The fact that she was just a jerk but she had to pay with her life. Also the fact that in the games Mahiru was the one who was punished for this, she did nothing wrong in the situation besides be noticed by his sister. Not the biggest fan of her but it just sucks now that we got context on the sister and Mahiru
I actually have a very different opinion on the matter. While Natsumi was by no means likable person on the outside, you have to also remember that people know that she’s the daughter of the Kuzuryuu family and the little sister of the Shsl Gangster, so she does in fact have a reputation to uphold. Besides that, to her, those people in the Reserve Course must have been nothing but temporary acquaintances to her, so she probably didn’t feel any reason to hold back what’s on her mind. Also, it’s actually an irrefutable fact that Mahiru was not entirely innocent when it came to Natsumi dying and that whole situation. If you remember, Mahiru covered for Sato so that people wouldn’t realize that Sato was the one who murdered Natsumi. In other words, she may not have taken part in the murder, but she’s definitely still an accomplice. I’m in no way attempting to justify her actions, but Natsumi is described as insecure and apparently bullied others to make herself feel better. She was jealous of Mahiru for being able to take better photos of her back when they were in the photography club together which led to her bullying her. With something like that plus her nature as a yakuza, I’m pretty sure anyone in her shoes would fall into the same habits.

It honestly sucked that Sato killed Natsumi, a mean girl of empty threats and power she only used to instill fear, in fear of her friend becoming a talentless regular if she gets replaced. People saying that she looks like komaru, I don't even remember komaru. Mahiru was quite normal but she was such a nice addition to chast, I wish she lived instead of someone as useless as Akane and actually had a mind of his own, unlike Kazuichi who said he was going to just do whatever the others chose to do. Why do all three danganronpa have both exretemely useless and extremely bad survivors (YASUHIRO, Akane, Kazuichi, Himiko)
@@AnixZiel Maki and Aoi both served a similar trope, both of their growth was attached to someone else. Sakura and Kaito, and different from Akane their characters actually improved after the death of their friend. Both of them even try to twist the trials into a lose, and Maki nominated herself to sacrifice herself on the last trial to have the others escape and Aoi basically became Makoto legs on the Anime.
I always thought she could have made for a nice love interest for the protagonist (Hajime), kinda like what Kyoko and Kaede were to Makoto and Shuichi. She was fairly normal and had a relatively simple, responsible and survivor-like personality, kind of like those other two, I was honestly surprised when I found out that wasn't the case.
For me, my favorites are Aoi, Komaru, himiko... maybe Chiaki? (I don’t have any of the girls in goodbye despair as my favorite.... but maybe chiaki and mahiru are somewhere in there..)
