The entire game is just holding out for holy world 1 and 2 are gonna be ultra tedious and hard. Protect, shell and blink might make things easier but that damage is rough
White mage is cake if you don't mind spending some time grinding. I've beaten 5 with every single job, and some really REALLY awful combinations due to playing in the Four Job FIesta for the last decade. 4 Mimes is the absolute hardest since your entire damage output is breaking rods. At least said rods are basically infinite since you only need to break 1 per battle.
Ninja is a pretty efficient job with tools for everything, if you can afford the stuff to throw of course. Is a little sad that their Dual-Wield becomes extremely weak with the poor weapon options later on, but is brutal when you give Dual-Wield to another Melee job. Good job bro, only 8 more jobs to finish your FFV runs.
This series is iconic story telling. It's somewhere between "choose your own adventure" and "speed run jrpgs" but it's FFV as well. Well done with this series, you absolute legend!
Ninja is a weird grind. Black Flames die to one Water Scroll, so it's turn efficient to grind like that. I buy as many as I can when Lix opens up, kill some Flames. Max out on Water Scrolls and auto-battle till I run out. That money should carry me through to Kelb, where I can stock up on Lightning Scrolls. Those should 2-shot the statues in Galuf's basement. A few minutes of auto-battling there solves any money issues for the rest of the game. They are one of the more money hungry jobs in the game, but they're really good at clearing out ramdon encounters.
And here I thought Samurai would have been the most expensive job with Zeninage. The cost investment for Ninja is ridiculous. That Omniscient censor was pretty darn funny.
I do love the fact that FF has a character named Edge, but it's short for his full name Edward Geraldine and he's the comic relief. (I know "edgelord" wasn't a thing in 1991 but still.)
I believe Ninja is considered the optimal Job for speed-running FFV. Granted these "Can You Beats" aren't speed-runs, but the Ninja versatility still shines through especially the time saving value of Smoke Bomb. Throw might be the most consistently powerful ability in the franchise, and yet I tend to ignore it in my own playthroughs. It's a different form of the Elixir Effect, I guess.
Speedruns use, amongst others, Knight (for guard against Garula), Thief (vigilance, steal, flee, run) Black Mage (Thunder for Karlaboss), Blue Mage (goblin punch, LV5 death, dark spark, death claw), Mystic Knight (break and aga spellblades), Ninja (throw and dual wield), Mediator/Beastmaster (control for prototype, catch/release for Ifrit, Sand Wurm and Archeoavis), Bard (hide for Twintannia), Samurai (gil toss, parry, equip the masamune) and Chemist (Mix)
Heh, "Elixir Effect" does really describe it, doesn't it? I think that even now I can count the amount of times that I've thrown weapons that aren't usable only via Throw on one hand over all _Final Fantasy_ games.
Oh god thank you for the flashbacks of leveling Nin to 37 in ffxi. Even PLD wanted to sub NIN at endgame so I needed to blow so much gil to get that job up. I remember being 17 and skipping school to farm gil to level that damn job… All being said it was a very fun job to play just so expensive.
Hopefully one day the stars will align and we see Oracle only run Sorry, couldn't resist. This is the last time I joke about Sealed Temple job, I promise
Woohoo!!! 🎉 Another backlog buster of FFV !!! I got the game and then shortly after the platinum trophy after watching your first few episodes of this series Freakin love this game it rlly got me into final fantasy
Love this series. Also feel your pain about FFXI Ninja. The tools, the Ichi and Ni spells being so expensive, the job being basically a requirement as a subjob. What a struggle.
In the snes and GBA version there was an oversight that when you skip a twin lance in the first slot and the chicken knife in the second slot it would never activate flee, but it was patched in pixel remaster
31:20 I think you accidentally made an editing error as there appears to be a giant ninja graphic blocking your party of smaller Ninjas and definitely not Black Mages!
Interestingly enough the Byblos fight is actually pretty easy if you get more Flame Scrolls. You get them from the enemies in the Ship Graveyard(Mindflusher), which is also good to get some Elixirs too. It being early game also means not much EXP but considering the minimize grinding, understandable to not do it. Ninjas so good they're 1 half of the broken Job Setup (The other is Ranger).
So what you're saying is the next playthrough will include approximately 8 days running Omniscient out of MP, and trying for a rare steal with the Thief Knife then resetting?
Did the pixel remaster fix the Twin Lance exploit where secondary abilities don't trigger on your off hand weapon if your primary weapon is the twin lance?
@@Clouded-Logic Never checked twin lance but I know with other knives it works fine, and ffv PR fixed a lot of bugs so I'd bet twin lance is good now. Well, good is relative lol, now you'll get to combo it into *mystery waltz*
Honestly that berserk was a blessing in disguise. Neo Ex-Death would've taken much longer. The fight probably could've been easier if u had a stockpile of fuma shuriken since they were dealing a ton of damage, but ninja like samurai is a true pay to win job, lol.
I figure the closest we are getting to a Warriors of Dawn game was having all four of them, only three if you’re a US player, in Opera Omnia, until it was inflicted with the fatal status effect that is End of Service.
The money woes were giving me flashbacks to having 2 Fighters and 2 Red Mages in FF1. Everywhere you go there's more to buy. Lenna going Berserk was magnificent. NeoExdeath is the boss battle that keeps on giving. Wait, what? Levels lost from Old came back after a revive? That's new.
If you spam the magic lamp sometimes it duplicates. Its some weird interaction where the magic lamp like temporarily removes itself from your inventory when its getting used. Its nothing to worry about.
@@BacklogBuster That is actually very cool. As FFV lover I only rushed achievements on the PR version as GBA is so much more fun, never seen this happen.
This run felt a little more manic than the rest. Just like Ninja! Although, I have to ask: is FF5 breaking the Backlog Buster or do you just want to get to the Thief run faster for some reason? :O
I can see why you wouldn't, but part of me was hoping we'd get to see the "throw Assassin's dagger to instakill Minotaur" trick. Or does that not work in the remake?
you complain about Ninja tool cost in FFXI but I played Ranger for quite a while and there was never, ever, ever enough gil to pay for the literal stacks of arrows I'd go through every leveling session Ninja got SUPER expensive with throwables too in that game! I still miss FFXI sometimes.
It's 3 in the morning, and here i am watching a video about some dude playing FF5. This night is great
Everyone complains about being stuck with knives until you're stuck without. White mage is approaching and you can't run
No knives, no rods, no damage, no sanity 😂
The entire game is just holding out for holy world 1 and 2 are gonna be ultra tedious and hard. Protect, shell and blink might make things easier but that damage is rough

