Shrek the four film collection will also be getting a 4k blu ray release pretty soon. @criterioncollection also announced their July releases which includes an 80s classic Risky Business. Someone from Target released a statement that Target will still sell select new releases in stores and they'll add some different titles for Black Friday and around the holidays where they feel people will buy them for gifts. But I agree the physical media section at target has always been the worst of all the major stores. So it's really not a big deal.
As long as they keep their online store and are committed to it then it’s not a major loss. I don’t know if other Targets embraced it in their stores but the ones by me made it feel like an afterthought lol.
There are several interesting topics here that I’d like to add my take on, but I wanted to first mention a film that I’ve been toying around in my head sometime for a possible remake…which is Steve McQueen’s Bullitt, one of my favorite cop flicks with the greatest car chase of all time! I also have an unshakable obsession of imaging Daniel Craig for the role because I consider him to be the Steve McQueen of our time😎
My uncle loves Bullitt and seeing the pandemic actually mailed me the DVD he had it’s still a great car chase all of these years later!)
I am definitely excited for The Risky Business release coming soon
That’s going to be a fun one to revisit.
I think the last movie I bought from Target was Top Gun Maverick. Since then, Target has been an afterthought as far as buying movies, especially recently anyway. I also preordered Forrest Gump 4K steelbook.
I want to get that Gump Steelbook because I love the movie but I want to see if anything gets added lol
Counting the days to July! I’ll be getting Farewell My Concubine (an excellent film classic starring the great, late, Leslie Cheung), Le Samouraï (I’ve been waiting forever for a 4K and almost bought the 1080p in the last Criterion sale, glad I didn’t), and definitely Risky Business, an 80s American classic!
I’ll definitely check those films out! Thank you for letting me know your thoughts on those movies. I can’t wait for Risky business though!!

FORREST GUMP 4k I heard bad things but when I bought it for $9 on sale it looks good to me.
It just looks to dark and dim to me. It’s still really sharp. I just need it brighter lol.
@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I think they added that extra black tint to give it that grain look from what I remember. Still I seen worse 4k out there that get me upset and this 4k is not one of them.
@ricogomez4020 no definitely not the worst 4K. Thats really my only issue and I think if they fix that it can be a great 4K

At lwast we have Barnes and Novels and those stores that sells both 4K and blurays for cheap prices
Some thrift stores really embrace physical media too which is nice!

The B&N closest to me has shrunk their home video offerings from a whole movie/music section to just one shelf for movies within the past 2 years, and B&N was never known to have the best prices except when they have sales and combined with BN membership. I actually donated a box full of DVDs and Blu-ray last year to a nearby goodwill store of titles that I’ve upgraded to HD and 4K, and the elderly gent there who took in my donations was astonished by many titles he’d love to have if he had a Blu-ray player lol. I would’ve gladly given him the Sony player that I had given away to a friend before I visited his store!
@nickchang5293 You see that’s the thing! We can’t get more people into Physical media if they don’t know how good it can be. The B&N by me has a pretty big section and when I say by me it’s about a half hour away so I don’t go that often but it’s nice when I pop in there.

I have an 8 month old daughter and believe me nothing prepares you for having a kid it's beyond overwhelming in every way. You really have to be ready to accept your life will never be the same again and your child will take over every aspect of your life and marriage for good and bad. If your ready for that then go ahead but if your not then don't. It's good to hear how responsible you guys are about it all me and my wife are in our late 30s and started a family late and wanted to wait untill we were ready. Don't let society pressure you do what you believe is best for yourself your marriage and your future child if you decide to have one 😁👍. If you do have a kid I can tell you for free say goodbye to doing your channel and watching any movies you just won't have the time 😂😂😂😂.
That’s something i’m afraid of too is having no free time for movies lol. Thats a selfish way to think I know. Thats is definitely Faith and my way of thinking is if we can’t be fully committed to being parents then we shouldn’t have a skid because that’s not fair to the child. I didn’t know you just had a kid, Congrats to you and your wife both!
@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia thank you! Yeah unfortunately you are just never prepared or ready for how much a child impacts your life especially if you don't have a lot of money or outside support. The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is spot on. Im just an average guy who has an average job (uber driver) and dont have family to help out so if you have a similar set up to me it's tough. I haven't watched a movie since her birth and is looking unlikely for many years ahead which is tough because movies is my only escape from reality and reality has got more tough with a child lol. Watching all these new 4ks coming out and I can't buy any or watch any of my existing 4ks is hard and yes it's selfish to think this way but I'm only human and I can only give you my advice as somebody who is in the thick of it that its hard and you have to be strong willed to get through it. Your channel has helped me through this time and I thank you so much for all your great content you guys are a great couple and I love your passion for movies. I just want you to know that without you knowing you have helped me so much to enjoy the 5 minutes I get in the day lol 😁👍👍
@021om6 Thank you so much for saying that. I’m glad I can do that for you! I totally get that because mine is are my only escape. I actually Uber eats for extra money and work in a Butcher full time now too. Between that and RUclips I try and watch a one movie a day even if that’s for a review. And I love sports, Wresting and used to love video games but there isn’t enough time in the day. If we have a kid I want to make sure i’m ready to loose that too. I do here it’s the most rewarding thing to have a child though.
@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia I did ubereats during lockdown it's good to see how hard you work and still find time to bang out videos too. Yes it's definitely rewarding but you have to be ready for complete change to every aspect of your life because it will never be the same again. Whatever decision you make as a couple I wish you all the best and I'm sure you'll make the best decision for you both 😁👍
@021om6 Thanks buddy I really appreciate you saying that. It won’t be an easy decision to make but we have to make one before we run out of time lol. I wouldn’t be able to do youtube if I didn’t like it. I had to blend my love of d movies with this. There’s no way to make this a full time job unless you’re one of the big channels or have full time backing. Otherwise the most this does is pay for the movies I review so it’s more of a money saver than a money earner lol.
Target in store was crap selection. With them having a shoplifting problem maybe that's why they did away with in store.
I doubt that because I don’t think that’s what people are stealing. They just never showed any love to it anyway. At least by me.

Yeah but I think in Target that’s it what they’re stealing loll. I don’t know why other Targets look like but I worked at one during a christmas seasons like 13 years ago and people mostly stole video games and sports stuff lol
