  • To get pregnant you need a period tracker app that will tell you when your fertile window is. Period Tracker Apps like Flo, Ovia, and Natural Cycles often "claim" to help us find our fertile window so sperm (intercourses) is in the right place at the right time (ovulation). Often these period tracker apps are wrong tho! I wish it were NOT true, but I tested and compered these 3 apps and they completely LIED about my fertile window during my 1st cycle. I’ll share in this video how you CAN use Flo, Ovia, and Natural Cycles apps to get pregnant quickly with a few easy tricks!

      I’ve been using natural cycles for some time now. This cycle, even after putting in a positive LH my fertile window changed by an entire week. Showing that I ovulated before my positive LH test which doesn’t make sense. My husband and I have gotten pregnant once using this app but we lost the baby very early on. So when this happened I found it very strange. I’m basing my ovulation off the positive LH rather than what the app says but now I’m very confused and frustrated.

    I have used flo , for quiet a while and my menstral cycle is spot on however the last two months haven't come on time due to hormonal imbalance but i have been using it for nearly two years and its been spot on so it depends on the individual i guess. I wouldn't say it lies.

    Flo app does in fact have a basal body temperature option as well as type of discharge. It gives you the option to put your ovulation test results as well as pregnancy test results. And it has 2 settings; 1. Period tracker and 2. Pregnancy tracker. I'm assuming the app has been greatly updated since this video was made.

    I can’t believe how off some of the apps were! Now I definitely know which one to pick when the time comes 😉

      Oh good! The interesting thing is that I could completely respect and understand the inaccuracy if they made it more clear what made each more accurate and made it clear that the first cycle will likely be very inaccurate. Hopefully this video saves some women some grief! Thanks for watching and commenting💜

    What ovulation strips do you recommend using?

  • @brittanypeasley

    This is super helpful! How many days past your ovulation day does your temperature typically rise? I assumed it was the day after but I'm guessing that's not accurate?

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 года назад

      You’re right, it rises 1-2 days after ovulation! Thats what natural cycles was waiting for before they could confirm ovulation, but it had to rise “significantly” which it didn’t do until 3 days after so I think they will be quite accurate for my next cycle. Did that answer your question?

    I think maybe nfp with old pen and paper might be best :p that way you track temperature, mucus etc so it's just a habit. I do it not to avoid or get pregnant but my cycle gets strange when I am stressed, drink to much coffee etc so I like knowing early when my body needs more rest. Sadly doctors here are really against it so when I have noticed a thing that's unusual / wrong i can't tell them and ask for help. :(

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 года назад

      If paper and pen helps you be consistent, I think it's a great idea! I agree that tracking how your body works when it's well definitely helps identify when things aren't going quite so well! Nobody knows your body better than you! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

    Verry happy NOT to be pregnant! using natural cycles has been awesome as my birth control method! but yes if you are a heavy drinker you definitely don't want to use it because drinking alters your bbt! i get at least 3-4consistent hours of sleep every night so my readings are accurate :)

      I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such a long, hard fertility journey! That is heartbreaking-I have several close friends in similar situations! Beyond tracking fertile windows with a reliable app that doesn't rely solely on algorithms, often improving gut health, balancing hormones, and finding ways to reduce stress can be helpful. If you haven't already looked into these things, I would be happy to share some online resources with you that I've found and trust. Praying for you on your fertility journey-it can be so difficult to be on :(

    I'm pretty sure you can put basal body temp in Flo.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  2 года назад

      hmm interesting, I couldn't find a place to input it, but maybe I missed it. Or maybe they've updated the app since I used it. I wonder if they take temperature into consideration when calculating your day of ovulation if you input it? Thanks for the comment

    • @rebeccamarchant3330
      @rebeccamarchant3330 2 года назад +2

      Yes, if you go onto the calendar and click on a day, click add symptoms and scroll to the bottom, click add parameters and there are so many more options you can add such a bbt and mucous.

    • @DoctorNicole
      @DoctorNicole  8 месяцев назад

      I have found that tracking my mucus and temperature were the most accurate ways to pinpoint ovulation-these tools can only work well when we know our bodies we’ll and can input information accurately into them. Going off the 14 day guess alone definitely isn’t very accurate!
