Both have their strengths and I wouldn't really say one is better than the other. I feel the images from Samsung are on par with iPhone, but the video from I phone looks more natural, while Samsung over sharpness and adds to much saturation. The battery of the new s23 is amazing and lasts really long, I think it might be more than the iPhone. And then I enjoy media on the S23, some have complained, but I had no problems. Can't speak of the iphone as I haven't used it, but it should be good as well
Wow, great review!I am so tempted to get this phone but i am concerned about this new bananagate problem with the camera of s23.Can you tell me if your unit had this problem or everything is alright.
My unit and the few I have been able to test from friends were all good. I tried getting more units from Samsung, but I have never worked with them so hard to get them to send me anything. I bought this myself and haven't had any camera issues
Switched from S9 after 5 years and i disappointed in picture quality. I got unstable result from all cameras. There is a blur flaw called "Banana effect" in all photos. Really fast and premium phone but i am still waiting a FW update from Samsung to fix this issue .
Coming from the S20 and having an old S8 at home I can only agree with you. I am also wondering how all reviewes agree on the great picture quality, maybe it is only us two with a monday phone ....
@@emilangelov1641 this is marketing. I took my s23 and my Canon R5 camera , went to a vacation. I took hundreds of photos and videos with both device. When I opened the photos in computer I disappointed again. Image quality really sucks compared to my Canon. I took wide angle, telephoto videos in 4k and 8k. Many of them are burry. The bad news is that if you record the videos in Hevc codec it is impossible to play these in windows. You need to convert to H264 mp4 format. Photos taken with phone are looking really good on phone screen but on monitor not good. I hope samsung will fix it.

Hey Jac, My need is camera. Should i go for pixel 8 or s23. Or suggest any good phones other than Iphone. I need the phone in less weight and compact in hand. Waiting for your reply Jacccccccccccccccccccc
I would say wait until the Pixel 8 is released to see how the camera actually performs. The S23 takes good pictures and it is versatile, but I can say go for one or the other since the one isn't released yet

I currently have the A7 2018. If I get this, it'll be massive upgrade! Do you recommend A54 or S23? Battery life is really important to me and I don't know which one can last more hours..
I can't speak for the A54 unfortunately but the s23 battery life is great. I am sure the A54 is also really good, but maybe go and check a reveiw on one of them. I am sure you will be happy with either
Depends on how much storage you need. I recently removed a lot of old data and I am using less then that, but you can always buy cloud storage if it is a major problem
M an event planner and the s23 seem to lag in capturing what is seen by the nake eye, for instance the videos in low light flickers, balloon and flower colours are no where close to reality.
Using Samsung m51 which has 7000mah since 2 years, Would s23 be a good option with 3900 battery? I need location, 4/5g on, sometimes even hotspot on. I game about 2-3hrs. Will s23 be a good option to last for a day? Or s23 plus is better?
My s23 I get around 5 to 8 hours of screen on time so it should be fine I would say for your 2 to 3 hours of gaming. I also leave my location on and 5g etc, but if you want to be safe the plus should be fine
I bought the samsung s22 a few days ago the samung s22 has a very bad battery life and gets very hot during use , do you advise me to bring the s22 back and get the s23 instead the s23 has a good battery life and does it get hot ??
The S23 battery life is great and I am releasing a video soon on how to get even more out of it. It hasn't gotten hot in my use of it, but it depends where you live and what you do with it
Anyone feel like the s23 series speakers aren't as loud as the past? I just went from a s10e to the s23+ and seems like I have to have the volume significantly higher for the same loudness.
They made changes to the speakers this year so it could be the case. I don't really have that reference to compare it to, but it could be softer ir just have a different profile making it feel softer
We were just in Dubai and even in 40 plus degree weather mine didn't get hot. It can lag while taking pictures and it is worse when taking low light, but it isn't as much lag as just taking a long shot to ensure exposure is correct
That is a very difficult question to answer because it relies on a lot of factors, what do you want to use the phone for mainly, do you mind using Xiaomi's OS or do you want Samsung's, What is your budget, etc. All these can make a huge difference for people and their use cases. For me I will always go Samsung, just because they are good at what they do. Their phones are always generally solid so chances of something going wrong is less I would say, but this is a broad generalisation. If we take a look at paper specs, the Xiaomi is more expensive (at least from what I can see), but apart from the price they have very similar internals, but how the OS uses that could make the phones feel and perform different. I can't tell you which is better or which one to buy since I haven't used the Xiaomi and I would be shooting blind with a recommendation here.
The size even though it is really nice can be a con as the keyboard is pretty small, the camera for some people has problems, but apart form that I haven't really found a lot wrong with this device over the last month or so of using it.
i have had a galaxy phone since the galaxy note3, i switched to apple with the 13pro, and now after a year and half or so i thinking of switching back to samsung, but my only hiccup is that 13pro has great battery life. will the s23 be comparable?
I can confirm this as well. Depending on how much you use your phone. Sometimes, after the day, I still sometimes have around 50 to 60% if I didn't use it a lot
That isn't always the case. Sometimes manufacturers reduce the clock speeds on their lower end devices because of cooling and they want the higher end devices to perform better, plus you can get the S23 Ultra in a higher RAM unit, which will improve performance compared to the standard S23
I am fairly sure that is the Samsung Galaxy S3 slim, but if I am wrong I apologize it has been years since I used that device and they tagged that picture as an S3 slim as well.
They are both great devices, I have just heard that the iPhone 15 gets extremely hot when recording video etc for long periods, but that is about the only negative
The S21 Plus had a glass back, the smaller S21 is the one with plastic back. I agree that the regular S23 is a great phone but it seems boring and lacks that bit of an edge.
Yes I was meant to say s21 to compare it to the S23 and yes smartphones don't take large leaps as they used to in the past, rather small improvements year by year that can seem boring but also great because now you don't have to get a new phone every year
Yes, the camera is great. But using the phone and apps leaves a lot to be desired. Notifications numbers on the badges are useless -- hardly ever are correct. I've had my phone about a week and have had to spend 2 - 3 hours per day talking with Samsung tech support to learn to how to use it.
I love my s23 but unfortunately it is still not up to par with the iphone. It's absolutely annoying how hot the phone gets while in android auto. Also lots of bugs and the phone just shuts off once in awhile.still a solid phone tho 8/10
What seems to be the problem? I can look into it. I haven't been getting a camera blurr issue so it could be a setting or something I am not seeing or using
So what are your thoughts on the S23? Do you need more power or is the standard enough for you?
The S23 Plus is what I require mostly due to the bigger battery

