When I was younger, I was lucky enough to have a local game store that the employee who would run the store, genuinely loved the ccg's we played and would just lock the doors and let everyone hang out and play until really late into the night. Then we would all go to 24/7 resturants and keep playing. It was great. I miss those times.
I think double-sleeving will help with foil curling. You need to double-sleeve each card and then compact the cards so that the air is pulled out. Leave your deck under a heavy book for a few days to get started. Then, just focus on keeping them packed tight in a deck box going forward. This is also crucial if you anticipate a card(s) in your deck to be a collector item (showcase cards).
@@Outmaneuver Side loading inner sleeves tend to make the process a lot less of a hassle. Also, never know when your cards (foil or not) will be worth more. I recently sold out of my prize winnings from MTG (after 10 years of playing), and the condition I stored them helped me recoup my costs, plus some!
I like the promo borders. It’s the color of the aspect it’s with and it’s kinda like it’s fading in to the art. Plus the bossk and greedo look like a old western wanted poster with the orange and yellow
Not sure if this was clear or said, but op kits are NOT free to stores. Hence why stores don't hand OP packs out to people doing open play rather than paid weeklies.Love the pod so far!
New listener. Do yall do the episodes live? If not some inclusions of a picture of cards you are talking about would be greatly appreciated! All good if it’s not added. Awesome content! Can’t wait for more!
Thanks for the listen! We used to add some pictures when we first started but it added a lot of backend work that didn’t prove to show much difference in viewership so we canned it for now. Thanks for the kind words hope you continue to tune in!
I come from yugioh and the packs you are talking about are called OTS packs and contain "ultimate rare" versions of popular/fan favorite cards as the chase cards (textured foils) The key difference is that it comes with your paid entry to the tournament vs just showing up so I'm not sure how that will carry over to this game just handing them out for free
The majority of cards are not expensive. Since launch, the only price increases have been in the legendaries. However, Vader namely, will drop in price eventually. it might be a little longer, but its not a $100 staple. Especially considering the amount of product available, it's hard to see the price stabilizing where they are at. I would recommend buying rare staples due to how cheap they are. But Legendaries can wait.
@@SammelstelleBrett-undKarten I don’t have a fear of missing out though. I’m fortunate enough in my life to buy nice things. I do play 93/94 mtg after all and don’t need proxies 😂 I’m just saying for everyone else out there, don’t sleep on this game!

I have some similar memories. So far I have had a chance to relive those with SWU
This game is so good.. It does feel like simpler times

Yea seems like a lot of extra work for foils lol

Yea I mean most stores are currently requiring folks to play in the events so that’s the issue with them atm!
$10-12? The stores where I live are changing 17-20...
I assume you live in a large city then maybe not sure!
No one should be using foils in a serious tournament to avoid the disqualification issue
I agree!
Buy the cards for this game asap before they’re all super expensive and hard to get
Dont start with this FOMO...
