I loved the interaction between Mahiru and Tenko It makes really clear that Mahiru doesn't like males that much and she clearly says to Tenko that wish all males "death" it's too far I love both but Mahiru is better
@@bunshr00m mahiru is not a feminist in the pure sense of the word. She obviously is very traditional and thinks guys should be held to a certain standard and act a certain way simply because they are guys. She believes in things like chivalry and gender roles..which if that’s the values you have there’s nothing wrong with, but it’s not feminism. Feminism focuses on equality, where each gender be held to the exact same standards, where there are no gender roles, and focuses primarily on absolute equality in every aspect. It’s a very modernized and non traditional set of values. On paper there’s nothing wrong with it either if that’s the life you choose to live, but it’s important to know the distinction.
Now I’m not a mahiru fan by any stretch, but I do really like her character. I just don’t get why people get so butthurt over her. “ERMUHGERD SHEZ SEXIST!” Like is that not kinda hypocritical? A lot of these male players want these female characters to be perfectly feminine basically, they want them to act and do more feminine things, it’s why some of the cast have ridiculous proportions for kids that are like only 17, but they want these female characters to assume perfect waifu gender roles, but want to get upset when mahiru claps back? Like if you want her to adhere to a traditional gender role, it’s hypocritical to get upset when her character expects you to as well, it’s a two way street, you can’t have your cake and eat it to. It’s one quality about mahiru I respect, she ain’t some perfect unrealistic female character, she feels pretty authentic and real compared to others. And she speaks her mind which is refreshing. People just be mad cause she won’t be a perfect waifu and is throwing their own expectations back at them. And as a side tangent, I think that’s a reason why marriages fail so often these days. We want the other partner to adhere to specific roles and do specific things but we ourselves don’t want to do the same for the partner. which is to me personally, I believe is similar to how mahiru haters react to mahiru.
"but they want these female characters to assume perfect waifu gender roles, but want to get upset when mahiru claps back?" "It’s one quality about mahiru I respect, she ain’t some perfect unrealistic female character, she feels pretty authentic and real compared to others. And she speaks her mind which is refreshing. " "People just be mad cause she won’t be a perfect waifu and is throwing their own expectations back at them. " "I believe is similar to how mahiru haters react to mahiru." Hmm well for me (and probably other people as well) I don't hate Mahiru, I only despise her a little bit but I never found Mahiru attractive or "waifu like" in the first place. I actually treat woman as equals as I'm not the type of person to have any submissive expectations of them. The concept of a gender role didn't even cross my mind when I watch Danganronpa. All I want is respect and logic from everyone, male or female it doesn't matter to me all are should be equal and fair to one another. I heard that Mahiru only acts how she acts towards men just because of a personal experience in her life of her father leaving the family, where my dislike about her stands is that there is absolutely no logic or fairness for her to act less neutral to all males she meets in her life just because of her own personal experience. At the second Hajime or any other male first meets her the lines above her eyes automatically gets slanted in between, she even gets worked up enough to call Korekiyo a pervert (although I think Korekiyo IS a pervert(lol), but how could she have known beforehand whether or not he was one?), just for looking intently at the pictures that both had boys and girls in it. Ironically Mahiru's own judgement and negative opinion against males is irresponsible and insensitive in itself.
Luke, you really have a big problem and a worrying way of thinking, seek help, maybe you are the sexist thinking that male players don't like her because she is not "feminine", there are girls like Miu, Sakura, Kirigiri, etc. That they are not "traditionally feminine" and the players adore them, the truth is that none of the female characters in dagaronpan are or do "traditionally female" things. Stop assuming, maybe the players don't like that she complain so much about men or something else, how worrying that people give you so many likes.
My thing is I don't get why people hate characters with flaws. Yeah, Mahiru is flawed when it comes to how she treats men... but it's because the men in her life have always let her down and made her life worse. It doesn't justify it, but it does make her reasons sympathetic. And it isn't a blind hatred either, she clearly likes the boys she spends time with. When one of the guys gives proper feedback to her photos, like Nekomaru did, she gets really happy. She just needs to get to know more guys and she'd stop having such a negative opinion of them. Deep down, underneath her childhood memories of men, she doesn't hold any particular biases, she just doesn't have time for men like her father. She apologises when she oversteps that line too. Look at how she treated Kiyo when he was looking at her photos. She originally accused him of looking at them because they were pictures of cute girls, but he explained he had an anthropological interest in them and he already had someone in his life. And Mahiru clearly felt bad, and she apologised. A perfect example of how she's flawed, but not blindly hateful. But... unfortunately, Kiyo is one of those people who she should be wary of.
People say Mahiru is like Tenko but I disagree. (I like them both btw.) Mahiru is harsh and straight forward but she just wants the boys to be mature and not be jerks. She doesn’t hate men or uncomfortable around men. In a Gonta’s interaction with her, she is actually really nice to him. She just wants them to improve and not be like her lazy dad. If anything she wants men to be more reliable.
I lover her but everyone pretty much hates her. This basically happened: **Mahiru dies** **Almost everyone:She hated man good thing she's dead!** *Reason she did: Had a lazy father that made her do everything* **Tenko dies** **Almost everyone:Oh no poor Tenko I liked her!** **Hated men because they are men** (・・?)
She hates men, not because they are men, but because her master told her men are terrible. And it's not even like Tenko really hated them, she just says that... a lot. Tenko is much better waifu than Mahiru.

when seeing mahiru koizumi for the first time, i already sensed the benevolence and independence in her character. i dare do say that i loved her character when i witnessed that default sprite. it's almost like a "perfect japanese female character" aura was originating from her visual innocence. her role as a photographer is something she discriminates too, keep in mind, but the photographer role is the most convenient and evident tool for a detective series although i did love her the second i saw her, her survival rate was not something i could determine with the expectation of convenience. concerning the fact that she was a contributor to the ultimate impostor's "murder" case's investigation sequence in the neo world program, her convenience level was too high for me to believe that she would be capable of surviving the entire game, even with my instantaneous character based love. with danganronpa, an opinion on a character is a fundamental for the emotion of the one experiencing the very character. for example, people believe in celestia ludenberg when they witness her but she manipulates hifumi yamada into murdering kiyotaka ishimaru and then murders hifumi. that level of brutality from celestia is completely unexpected of anyone first experiencing her character
