Paired a 20mm Eulit Baltic Perlon beige strap to my no date LLD 42. Best match so far for my 6.5” wrist! Bought the watch in 2009 and still loving it!! Yes it works for my small wrist and 178cm tall.
42mm for me hands-down due to wrist size restrictions (8-inch plus) and I prefer the patina markers! Overall more balanced proportionately too. I've seen this model on some high-end aftermarket mesh bracelets and its a stunner on one of those! Great catch Andrei, and as always, great video!
I’m the proud owner of the 39mm with black dial and love it. The video that made me finally push the button and buy it was yours. So thank you for the great video that cost me just under £3000, as I got a small discount from my AD. 😊
Congratulations! It's always tough to be the first to grab one, the discounts are small. however the watch is beyond stunning, I love it in ever aspect and I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't very good. I'd say, well spend 3K on it :D Cheers!
Thank you for your take on this very nice new watch. For it's price it is definitely not for me. I'm not gonna feed anyone's greed and rather pick another Tudor. Cheers!
I own this watch and love it. Its nearly perfect. One thing id like to respond to tho is i dont agree that it looks good on leather. Gotta be the bracelet or rubber for me
Normally when given a choice in a comparison video, I can easily pick one over the other but the choice between the older 42mm and the newer 39mm is for me at least, a bit more difficult. Initially my preference leaned towards the 42 due to the warmness of the dial and its layout combined with the angle of the lugs and the watch’s versatility when paring it with straps. However as the video progressed, I found the 39 increasingly compelling with the updated specifications and the legibility especially in low light conditions. The 42mm would ultimately edge out the 39mm by the slimmest of margins for me at least. I thoroughly enjoyed this review! Well done 🥃
Thank you Alvin, indeed, both have weaknesses and strengths. It's actually really tough to choose between them, One being iconic throught size and design ans the other one benefits of the latest finishing levels or lume. Cheers!
Dear BraveBeater, the quality of your content is really superb and you continuously raise the bar. Loved the water spraying sequence in particular. I don’t have anything more relevant to say but I’ve learnt that long comments helps with the algorithms and you truly deserve more visibility ;)
39mm will be my next watch purchase, simply gorgeous and great timing for the video. Interesting question though, with it's pricing your definitely getting in the same market as second hand Black Bay 58's. Now that's a comparison I would like to see!
I have the OG 42mm with date, and love it. It came with the Longines Milanese bracelet which just elevates it when you need to, otherwise it's on a leather, nato or rubber strap. It just eats straps for breakfast, such a cool watch.
Great videography and lighting of these two watches. I would be happy with either of them as I'm not generally a date at 3 fan but some watches carry it off better than others. Although the 39mm is on the expensive side it has an arguably better base movement, nothing wrong with the 2824 but the 2892 is a tad more refined and thinner that would add to the cost and maybe service cost might be greater due to the general availability of parts, 2824 parts are everywhere. I've been pondering a Legend Diver for quite a few years but was not quite ready to pull the trigger as I had reservations on the case options and that execution of the date at 3. The 39 would be my preference on the bracelet but I'd put it on a decent leather strap to wear out and about. Many thanks for sharing.
I have quite small wrists but I have absolutely no problem with the 42 version. The lugs perfectly follow the contour of the wrist and the case is quite thin, so I personally don't understand the hype about the 39...maybe good if you have really tiny wrists. In general, my personal suggestion is not to use nato straps. They add to the thickness of the watch.
Great great video as usual. I am a proud owner of a 42mm no date. I love the rubber strap you paired them with. Any info about them? Where could I get one??
I don’t mind wearing a big diameter and thick diver watches, but long thin lugs exceeding 50ish do scare the crap out of me. Although the way they are facing aggressively downwards they seem to hug the wrist nicely. I like em both but the 42 seem more … appropriate for a 300m diver watch (feels like comparing the skx007 with the skx013)
Thank you for this great Review, i own the 42 mm Butt can,t find a good rubber strap. What kind of rubber strap is showen in your Video? Greetings from Germany
Unless the crown for the internal bezel is screw down, I would turn down both. It becomes a fidget spinner, if the crown becomes loose, and the bezel functionality made moot. If this is not the case 42 is better, since the internal bezel would make it look like a 38-40 mm dial. 38 mm with bezel would shrink the dial to appear like a 34-36, only for small wrists, imo.
Basically you get caliber 80 with fancier rotor in 42mm version for 3000€.You can get the same caliber in the price range of 600€ watch and for me this is the main problem of Longines.
Before all the young shmucks crap on about original size of watches being “small” you must learn that ALL DIVERS WERE BIG! that means 42mm and bigger! If you have a small wrist mentality then buy a field watch AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT DIVE WATCHES BEING BIG! - Tough love so get over it! 😡 😂
The 39 doesn’t work for me. They got it right the first time and then again with the re issue. This one looks bulbous, lacks proportion and has a cluttered dial. And it’s 3k to boot. The 39 is a fine watch but the 42 re issue is just better.
Gonna get load of bad comments for this but 39mm case is far too small and nato are horrible and bronze watches should not exist. This is my humble opinion that no one cares. 🫡
I agree on all 3 point! In fact I’d rather wear an apple watch than wear a 39 bronze watch on a nato. And I always say I’d rather check the time on my VCR than on an apple watch :)

