but back in HS, early 2000s, it was my 17th birthday and me and my buddy were in my S10 minitruck (that i still have 20 years and counting, canary yellow, slammed, frame about 2 inches off ground, [static not bags. not my original choice], 18 inch wheels with low profile tires, iron duke 4cyl 5 speed) on our way to the bowling alley to meet up with some people. cruising down the interstate out of nowhere loud clanking noise then my shifter flew up almost hitting me in the head and busting my rear windshield, and we heard a dragging noise then a thud. i pulled over to see dozens of cast pieces laying in the road and my drive shaft about to be ran over by damn near all 18 wheels of a semi that was approaching. my transmission somehow shattered into pieces. it got broken into that night sitting on the side of the road. they got my tailgate (custom fab, shaved) and a bunch of random stuff. another buddy of mine had a transmission that he offered to give me, but for whatever reason my mother wouldnt let him do that so she offered him some money that I was going to have to pay him, yea, she obligated me to pay him not her. anyway, at that time i was not working much so i couldnt just get the money that way. one day some people i knew but didnt like were driving by my house and asked me about selling my wheels. i dont remember what they were but i knew that the wheel tire combo was somewhere around $2,500 at the time. i didnt want to, but that was going to be my only option, problem is that they only offered me $500 plus a set of trash 15s off of something he had laying around. had no choice so i had to accept the offer. he ran to his house and came back with those wheels, the money, and a jack. they pulled mine off and put the others on, went back to his place and put my wheels on his catfish ('02) Camaro. im a ford guy even though i have this s10 so i dont like to admit it but it looked good with my wheels on it. i ended up paying my buddy for the trans and a drive shaft and got them on, but the soul of my truck was gone. i sanded it down and just painted it matte black. not too long after that those guys that got my wheels snuck to my house one night and broke into my truck stealing my cd player and speakers that i had just recently replaced. i knew it was them because reasons, but i couldnt do anything about it. later on Karma hit him and his car blew up at the track. genuinely blew up, explosion, fire, burned to a crisp but i never got my wheels back. still have the truck, my plans forever have been to build a drag truck out of it, but i keep running into obstacles stopping me.

You'd have to ask Craig Liberman but I would bet that supra is on par if not better than the one used in the movie. Great job throttl!

Right? He claimed it "dead hooked" which it didn't at all, not surprised it broke, wheel hops generally break the weakest part in the whole driveline, was probably a good thing they didn't have a beefier driveshaft.
