  • Today I wanted to chat about how if you're looking to chart your cycle as birth control you should learn a method such as the sympto-thermal method before relying on a device or an app. And definitely not a period or an ovulation tracker.

I just found your channel while searching for the pros and cons of stopping birth control. I've been taking the pill for almost 10 years and I am shocked that it took me this long to even consider an alternative... Im terrified that I've totally messed up my body!! Time to do some more research!

Very interesting! I do use natural cycles but I am so strict with it and take caution and I must say so far it has been great been about a year and a half
But I am very interested about what you say! :) I love this method because I love being so in tune with my body ❤️

Love love love this kind of videos! What you're doing is amazing and I'm sure is helping a lot of women, that like myself, are suffering because hormonal birth control methods. For the last 3 months, I've been suffering so many side effects by using the nuva ring. I really want to quit. By now your videos have been my inspiration to do so. I'll start to read the book Taking Charge of your Fertility to make sure I do everything right and I choose the method that really fits me best. Thank you for all the support

You’re going to laugh at me... I use period diary for tracking my cycle. But, I honestly just track my cervical mucous. My cycle I pretty regular so it’s not that hard. Also, we use withdrawal which people kinda roll their eyes about. But, it does work. I’ve been off the pill and using this method for 2 and a half years and it works! ( or I’m just not fertile) but either way it does work.

I’m so glad I found your videos. I’m very interested in this. I’m currently on the pill and I’d like to be able to get off of medication. I am deathly afraid of getting pregnant so it might take me a while to commit to a different means of birth control. I look forward to learning more from you

Great video. I use the Natural Cycles app, take my temperature every morning and use the LH strips... that should be okay? What are your thoughts on that?

So I think I'm missing the point. If you learn charting, why get Daysy or Natural Cycles?

Kimberly Ocampo I think the app is good for organizing purposes (record keeping), but it's best to fully understand how the method works foundationally instead of relying on technology100%.

Some people like having something to help them chart beyond just themselves. It gives them more confidence and security.

Hi Victoria! I love this video. I've been watching your channel since last month when I started using FAM by the first time, so far I'm loving this method.
However, tracking this cycle (my 2nd cycle charting) has been a little bit more complicated than expected.
At the end of my last cycle I traveled to Mexico, I had very little sleep to none, and by the time that I started my new cycle I got sick with a cold so I used theraflu for a couple of days.
Now I'm supposed to be at the middle of my cycle or so, but I have not had any cervical fluid AT ALL, and I'm so confused because of how dry I am.
Do you think it could be related my trip, the stress, lack of sleep or the cold?
I keep charting my temp and I'm hoping I'm gonna start having some fluid soon, I'm TTA so I want to make sure when I'm safe and past my ovulation (in case my temp does not increase if I don't ovulate).
Any ideas or suggestions? Could my ovulation be delayed or an anovulatory cycle.?
    Thanks in advance !!!

Hi Victoria, I’m your opinion is it worthy to charter the menstrual cycle with an IUD? Thank you

Should I make the plunge and get a basal thermometer?
I want to stop the pill due to side effects, and no other birth control interests me. Im just nervous because I've been using the pill for 7 years idk what my cycles are like without it.

I just started using Daysy and I'm really enjoying it so far. I do have a concern however, as I am taking a few supplements for hormonal balance as well as Spironolactone for acne (for about a year now) and I'm wondering if that will affect my Daysy temp readings.. Any thoughts? Much appreciate any feedback 😊

buy the book 'taking charge of your fertility' it explains how to do fam. Its an amazing book, even if you don't want to chart for birth control or chart at all because it has great info on the female anatomy.

Hey! I don't have a video on it actually. I've talked before on why I don't "teach" it on RUclips. I do have a course for those new to FAM that gives you a thorough foundation to get you started: femmehead.com/chart-your-cycle