Topped with what's a chunky healing gonna do to a squishy defense and dangerously low hp
"The serious lack of endgame weapons hurts like crazy"
The developers really did just assume they'd be using someone else's endgame weapons huh.
Lenna repeatedly getting berserked might have something to do with all that poison she ingests every run.
Shes gonna have no braincells left by the end of this.
All berserk and no poision makes Lenna a dull girl.

The amount of joy I feel seeing another job challenge for my drive to school is immeasurable. Another banger keep on chucking and trucking!
I look forward to the release of these videos sooo much. Love every one of them.
Ah, Ninja.
The class with Edge
I do love the fact that FF has a character named Edge, but it's short for his full name Edward Geraldine and he's the comic relief.
(I know "edgelord" wasn't a thing in 1991 but still.)
I suppose we can say that that Edge in the After Years is an edgelord? (As in being the leader of ninjas and being named Edge).
I believe Ninja is considered the optimal Job for speed-running FFV. Granted these "Can You Beats" aren't speed-runs, but the Ninja versatility still shines through especially the time saving value of Smoke Bomb.

Vanilla Ice intensifies.
Go ninja go ninja go.
Took a lot not to start the run wtih that ngl.
Love this series.
Also feel your pain about FFXI Ninja. The tools, the Ichi and Ni spells being so expensive, the job being basically a requirement as a subjob. What a struggle.
It was a requirement as a tank too. You basically needed both Ninja and Paladin leveled because neither could tank everything in the endgame.
In the snes and GBA version there was an oversight that when you skip a twin lance in the first slot and the chicken knife in the second slot it would never activate flee, but it was patched in pixel remaster
Silence everyone! My favorite show has started 😁
Final Fantasy 11 my beloved...So brutal yet so loveable
so the XI Ninja's pay to play nature was a reference to V's Ninja
clever
...yes..."clever"...we can go with that. =X
You can steal more Twinlances from the statue mobs in the basement of Galuf's castle. It's kind of a pain, but definitely worth it.
My favourite Job =D
Having dual weapons is always a fun time!
That FFXI side rant hurt me a little. Memories of being in middle school when the US release came out... much pain.
On the ps version if u dual wield twin lances it seems to hit between 4-6 times. Using mug gives several attempts to steal. Is this normal
31:20 I think you accidentally made an editing error as there appears to be a giant ninja graphic blocking your party of smaller Ninjas and definitely not Black Mages!
ooooooooooooooooops
Rapid fire + ninja = pretty crazy on lone enemies
I've been waiting! Love this series!
Bro is 4am here and I see you posted worth staying awake to see your video
Speedwagon, My good sir, that is a JoJo reference. I’ve never seen such a gentleman before. You’ve earned me clicking subscribe.
Classic Ninja… death by one thousand cuts 😂
I knew there was a random reason I woke up at 2am.
Interestingly enough the Byblos fight is actually pretty easy if you get more Flame Scrolls. Always a good day to bust some backlogs
Stop lying Xezat has had 13 opportunities to find a better material for his sub and still hasn't done it. That is funny.
31:32 ah yes. My favorite ninja technique: exploding your enemies with your magic mind powers...
....
Wait.
ohh man this is my favorite series so far! I can't wait for the other two episodes of this crystal.
So what you're saying is the next playthrough will include approximately 8 days running Omniscient out of MP, and trying for a rare steal with the Thief Knife then resetting?
I wish you uploaded more often... thank you for the content.
Haven't started the video yet but predicting a "not enough gauche to go around" line or something.
Your delivery makes me cry laughing
The way he comes up with new jokes for the same scenario every time 😂
How good are the GBA Extra Jobs like Necromancer and Gladiator?
