    Amazing to see so many people building on sand. What did they think would happen?

    Sorry to see, hope everyone is alright. We need to be prepared for these things, no matter where you live. We are all subject to atleast one source of natural disasters. Our wearher is changing, and more violent radical weather is ahead. Our planet is going through changes... and so do we.... God bless

    The sand dunes weren’t built ...they were here through nature! It was trying to alter nature by building a waterway that nature didn’t authorize. Not to mention huge steel mills pouring toxins in the dunes. Please read the history of the Indian Dunes, which is was why it was declared a National LakeShore by the federal Government as one our National Parks. Do you think Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon where “built” as well!

  • @thomasmaughan4798

    Unbelievable. No context establishing shot. What is behind? A lake? An ocean? A really wide river? A freighter kicking up a wake? Well I suppose its Google to the rescue. UPDATE: Southeast of Chicago on the shore of Lake Michigan. So, almost an ocean.

    Very good documentation of the effects of the natural forces of nature against the unnatural structures. My question is who pays for the damage?

    • @idmhead0160
      @idmhead0160 4 года назад

      Should be the Army Core of Engineers and their f__ked up break wall that's preventing sand to be naturally deposited on the shore line. Or maybe the Port Authority can pay for it. They are the ones that caused the problem even before the lake levels went up.

    If you’re going to encroach upon an area which ultimately belongs to the Great Lake, don’t be alarmed when the lake wants to use what rightly belongs to her.

    Many years ago some houses on the orygun coast were built on sand dunes and the storms came and undercut them and they were destroyed. I think there is a Biblical admonition about not building on foundations of sand.
    Mat 7:24-27 (NIV) "Therefore everyone who hears these words of
    mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his
    house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the
    winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because
    it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these
    words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish
    man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams
    rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with
    a great crash."
