This watch is a visual masterpiece. That inky black dial is so captivating. The choice for minimal dial text shows awesome restraint given that this is a 300m WR, COSC certified watch. The beads of rice bracelet also matches perfectly.
Man, your editing and videography skills just keeps reaching new heights with each video! Absolutely fantastic review! Oh and I already adored the older Legend Diver but this 39mm upgrade just completely elevated the model for me.
It’s one of my favorite watches on the market irrespective of any price range. It’s beautiful and can be worn with a tuxedo or a sport coat to a nightclub restaurant for cocktails and live music. It’s downright glamorous yet it’s also a dive watch and it’s timeless.
Okay Mr.Brave. Since selling my 42 mm legend diver a few years ago 😢 I have been very sad. I am retired now, and looking for a watch to end it all.( watch buying that is). I have watched this review on the new 39 mm version many times and that is what I’m going to get in 2024. My bank account will curse you, but not me. Cheers🎉❤
hahah! It is a very nice watch and I wish you to get the wisest decision and enjoy it! :) btw, next year, potentially the prices will decrease a bit. Cheers!
I love Longines. Had an automatic Hydroconquest 41mm for many years, also own the 40mm Spirit. What they did in the past few years and recently, with the new Conquest 41mm for example, is just fantastic. It's really a step up in terms of overall finishing and attention to details. I always wanted the Legend Diver but it was just too big for me as well. On the 39mm size, case, dial, bracelet, all looks just so good, more refined and balanced. Great review, keep it up!
They’re my favourite brand, incredible style, history, affordability… Just wish they’d released more colours in this size. Love the beige colour in the other sizes. That said, I only want one dive watch, and if I’m only gonna have one I feel like it needs to be an external bezel one. Gotta have that clicky thing, just for fun! But if I was gonna get a second one, this’d be it…
@@VermiKelloYes but the overall fit and finish has also increased significantly.Take zulu time for example. Yes it is much more expensive than a regular longines however its finishing is freaking fantastic. İf the quality keeps rising ı am all for the price increases no problem .
@@burakcangur3407In addition, you don’t have to pay retail. I got 25% of my Zulu time and like you said the finishing made me feel like the purchase was a steal!
I see what you mean. This Longines Legend Diver 39mm could very easily be a one watch collection. As beautiful as it is, it concerns me that it would be easily scratched. If it were a tool watch I wouldn’t care, but this certainly is anything but a tool watch. Excellent video and review as always! 🥃
Thank you for this great review of and introduction to this lovely watch. It certainly looks amazing, and your opinion certainly boosts its status. Thank you for your time and efforts to share this with us all.
Thanks for the review and comparison to other models in the range - very helpful. This one is my next purchase and i'm currently looking for a nice deal.
A Legend Diver has been on and off my list for a while. Why? Well I was never a huge fan of the date. This new (old) rerelease has given me an itch that I might just scratch at some point. A great video very well presented so many thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much! I was looking for the first reissue, the dateless one. But it's pretty hard to find for a good deal. In exchance, this one came up just right :)
I can see why you like it, it isn't really my cup of tea, but I can't see anything to criticise. One odd thing is the oversized minute markers make it less legible somehow, I felt it looked easier to read in the dark.
Congratulations - wear it well! A fabulous release, Longines are releasing some great watches, but this really is special. A very successful reworking of the LD with proper diving ISO specs. And as you say, one of very few watches that can really 'do it all.'
I really enjoy your video, I own both the black and blue dial versions on bracelet, I couldn't decide on the colors but it I feel the black dial pops a bit more but honestly both are great divers. I put my on Tropical straps to match the dials respectfully and I'm happy with how they look. The blue arrived this past weekend as I had to special order it from my AD as he sold out a few pretty quick. Excellent size and design meeting ISO764 and ISO6425 plus Chronometer officially Certified "cased" you can't beat that, finally I do love the bracelet hitch I will put one back on but haven't decided yet.
I don’t understand why they haven’t made the Hydroconquest clasp standard across all models or at least release upgrades on new releases. This is an amazing watch with an amazing design but why not put a micro adjust clasp??
FC is amazing as well, I am a fan of the Highlife platform! They offers amazing value for the money. Thank you very much, have a great weekend as well! :)
Lovely! I think it's about time the Swatch group made some changes in the brand placement of it's brands. They're definitely testing Longines to be placed closer to Omega now.
This is truly a “Legend”. 39 mm is right on the sweet spot, I totally agree. I love that they didn’t add the date in this smaller version. 🙂👌🏼 By the way, at the time of viewing this review, you’re creeping up on 50K Subs!! Congratulations! 👏🏼😄
Awesome watch! I love that beads of rice bracelet. I really like Longines’ Spirit Zulu Time in 39mm…if it had been available when I got my BB58 last year, it may have been a consideration.
I bought the 36mm back in 2020 and honestly, while a little on the smaller side for my wrists (especially before it became cool) that could be the only watch I own. I haven't bought a high-end watch for myself since then (the King Seiko SPB383 and 369 my wife bought me don't count! 😂)
At some point I've been looking at the LLD in 36 because I was considering the 42 too wide on the wrist. UU! I wish I can receive such gifts! :D Cheers!
Absolutely beautiful watch, and the shots/video are superb. I do fell let down by Longines as I have the OG 42mm with Milanese strap, not the size as it wears just right on my wrist, but the lume was awful, it's like they never cared or thought about it.
Just when I thought the Tudor Black Bay 54 at 37mm was the next watch purchase, along came the Longines Legend Diver 39. Even prior to this release, the Legend Diver has this degree of refinement that truly makes it not just a proper dive watch, but one that can be used for any occasion. And at 39mm, finally a more suitable size for me. Thanks for this post (and all of your other videos). You hit the nail on the head with your review and you just may have convinced me to go ahead and buy my second Longines dive watch.😁
Same for me, I was thinking to put some side by side shots with my 54. they have a few similarities, both being smaller versions of bigger popular divers! :) Thank you very much! If you have the chance, try them both and then decide which one is the best for your wrist :)
@@BraveBeaters Funny - they are indeed smaller versions of their watch brethren. That's just the thing with the Legend Diver - it is a diver and then some. If I get the BB54, it will be "just like" my HydroConquest - both are unmistakably dive watches. The LD can pass for a dress watch IMHO. Its versatility is what's made me reconsider.
If you have not seen the BB54 in the flesh, you need to see it. What an absolute stunner. I bought one with no regrets. I like this new Longines, man it is absolutely knock out gorgeous and just imagine it on a leather calf skin! The only thing that puts me off is the superior functionality of the T-Fitz ease of using an external bezel and I know I'll find the black and white a little monotone, so the brass wins too.
You picked some great strap combo's nonetheless! Great close-ups on the dial. You could use the Legend Diver for size wear comparisons in the future. What a great buy man!
A great watch and congratulations on having it in your collection 👏 PS Next version, add lume on the inner bezel (numbers and dots)... so at this moment it's perfection for me.

GREAT video ... The watch is beautiful during the day, but I have one objection. I feel the luminous dials should be V - 15 - 30 - 45 and not just 24 hours. There's something wrong with the design that cancels it's own existance ... It's a legendary diver's watch after all.
Loose the internal bezel (looks disproportional anyway), crown at 3, date at 6 or no date, improve lume(d) numbers and you have a great field/sports watch.

Let it breathe in some moments, have the courage to step back at times. Anyway, I'm sure you'll figure it out over time. Always a pleasure to watch your videos!
its funny to think that they up their game since they move their bracelet production in china...
I think the cases as well. Technically all the Swatch group brands have factories in china now. the assembly and the QC being made in Switzerland.