Love that 39, and the two strap options you show it with. Sporty and dressy, suitable for all occasions. My idea of a slick GADA
Exactly! GADA for sure!

You should try each size on, then make an informed decision, if you are actually looking to go for this watch.

Yes, it is something apart, for sure! :)
Great video man. I love the 39mm LLD!

I know this is a small issue but I wish they would put lume in the bezel!
Interesting video! Thx.

Beautifull, vintage, modern, elegant, sporty, dark, shiny, wide, compact, day and night…
¿Blue or black Mr. Brave? 🤔
Saludos desde España
Hi Alberto! I think with black it's easier to play around with straps. blue might be a bit more niched. Cheers! :)
@@BraveBeaters Totally agree, and the black seems to me higher class
I have 2 versions of the 42mm thats how i love the LLD
Every time I see this watch, I want it more and more. With a 39mm model out, I’m aiming to get it. What a classy design.
Sorry if you already said so - what are those rubber straps? Look fantastic

great looking watches, i more a neo-vintage guy, so for me it's the 39mm version.
But the price it's a no no for me, it's sad.
Agree! :)
To me the new is like an homage. The original is 10 times better.
Either one of these would look great on an Artem strap.
Yes, for sure :)
I like the 39mm better size more wearable

What a difference 3mm makes… at least that’s what she said.

Crafter Blue FKM rubber strap. The best for the money and it looks class with the Legend Diver. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

I am not a Longines fan TBH . I would instead buya Tudor 1926 if I had the choice
Hi is it possible to change the strap of Casio g shock gmb2100 ?
It should, yes
Finally watch sizing is going back to "classic/more vintage" sizing, even mighty Panerai offer a 38mm. The longines 39 is a cool watch.
The Panerai small Watch is for ladies whom struggle to wear the 42-44mm reg size but love the Panerai style. Cheers
I love ma legend diver
Don’t you think you exaggerated a bit at 2:14 with so many sprays….? Is not like those are Seiko divers!!!

39mm for me
Give me that over a Seiko any day I wouldn’t hesitate on that beautiful piece which is beautifully filmed flawlessly which is your trademark Sir.
Thank you very much! :)
Did someone say Seiko???
I would too if it were the same price LOL.
The lungs on the 42mm are way too long and look odd to me. 39mm looks far more proportioned
The 39mm is way small on wrist. Tried on yesterday. Made for girls.
The proportions of the 39 really don't sit well with me. The 42 is therefore the better watch.