I love my s23 battery is amazing and the whole device.
The battery is actually amazing. I love it. Yeah every day I also just fall in love with it again
Between iPhone 14+ and s23, which is a better option, considering mainly camera, battery backup and media consumption.
Can't speak of the iphone as I haven't used it, but it should be good as well
Does it have any heating issues hearing that it have some issues
Wow, great review!I am so tempted to get this phone but i am concerned about this new bananagate problem with the camera of s23.Can you tell me if your unit had this problem or everything is alright.
My unit and the few I have been able to test from friends were all good. I tried getting more units from Samsung, but I have never worked with them so hard to get them to send me anything.
I bought this myself and haven't had any camera issues
@@Jacqie Thank you for the feedback!
@onlygameplay755 it could still be a problem when you get the device, but wasn't for me
@@Jacqie well i hope if i have this problem that my warranty covers it

it's an app called Fluid, not a wallpaper unfortunately
I agree, but what concerned me is that S23 doesn't have a eSim option in sim manager.
You can add an esim. I was going to use it in Dubai and just checked now it is an option

Anyone experiencing the same complaint?
Please help if you know any remedy.....
Been shouting the same thing from the rooftops since it came out. Absolutely nuts phones
I am loving every moment with it
What would you choose between s23 and iphone 14?i m not decided ,i found them at same price,i don t know which one is more durable and is doing better pictures.thank you
I had this debate as well, both are really great devices, both should offer similar image quality in terms of pictures, but for me iphone 14 has got more natural video in my opinion. But both are really great, I just prefer Samsung and Android a bit more
@@Jacqie thank you for your answer ,i will buy samsung s 23 hope will happy with this choice
@Florentina Bandrabur i hope so too.
Using it for last 1month. Its a beast. Upgraded from iPhone 12.
Thanks for the feedback. Always good to get more people's opinions on something
Do you regret switching from iPhone? Thinking about making the switch
@@CJQ19 i m using iPhone too with s23.
And there are some things which are incredibly good in s23. Like smoothness. Touch response omg it is so fucking good.
The camera's are so good.
Front camera colours are abit better on iPhone but s23s photos are sharpers then iPhone.
Battery is also good.
I m heavy user (except gaming).
The only problem is application support. There are some glitches on apps (sometimes) other then that's it's so good.
The only major problem is Video call quality in low light. It sucks even worst then my old samsung device(s9+)
Overall i m happy with the product.

