- When Bishop time-traveled to stop Senator Robert Kelly's assassination, Nimrod followed him and faced the X-Men. Nimrod proved to be a formidable enemy and even when it was destroyed, it began self-repairing before Bishop destroyed the device allowing it to remain in the present day.

What's interesting is how Chris Claremont made Nimrod a nuanced villain. He definitely would kill mutants like the X-Men, but he genuinely cared about the construction worker and his son who befriended him.
Storm was always one for dramatic lines, and I loved her for it!

Love this episode! Storms attack was due to in the future most of them including her had died. Nimrod wasn’t prepared since no “elemental” attack had been a threat to learn and adapt.
Also, I like the sound effect on storm activating her powers to rise into the air and her dodge of the energy beam after her lightning strike.
That music is her motif. They play it whenever she's about to let loose with her powers.
Thing is adaption or not, standing against the elements is tough because Storm don't just command one, she commands multiple and cold and lightening are two of the most deadliest elements and combined it's just unstoppable. Back then if they had comic today or a little prior you would see her completely disintegrate him with lightening alone, or use wind pressure to explode him from the inside. One Mans Worth episode, she defeated a Nimrod with just lightening alone and complete destroyed it with ease. Storm is that chick.

@@MichaelAChristian1 playing monopoly with the Xmen would be a blast Strom would be going hard. Wolverine would be freaking out about Gambit cheating him and everyone would be teaming up against cyclop, while Beast would be telling everyone the optimal strategy.

What I find strangely funny is that Storm defeating Nimrod being such a saving grace when in most of Nimrod's appearances in the comics was during the long three year period where Storm lost her powers. Nimrod was pretty undefeatable and able to teleport to safety before the X-Men could ever completely destroy him.
When Nimrod pushed them aside like it was nothing... you knew it* just got real.
Hands down one of the scariest threats ever faced on the show

I loved this show, because everyone was a threat. They were in over their heads in 90% of the episodes...loved that
It was even worse in the comics. The first time the thing showed up it basically handed the team their asses. It was only defeated after Rogue basically took all of the powers of the X-Men at the same time. She teleported its arm off with Nightcrawler's ability and then smashed it with her strength plus that of Colossus. And it just teleported away and regenerated.

This story line mostly reminded me of Terminator! I loved it cause these series of the X-men was awesome and I so enjoyed how storm handled up on his ass

Back when this show aired, I thought Storm was a magic user like Scarlet Witch because she recites a chant every single time she uses her weather manipulating powers.

Her foes usually refer to her as Weather Witch in the comics and here and there in some animated series. She has magical heritage aswell through her ancestors being Priestesses/Witches. In the alternate universe she uses magic as she gets older when her mutant powers start to wane. You should read the latest Scarlet Witch comics, her and storm have an adventure where she gets storm to taps into her magic. Pretty awesome

This is the original voice actress for Storm (Iona Morris) from Season 1 and she is the GOAT! Wish they kept her on for the whole series or even now for the reboot.
Yeah, Alison Sealy-Smith is extremely hammy.
Iona morris voiced all of season 1 and most of season 2 but it is nearly impossible to find the season 2 versions. If I could pay her to redub the rest of the series I wouldn't hesitate, she is THE voice of storm.

@@MHrrs78 OMG I’m so glad to find a likeminded fan about this! Most of them can’t even tell the difference (which I find so wild because it’s beyond obvious!). Same, the only way I have it is because I have it on VHS. They redubbed most of Season 2. I wish she didn’t live in LA so she could’ve remained on the show. Imagine how awesome Storm would’ve been in those later seasons, just like she was in Season 1. Instead she turned into a joke. Man, when I first heard the new version of Storm thing out Omega Red I nearly cried co it was so cringy and bad.
Yes I feel like they wrote storm's lines in later seasons to match Alison's style, and it isn't great. Iona's style was much more cultured and nuanced, subtle and graceful, even with dramatic and sometimes cheesy lines. Just a better delivery. Alison's is too over the top and dramatic, one-dimensional. I don't mean to throw shade at her, it just doesn't work.

I actually remember seeing a little bit of the scene where I first saw Nimrod in the animated series. I hadn't seen many if the show as a kid, but I do remember him appearing, because that name sounds very unique to me.

Man this was just the best. The art and design of the characters, the dialogue and powers. Nimrod slapped Wolvie in the mouth to shut him up lol. Few things though before Storm saved the day. Jean has telekinetic shield power and telekinesis, scanning a robot mind wouldn't have been Jeans typical only move. Cyclops is a beast with his optic blast and his movements. He would have blasted the ground under Nimrod and Wolvie would have jump into action slicing him while he was in mid air from Cyc's blast. Bishop too, who is just a expert at gun along with his mutant power. Ororo, could have definitely handle Nimrod alone but I think this was a moment for her Cyc and Bishop. I just hope the new series capture the same essence.

He can, they already fought in the comics and Nimrod was badly damaged by Apocalypse initial attack, but he adapted to counter it and defeat him. Thing with Nimrod is, you can't give it ANY time, either you disintegrate it in one hit or you're going to be fighting a more hardened version of him next.
