I first heard the song "Black Water " in 1973 when I was 10 years old. Amazing song and all of their songs. Still rocking and performing. What more you could you ask for in an amazing career like that!
Couldn’t agree more! Most music these days is just plain soulless - peddled to the Tick Tick/Snapchat generation! The Doobies are just plain mesmerising! 👍
Please, please get about ten camera men and view every angle of this legendary band. One camera view is amateur hour and these are some of American’s best. We need more cameras!!!
This song was Pat Simmons masterpiece. Tom Johnston took a back seat on this one. #1 in the USA the week of 3/15/1975. Tom Johnston has changed very little and performs excellent these days at 74. This still sounds great 49 years later. It was originally the flip side of 1974's "Another Park Another Sunday".
When I was in college this version of Doobies was the best with the guitar guy doing the vocals. Saw them in concert way later in the early 80's and it was Michael McDonald. But....the original singer with the southern twang is the best!
@@TheDivayenta I am a graduate of Leigh High School also, going back to San Jose May 20th for the 50 year 1973 re-union, Now residing in Bangkok Thailand.......The Doobie Brothers in 1973 were the first concert I ever saw at "Winterland" Seems like yesterday......all the original members. Good Lord!
May 5th 2023 can't get here soon enough. Doobies are coming back to the Waikiki Shell. Ticket prices are steep but it is the Doobie Braddas in Hawaii. Peace, Love and Aloha from Waikiki.
Phenomenal concert! The Doobie's Rock! I saw Carlos Santana back in the 1986 at The Hollywood Palladium for my 21st birthday; one of the best concerts I've ever attended! 10/10 would recommend!
saw them in new Zealand in the early 70s but tom left the band and a new singer was singing only best song was this one cos they had the dixey humming birds do the lat part
Nothing better than the original Doobies!

Good, simple music during a time with no cable TV, no video games, no cell phones or social media.

This was one of the first rock songs that I listened to. I first heard it in 1973 when I was nine years old. A classic song!

Possibly the best live-version of 'Black Water' I've heard yet. Thanks for sharing!
Check out their 50th anniversary concert from NY city here on RUclips. They are at their very best !!!
I like the way they smile when the audience starts singing
Amazing vibes with the audience! Hard to tell who’s enjoying the concert more - Such a great moment! 🎶🤙
Thank you for sharing this awesome DB classic!
I was at this show, right at the stage in front of Pat. What a great time.
I went to high school with Pat!!

Having bradda Henry Kapono come up and jam was the topping on the shave ice. That full moon was perfect for Black Water.. We were on the lawn..

Sadly, no - this is his evil twin in Australia! :)
When did they get back together..?
1987
Fine camera work here. The backup vocals in the audience is a bit questionable though.

I love it when the audience participates spontaneously...the band loves it too!
@@coinneachmaclellan3121yes they do. Saw them in Little Rock a couple years ago and the arena was into it that night.
Not bad for the B-side of a 45, huh?
The mix is terrible...
Just absolutely beautiful summer song!!!!!
