Dan, from where I’m standing, your performances look and sound GREAT! Don’t spend too much time and energy on mistakes you may have made (they happen then they pass), spend it on new ideas that DID work on the stand and surprised you for the positive instead. I am not saying don’t be critical on your performance, just don’t forget to praise and enjoy the moment and the opportunity to perform 😊

@ absolutely Dan. I have been playing the horn for about 40 yrs now but on an entirely different level than players like you, but if there’s one thing I learned, it is to appreciate the process of improvement 😊 the analysis about the pot stirring was great btw, really enjoy your content!

Totally appreciate that perspective. Loved your video of Luiza by the way. Great sound!

@ thank you! First time I ‘dared’ to transcribe the great Maestro @MaxIonata who is one of my favorite living players. He recorded such a beautiful version of that song. I should (video)record myself more on these transcribes. As part of the improvement process 😅

You’re definitely super hard on yourself and your harshest critic, even when you sound amazing on stage. ❤ For me, I think if the musicians are having fun and if there’s synergy among the band members, that energy translates more than any technically perfect or polished performance.
P.S. The acknowledgement of your toast popping was great comedic content. 😂 “I’m really hard on myself about… my toast” 🤣 Love the candid nature of these shorts. Love you! 😘