Nice FFXI reference, have a thumbs up, buddy.
All the mentions of ninja in FF11 gives me Forrest Whittaker eye. I’m going to have Utsusemi nightmares tonight.
I always farm twin lnaces in the Galufs castle basement (but you would need the thief class)
Summon when?
Anyway good video
Did the pixel remaster fix the Twin Lance exploit where secondary abilities don't trigger on your off hand weapon if your primary weapon is the twin lance?
@@Clouded-Logic Never checked twin lance but I know with other knives it works fine, and ffv PR fixed a lot of bugs so I'd bet twin lance is good now. Well, good is relative lol, now you'll get to combo it into *mystery waltz*
there is a way in some release to use twinlance to disable the !flee from chicken knife.
I can already tell this will not be the hardest, ninja is a beast in V
Thankee for releasing this and confirming my suspicions on Ninja!
What's the ETA for the public release of Mediator?
Why would I skip ahead when we have to visit ZOK!
Honestly that berserk was a blessing in disguise. Neo Ex-Death would've taken much longer. The fight probably could've been easier if u had a stockpile of fuma shuriken since they were dealing a ton of damage, but ninja like samurai is a true pay to win job, lol.
Lenna, for the last time, stop smoking the dragon grass!

Wait, what? Levels lost from Old came back after a revive? That's new.
A nice change in the Pixel Remaster for sure. Permanent level loss from old would've wrecked a lot of these attempts.
Still waiting for Summoner
42:06 Two magic lamps? What happened there?
If you spam the magic lamp sometimes it duplicates. Its some weird interaction where the magic lamp like temporarily removes itself from your inventory when its getting used. Its nothing to worry about.
@@BacklogBusterlmao. 😅

Sasuke katayneur
Very nice. Ninja is so much fun.
Babe grab the popcorn, he put out a new episode!
Just what the world needs today!
I love this series! But how come you never do Carbuncle? Also 33:35, I understood that reference. John Freeman ftw!
No reason to do Carbuncle.
Can a ninja throw a star? Shrunken!
Ninja only is not bad at all, unless you want to go for Shinryu and/or Omega 😮.
Throw is the just a version of gil-toss and rod smashing. Just an indirect way to throw cash.
34:54 FELTED?! Bro, have you been going to the casino?

I can see why you wouldn't, but part of me was hoping we'd get to see the "throw Assassin's dagger to instakill Minotaur" trick. Or does that not work in the remake?
Im not sure. Minotaur was easy enough with haste and image so there was no reason to try.
Calofisteri......one person wears bone mail and reflect ring. 200% neutered. Set to attack. And go make a sandwich
Hes back!!!!!
best job, especially if you can combine them with a mage job that can use rods
🎶 Its 4 o'clock on a Tuesday🎶
The Final Fantasy XI tangent was too real
you complain about Ninja tool cost in FFXI but I played Ranger for quite a while and there was never, ever, ever enough gil to pay for the literal stacks of arrows I'd go through every leveling session
Ninja got SUPER expensive with throwables too in that game! I still miss FFXI sometimes.
Like a fart in the night
I think this might be the first time Calofisteri was any amount of an issue lol very weird considering how hard ninja smokes everything else
Thats just because I was unwilling to throw my stash. If I came in with more shurikens I would've dusted her.
Are these ninjas in school doing Galaxy Gas?
Wow i see how it is 😢 im a supporter but didnt get the list
I really should add the channel members to the end list. Its just Patreon-exclusive at hte moment. When I remake it I'll update it for channel members
@BacklogBuster thou hath broked my heart in twine

Ninja is among the easiest single class runs, of course
Dang not ff11 ninja tanking reference
Yaaaaaas!!!
So was this the easiest run
would jobless be a job?
Yes. Freelancers always been sitting there in the bottom right corner of the end montage.
Yeeess
HAHAHAHA..Finally! 😂
