  • Here's an episode of one of the true classic gameshows from a rather seldom-seen era, and it's quite a crazy episode too. Downs had this up on his now-gone older channel, and here it is again!
I'm trying two new methods starting with this video. First, I'm only putting in the watermark at the beginning and end so it doesn't get in the way. Second, I used a screen recorder on a computer DVD player instead of a DVD ripper so the footage doesn't take forever on my Netbook. It takes too long to render, but I still think it's more worth it than waiting to get on the household desktop.
DISCLAIMER: Nothing you see here is my property.

September 14, 1977 was also the day the "Yolanda" incident occurred on that day's episode of "The Price Is Right".

The full episode of William Shatner playing the Winner's Circle by himself was originally broadcast on June 27, 1975 when it was The $10,000 Pyramid.

I have the Monday ep, and the defending champion at the end of the day doesn't appear in this clip. The returning champion here is going for $20,000, so she had to have started no sooner than Tuesday. There's also a clip of the opening of the next day's show, so it can't be Friday either.

This is from the only copy of this episode that is known to exist. ABC didn't cease & desist its wiping policy until early 1978.

Perhaps, but parts of it still kind of work today; the octagonal shapes behind the players still look kind of nice, if abstract. And the big Pyramid itself is, of course, a timeless classic.
Bob Stewart was a master of stretching a small production budget about as far as it could go. The original Pyramid set is a fine example. While most of it hasn't aged well, for the time it looked like a *ton* of money was spent on it.

This wasn't the first time Kirk and Spock played against each other. They did the same thing during the week of September 6-10, 1976.

This is 9/14. 9/16 was a Friday show, and they used the memorable part on the next show.
