Fun Fact about the Barrier Ring found in the tent: This secret was missed in the Official Final Fantasy 3 strategy guide My buddy and I were using the guide going through the game and found that one by accident
I have played and beat this game too many times to count and the two that I found here that I was unaware of was the speed up of the letter process in Mobliz by talking to the post master/cutscene viewing and that you could skip the costume sections for Locke. Fantastic game. What about the 'Air Knife' that is hidden in the entrance to Mt. Kolts?
Here's one I actually just found out about while brushing up on the Rippler bug and why it yoinks Interceptor away: the game knows when Interceptor isn't available to Shadow and thus the "Interceptor Guard" effect which is what allows him to function in battle, is not active on Shadow during the Floating Continent as Interceptor is not with Shadow there. He is in Thamasa. If you are a heartless bastard (or just don't know any better) and leave Shadow to die on the Continent, when you go the cave in the Veldt in the WoR, Interceptor will lead you to a wounded Relm in place of Shadow, and from then on she will be his new master, meaning Relm now has the "Interceptor Guard" effect. Also, Gogo can mimic "Takedown/Wild Fang" lol. So that's fun. He can truly mimic everything, even someone's dog.
If you go into Gogo's status screen menu you can also assign him abilities other than mimic. Personally I like to give him "steal" as well and go wander the veldt with him and Locke.
In the empire desert base, there is actually another tent with a chest if you go north of the one with a monster in a box one. If you press up at the wall around it, it will make you jump down to the one more north of you and let you get a chest in that tent too. I just recently found this out after 20 years lol
Leveling too much early on can gimp your characters, since the best Espers don't come around until the WoR. Espers give your characters +STAT on level (+HP/MP/STR/MAG/SPD). Locke with maxed speed and haste is... pretty hilarious, actually.
Took me years to figure that out. Granted, I was six when I first stated playing this game so you don't normally think long-term like that. My brother's and I used to level like crazy early on and always get all the characters the magic when we got new espers.
I knew about the glitch with Sketching Gau but had no idea the glitch was based on enemy formation I usually avoided this glitch because while it was great to wind up with all these items sometimes certain items would just disappear from you inventory all together.
you can also just open up a shop menu and exit out to do the same thing for the Tintinabar sidequest, much faster. (Relic Shop is the closest). Literally just have to open the Shop Menu and exit out
Some of them are related with the background of the characters which, for me, is the best part of this game. Celes, Sabin, Edgar, Terra, Locke... probably six of the best characters videogames have ever given us
4:22 I remember spending hours going through every possible combination to get that secret... FINALLY after many tries I got it X-D good times that. I played the HELL out of this game :P.
Not sure if it works in later versions, but if you Morph Terra and have her cast Sleep on herself(no one else is strong enough usually) right before it runs out, she won't turn back. When she wakes, she'll remain morphed for full damage. Also, in the snes version, Number 024 and the MagiMaster can both be killed by reducing their mp to 0.
Im so happy to say,i know majority of this secrets except for the stolen items from monsters. I also remember a secret event when you visit the hometown of Strago and Relm only if theyre the only one in your party.
The Vanish + X-Zone trick... holding down the A button when in the rapids to auto-level... how to get Shadow for the WoR (not everyone knows this)... how to get to a glitched WoB through a cave in the WoR... what happens when all eight dragons are defeated... the secret of Gogo's identity... how to get "Kutan" in your party... how to get actual moogles in your party... saving Cid's life (not everyone knows this)... how to get General Leo in your party. That's all the ones I can think of.
There is no Gogo secret identity, it isn't Daryl. It was shot down by a high up SE that worked on VI The spot where Daryl clash landed is Intangir(WOB)/Gogo(WOR) island The were rumors of a cutscene where Setzer talks to Gogo in the airship, and starts acting strange like he knows who Gogo is. Gogo calls him as Setzers name and runs away. Every mention of this cutscene is in text only comments, apparent walkthrough etc. There is no footage of it, therefore most likely doesn't exist
At Mobliz, instead of watching the cutscene every time, you can just talk to the relic shop owner to open the shop menu, exit, and a letter will have arrived
If you're playing the GBA or Mobile/Steam version and you steal the Raganrok and Atma Weapon from Lady and Rest during the Kefka fight, you get to keep them. Why? The game saves and you can continue playing in order to challenge the Dragon's Den. Only in these versions can you have BOTH the Ragnarok and Illumina swords.