Nice quality content and production
Thank you. I appreciate it
Do you think I need a screen protector for S23?I am afraid of losing speed of fingerprint and clear view on the display
Yes
It is always safer just to have one on. If you buy a good one, it shouldn't affect the quality of the fingerprint scanner or the display too much

Hey, nice video very detailed but one thing, im considering buying the s23 but 128 gb and will that be a problem?
Depends on how much storage you need. I recently removed a lot of old data and I am using less then that, but you can always buy cloud storage if it is a major problem
M an event planner and the s23 seem to lag in capturing what is seen by the nake eye, for instance the videos in low light flickers, balloon and flower colours are no where close to reality.
phones have a tendency to over sharpen and over saturate. i think if you turn off "Scene optimizer" it should be better, maybe give it a try
Good video quality and good editing. Wish you lots of success
Thank you so much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the video
4:36 whats the name of the app?
Fluid in Google Play Store
Using Samsung m51 which has 7000mah since 2 years,
Would s23 be a good option with 3900 battery?
It hasn't gotten hot in my use of it, but it depends where you live and what you do with it
I got it for 27k 2 days back after my iPhone 12 mini exchange. I can't be happier.
That is amazing. Glad you are enjoying it
The unit looks more gray than green.
And boy, Jacquie looks CUTE!
Thank you! 😊 and yes it is sort of a faded grey green color. Looks really nice
Just changed to S23 from iphone 12. Everthing is ok, except sometimes the notifications are delayed. Perfect size for everyday carrying
The size is really good. Typing is sometimes a bit more difficult compared to the plus, but love the size for my pockets and how it feels in hand
I notice that photos from pro mode has clearer pictures compared to normal camera mode. Overall i prefer the s22 over the 6/6A.
I will test this out and check if that is the case for me too
I'm worried about storage I have more than 100 GB of photo/video on my iPhone and need at least 256GB. is there something that's like iCloud?
You do get Samsung cloud with 15Gb storage as a start which you can then upgrade if needed yes
first I want take s23+ but the compact size on s23 reguler is absolutly won for me.. and I dont regret it
Glad you are happy with the s23
One of the best reviews!
I just can't believe Marques Brownlee called this phone the bust of the year. This is almost a perfect phone for many people.
It is a really good device for many people. I love the size and functionality of this phone so much.
Does it lag when taking pictures? Does it get hot?
We were just in Dubai and even in 40 plus degree weather mine didn't get hot. It can lag while taking pictures and it is worse when taking low light, but it isn't as much lag as just taking a long shot to ensure exposure is correct
@@Jacqie thank you for the response!

For me it lasts an entire day with about 30-40% left, but depends on what regulat ise is for you, coulf be less or even more
I liked the cream one it's great using the phone.Tons of feature that I also don't know
The cream looks good as well, I actually like them all but green is still my favorite haha. Hopefully you can get the hang of all the features soon
Which is better for you? Xiaomi 13 or galaxy s23 and why?
INTELLIGENT VIDEO!
EXCELLENT OBSERVATIONS
Glad you enjoyed it
I honestly think I won't see a big upgrade in picture quality coming from a OnePlus 7 though in general I like the s23 standard version.
Oh yeah the OnePlus 7 is good, you might not get a massive difference in quality

I have been watching videos of S23 for a while but did not find any.

i have had a galaxy phone since the galaxy note3, i switched to apple with the 13pro, and now after a year and half or so i thinking of switching back to samsung, but my only hiccup is that 13pro has great battery life. will the s23 be comparable?
I have s23 and battaary life is amazing gets me a full day with 30% to end the day
I can confirm this as well. Depending on how much you use your phone. Sometimes, after the day, I still sometimes have around 50 to 60% if I didn't use it a lot
The battery is actually really good with the S23 range and there are a bunch of ways to improve it even more. Will make a video on that shortly
what do you mean you have more power on the s23 ultra? its the same chipset it should perform the same
That isn't always the case. Sometimes manufacturers reduce the clock speeds on their lower end devices because of cooling and they want the higher end devices to perform better, plus you can get the S23 Ultra in a higher RAM unit, which will improve performance compared to the standard S23
@Jacqie the s23 ultra performs a little bit better like 3 more fps in genshin but tbh what helps is thr minimums is much higher on s23ultra
can u do a comparison of S23 with iphone 13 or 14
If I can get my hands on an Iphone. They don't really work with creators in South Africa that often.
watching on my green s23. excellent phone to say the least.
And such a good color
That's not the S3 that you showed there. That's some mid-range Samsung phone from back in the day, like a Grand 2 or something.
I am fairly sure that is the Samsung Galaxy S3 slim, but if I am wrong I apologize it has been years since I used that device and they tagged that picture as an S3 slim as well.

Sorry this has been your experience. Hopefully you have it setup now and ready
There is camera issue about focusing
I miss Samsung. On iPhone now for the first time. Samsung needs better shutter speed and face recognition.
I agree with this. There will always be some problems with each device, but honestly most devices these days are great.
I love my s23 but unfortunately it is still not up to par with the iphone. It's absolutely annoying how hot the phone gets while in android auto. Also lots of bugs and the phone just shuts off once in awhile.still a solid phone tho 8/10
