Ah Searchlight, I have been meaning to come here for a while now to film the manual collection that is still happening within town, but time constraints, and me prioritizing filming automated collection in the Henderson area had taken up all my free time up until now since I favor automated collection more haha. The town is only about a 35-40 minute drive from me. Henderson and Las Vegas still have some manual routes, but it's very small routes, mainly in tight alleys/streets that are not practical to send an automated truck into and that is why Searchlight remains to be manually collected, various terrains here consist of tight hilly dirt roads so a rear loader is much practical. I will say when I got to the town I missed them on most of the tight areas. If and when I go back to film there again I will make it my priority.
It was honestly cool seeing these modern carts handled the old fashion way. I even caught a dumpster being tipped! Some people still even use their own cans. Searchlight is small enough for one truck to handle both trash and recycle. They also pick up the bulk/extra trash. These guys then go to Laughlin once they are done to dump the truck out, then they have lunch and jump back on to do recycle. Although, the recycling route is very, very short due to the people not recycling properly so most carts end up contaminated with garbage. I got some footage of them on recycle, but it was short so I will include it in my part two of this video. Filming this video also made me realize how quiet these new rear loaders are compared to our older red ones, you could hear those a mile away lol!
Thank you to the super nice crew for making this video possible!! They do a great job around here! Hope you both found the video! Thanks for watching and enjoy!!!
Nice to see another Clark County community documented by you! Forget recycle, seems like some residents can't even trash right lol. Does the crew do other rural communities the rest of the week? Looking forward to part 2!
@@zp12684 Thank you! I am so glad to finally be able to film here haha. I regret not going sooner. Yeah, if you mean that stop towards the middle of the video yeah the guy found a car battery in there and said the truck would catch on fire. The customer insisted it wasn't him that put that battery in there, sounded like a lie to me! No, these guys work in Henderson the rest of the week. The guy pitching Hector said he drives 1684 Mondays and does ASL the rest of the week. Pretty sure it's the same for the other guy as well. Part two will be up in due time!
Cool to see some of the remaining manual filmed. Was wondering how long until these trucks came to light. Theres a few other areas with a lot of dumpsters around. Nice work
@@westcoastrefusetrucks Thank you, sorry it took so long haha. Oh yes, indeed! Thanks again!
Amazing video I saw this truck on dumpsters.
@@cafirth1 Thank you! Cool!
I have to let you know henderson got 4 new pythons with a hopper cover and they are blue just found one yesterday.
@@bobbygeraci2496 Yup, I was told about it by my driver in August that we would get some! Do you know who was driving it? What was the truck number? I plan on going out there Monday to find some!
Nice catch! Its good to see manual trash! I also saw 1327 about a week ago.
@@RepublicServicesFan Thank you, indeed! Cool!
Awesome video!! This brought back memories of when Vegas was still manual collection. It was fun seeing them dump the new carts the old way with the cart tipper.. So they don’t have recycle here?
@@PlaneSpotterRVer314 Thank you! Indeed it is fun seeing them collect these carts the good ol fashioned way! They do have recycle here, it's collected later in the day, most is contaminated though so it ends up in the garbage though.
Wow! Great video! Loved it. I didn’t know they drop the load in Laughlin. Is there another Republic yard out there I didn’t know about??
I’m starting to get the idea the theory was that, they must have kept the Amrep, and rear loaders coming down here for as long as they did, because they knew the hills were so steep, and there were low hanging power lines in this area, according to Xpeditor Driver, so they probably couldn’t send an ASL, or even a front loader like they did in Summerlin, so they had to wait until they came up with an alternative to ASL’s. I think that makes sense.
How does the load drop in Laughlin work?
@@GMTX-kg8ep Thank you!!! No there is no other yard but a landfill owned by Republic Services in Laughlin. Although, they do keep a front loader there and one or two roll off trucks to service the town. Oh yeah, these areas are not ideal for an ASL to run in. So they just dump the truck out at the Laughlin landfill, have lunch, and come back for recycle then head back to the Henderson yard. It must be further away dumping the trash load back at the Henderson yard then in Laughlin that's why they go down there to dump the load.
@@TheNVTrashMan that’s what I thought. Either way, I never knew there was a landfill in Laughlin. Pretty cool.
Amazing video bro
@@garbagetrucksofsanmarcosca Thank you!
@@TheNVTrashMan no problem

@@AlliedWaste2417 It's picked up on Fridays!