I feel like the guy in Kohlingen in the world of ruin was supposed to be there in the world of balanace. That's not addressed here, but you come from Narshe and your party members aren't automatically unequipped. By the time you get there later, everyone is separated.
I give Gau the imp stuff because of his story. And it also gives him a suitable beast form xD I only turn him into an imp as a pretend limit break during battle sometimes.
if you wait to get the white cape at returners hideout until after you refuse to help bannon, the white cape becomes the gauntlet you would get for not refusing bannon. So, if you want the gauntlet and genji glove early that's how you do it.
Oh, that secret of the Telstar (Satellite), there's one more there you missed. Behind that tent, you can jump down to the tent on the lower level and get a treasure box (Imperial Camp near Doma).
Somebody else knows the imp trick too, huh!!! I discovered that on the snes decades ago, and won so many bets with friends because literally nobody believed me till they saw it.
For the Tintinabar you can also sleep at the inn to "advance" time enough for the next letter, though that will add an extra 500 to the 2500 you already have to spend to send the 5 letters you need to send to get the Soldier to give you the Tintinabar.
Also, give the character you turn into an Imp the Dragoon Boots and Dragon Horn Relic. Since the Imp Halberd (Impartisan in remakes) is a spear weapon, it will do extra damage when using jump, and the Dragon Horn makes jump hit 2-4 times per jump instead of just once.
Strago can learn his most powerful spell Quasar from his dream sequence boss. only place in game where you can i believe. Goddess uses it in final battle but you wont learn it.
Yeah, just double checked, Grand Delta has 84 spell power where as Quasar has 57. It appears Quasar is just a weaker form of Grand Delta. I think it looks way cooler though
If Gau pounces on a Retainer, he’ll learn Gen. Leo’s “Shock” move.

you can also just open up a shop menu and exit out to do the same thing for the Tintinabar sidequest, much faster.
Octopus Pancake its a puzzle because asuming everybody in zozo is lying it is 1 of 2 possible combo’s
After playing ff vi since 1994, you thought me nothing new !!!
That’s not a secret as much as an exploit/bug lol
9:09 So the paladin shield makes Interceptor come?
It teaches you the spell Ultima - I think Interceptor photo bombed my footage, haha :)
Always get Gauntlet from Banon and steal all the Genji Gloves on Floating Coninent from the dragons
The Zozo Clock was a pain in the ass. I had to write all the combinations and make a little of maths to achieve de Chainsaw 😭😭😭
Here code: (6:10:50)
4:30 Pretty sure Chainsaw does not ignore defense.
Edit: Oh, learned about that Aegis Shield in Kefka's Tower, though.
That Mount kolts atlas armlet wasn’t even in the guide for ff3 I got as a kid
Im so happy to say,i know majority of this secrets except for the stolen items from monsters. I also remember a secret event when you visit the hometown of Strago and Relm only if theyre the only one in your party.
0:34 has a BASEMENT 3 in this room to
The Vanish + X-Zone trick... holding down the A button when in the rapids to auto-level... how to get Shadow for the WoR (not everyone knows this)... how to get to a glitched WoB through a cave in the WoR... what happens when all eight dragons are defeated... the secret of Gogo's identity... how to get "Kutan" in your party... how to get actual moogles in your party... saving Cid's life (not everyone knows this)... how to get General Leo in your party. That's all the ones I can think of.
Baccar Wozat Do NOT use Vanish + X-Zone on Deathgaze! You will miss out on Bahamut! Use Death instead.
What's the secret to Gogo's identity!!!
There is no Gogo secret identity, it isn't Daryl.
It was shot down by a high up SE that worked on VI
The spot where Daryl clash landed is Intangir(WOB)/Gogo(WOR) island
The were rumors of a cutscene where Setzer talks to Gogo in the airship, and starts acting strange like he knows who Gogo is. Gogo calls him as Setzers name and runs away. Every mention of this cutscene is in text only comments, apparent walkthrough etc. There is no footage of it, therefore most likely doesn't exist
@@Zematus737 Gogo is former Illinois governor Adlai Stevenson.
