Conteh had one more fight after this, a victory over James Dixon. He then retired but later tried to make a comeback because he needed the money. The British Boxing Board of control would not licence him because they said that there was an abnormality on a MRI brain scan and that it would be dangerous for him to ever fight again.
I can’t recall any title bout that saw one of the boxers knocked down five times in one round. Also, MSM looks bigger than Conteh, even though they both weighed in at 175.
The first fight they cheated, and got a one year ban and kept the title. It should of been given to John if they cheated in the ring, in the first fight.
Conteh wasn't half the fighter that he was when he won the title his right hand which was a genuine KO punch had completely gone in this fight, think he only threw it 3 or 4 times

What I remember about John Conteh's boxing career was the frequent fracturing of his arm.
Think it was his hand, rumours all over Liverpool at the time he upset some powerfull people! womanising I believe, we'll never know.
He broke his right hand in a non-title bout against Willie "The Bull" taylor and then it was rebroken in an auto accident.
Johnny right hand was burned ,he always had a hand problem and always fought with one arm creazy to thing he made it as far as he did
