Okay I just did it. I opened up a can of sardines that were in water. No bones and no skin. That stuff doesn't bother me. I bought all different types of cans... I took about a tablespoon of butter. Let it melt in the meantime. I took the sardines out of the water padam dry and then I put them in the butter to heat them up and brown. Just a little, probably 2, 3 minutes on each side. When those were done I took them out at a little more butter and then I threw in some garlic one clove let it heat up one minute only cuz you don't want to burn your garlic and then I added like a tablespoon of fresh squeeze lemon juice, half of a lemon. Let that marinate with the garlic butter poured it over the cooked sardines that are warmed up. And oh my goodness it was so good. I can't tell you it didn't taste fishy it just tasted garlicy, butter and fish. I love it. I'm going to do the challenge 3 days. I can do this
@@mikethegamer2835butter is far better than toxic seed oils like canola, sunflower and the so called vegetable oils that aren’t made from vegetables and contain toxic chemicals
i've been trying and trying to eat sardines for probably a couple of years now and every time I open up a can no matter how I prepared it I couldn't even finish those small cans. But tonight I tried frying it with some olive oil without the water that comes packed in. For just about a minute or two and then I added garlic salt on top and I didn't even need the pickles on the side to drown out the taste which was my original plan this time around. And it was super delicious!
Dude thank you SO much for this recipe, all the other videos I've seen include fancy ingredients that I don't own, but this recipe was so simple and delicious!
Thank you for this video. I need to start by saying I hate sardines, so my review is skewed. This came out okay, definitely not bad though. I could still taste the sardines, which I didn't like so will use more tomato paste next time. That seemed to be the star of the show here. I made it more palatable (aka less sardine flavored) with lemon juice and some hot sauce. Appreciate the video! Trying to add sardines to my diet and this was a fun and easy recipe to try out. Looking forward to trying out more sardines recipes. Thanks again!
I’m a sardine lover since a child(I loved raw oysters too😱🤣)…but I also have too say..(I’m an old lady so I can say these things😁👵…you are so darn handsome 🐟just had to say
This is one of the most genuine videos I’ve seen. Ur smart, funny and personable. I’ll be honest though(u said safe space)that dish looked kinda rough but I get the concept. Sardines are good and good for u! I’ll tinker with some recipes. Thanks man, see u in the next one:)
Regular canned sardines are already good enough for me, and I don't need any of these complicated cooking process, I just take sardines as my daily snack.
We’re not running out of tuna but the prices have gone through the roof there are those who want to save all the tuna for themselves to eat and that’s really what it’s about but you can figure that out on your own
Being really small and thin as a kid, my mom would make me drink this horrible fish emulsion. I can still smell and taste that fishy drink. I've tried sardines and just want to gag. I do like fish just not the fishy tasting one. Thank God I grew up slender, because I've never been overweight until now, but I'm working on it.
Good stuff but why the choice to speak that way? Either way, while hard to listen to, I got a lot out of the video. Also for everyone, fat is not bad. Quite the reverse actually.
Dude your accent confuses the heck outta me. Is it Australian with thug rap? English with street hood? Totally thrown. Middle Eastern, learned English in a British community and added on hood.

Skin and bones have all the vitamins, may as well eat chicken breast
@@mikethegamer2835As a health / physique coach, this is completely false.
Just tried this without the bread and mushrooms and it was definitely more palatable. Thanks mate!

Sardines and anchovies are perfect right out of the can. I usually eat several cans of sardines and a tin or two of anchovies every week.
sardines taste very good on its own. been eating tinned sardines for years.
to make sardines less fishy tasting: squeeze a liberal amount of lemon juice on them, and combine with your favorite pasta & sauce. you're welcome.
I like you're recipe but I tweaked it a bit ..I also add a heap of crushed garlic apple cider vinegar Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper

Is it worth the price? At 99 cents for 3.75 ounces that's about a price of 4 dollars per pound.
It’s $1 for 20g of protein. I don’t know if any other nutrient dense food that has that much protein that is that cheap.
@@strengthofsaaddefinitely nutrient rich unlike candy bars.
thanks, I'll try the tomatoe paste recipe.
Add a little liquid hickory smoke flavour and onions and tomatoes, also try chopped up sprats, brislings, mackerel.
Love your personality lol
Alexander could you create more of these cooking and nutrition videos? Perhaps, you can also create daily/weekly diet routine videos?
I will make more Gerald!
onion garlic ?

trippy accent my bro, part american, part kiwi and part ozzy, intriguing, unlike sardines....
add fatty stuff like guac/avacado and alotta lime to take away the fishiness for all the people that dont like fishy