Oh man, i missed so many secrets, nice it has that many as well.
At Mobliz, instead of watching the cutscene every time, you can just talk to the relic shop owner to open the shop menu, exit, and a letter will have arrived
Nicely done!
Why you put sopilers and i failed to get a better sword to beat kefka
If you're playing the GBA or Mobile/Steam version and you steal the Raganrok and Atma Weapon from Lady and Rest during the Kefka fight, you get to keep them. Why? The game saves and you can continue playing in order to challenge the Dragon's Den. Only in these versions can you have BOTH the Ragnarok and Illumina swords.
Wish I'd had this in '96
Can you make an update if this with like area descriptions
Where's Part 2?!
U failed to show the second atma weapon location...
Theres two atma weapons in ff vi!!
Really? Where's the second one?
There's three, actually.
I feel like the guy in Kohlingen in the world of ruin was supposed to be there in the world of balanace. That's not addressed here, but you come from Narshe and your party members aren't automatically unequipped. By the time you get there later, everyone is separated.
where is that? 6:48 Vector? I can't find that house
Its the outpost near entrance to esper cave :) unlocks after dinner with gehstal
It's been 4 years, care to release part 2? :D
Haha, part 1 was made before I had kids - up to four kiddos now. Part 2... maybe one day ;)
@@MarriedGamerGuy grats on the family
wow there's a lots of secrets that I've missed, I'm in the World Of Ruin now 😭
I’m replaying it after years of not and have missed so many secrets. Lol! Amazing how much I’ve forgotten
I've probably played FFVI start to finish easily 4+ times and a couple of these were new to me!
@@maouprier secrets are secrets boi
Wow after all these years I’ve missed some of these things
I give Gau the imp stuff because of his story. And it also gives him a suitable beast form xD
I only turn him into an imp as a pretend limit break during battle sometimes.
You should make more videos :(
You left the internet
if you wait to get the white cape at returners hideout until after you refuse to help bannon, the white cape becomes the gauntlet you would get for not refusing bannon. So, if you want the gauntlet and genji glove early that's how you do it.
Is this confirmed?
@@deathscythe8696 by me, and I think HC bailey does it on his walkthrough. Pretty sure that's where I learned it.
@@SaanMigwell Working my way to try this right now. Thanks mate!
@@SaanMigwell I have tried multiple ways on the steam version and I can't get it to work. Maybe it depends on the version.
@@deathscythe8696 I did it on the SNES mini an FF3 Rom, and an FF3 Cart.
Oh, that secret of the Telstar (Satellite), there's one more there you missed. Behind that tent, you can jump down to the tent on the lower level and get a treasure box (Imperial Camp near Doma).
I came to this comments section to find someone who knew of this. Needs more thumbs up!
Somebody else knows the imp trick too, huh!!! I discovered that on the snes decades ago, and won so many bets with friends because literally nobody believed me till they saw it.
I ain't played this game in forever yet I'm remembering what a lot of those items are.
Brings me back...
ty! im following a text guide and was going crazy trying to find that damn white cape!
I wonder how many battles in my life I fought to uncurse that damn shield before I equipped a ribbon lol
its 2021 and still waiting for part 2
I've had 2 strategy guides for this game since 1994 and I didn't know about half of the hidden chests. lol
WAIT WAIT HOLD ON I've been playing this game for years and I never I knew that you could Phoenix down the ghost train to kill it instantly
Rpg logic if it's an undead mob , heal it for max damage
I didn't specifically know this but I'm not surprised. It's common in most FF's for Phoenix Down instant kills undead, and Elixirs do 9999.
¿Qué paso con la segunda parte? ;:v
Those Cyan and Gau scenes are heartbreaking
Strago can learn his most powerful spell Quasar from his dream sequence boss. only place in game where you can i believe. Goddess uses it in final battle but you wont learn it.
Technically Grand Train/Delta you learn from Hidon is Strago's most powerful lore.
Yeah, just double checked, Grand Delta has 84 spell power where as Quasar has 57. It appears Quasar is just a weaker form of Grand Delta.
I think it looks way cooler though
can always just cheese spells from Dark Force in Kefka's Tower though (or the Collosseum too for that matter (and hope you're lucky lol)
