Totally missed the mark yesterday, but looking forward to drooling over more demos now that it's sold out! I love how you went over this: the wet and dry knobs, and the freeze function, look like especially good editions. Well done.

it probably was gone before it asked to to update your password. i went through paypal (on both cooper's site and little box effects), and by the time it returned, it was gone. :(
@@familyvoid don't worry about it. it's just a pedal. an awesome one, and one i've wanted for several years at this point, but they'll be back in stock again.
@@Darel13712 you’re trying to snag Electrofoods? No problem, you can Facebook message them for a custom order. He’ll hook you up, anyway you like it: clickless switches, enclosure color, knobs, art!
The big knob in the middle of the first one was so cool though. Oh well. Here's hoping I can catch one of these fresh one of these days. I wish I could find v1 for a decent price. I got the Arcades with the gen loss card so maybe that should be all I need but man a stand alone gen loss would be so nice. I dont ever know what knobs I turn are cause my eyes suck and every program is different. I can get some good sounds from the arcades though. I dont know if a standalone gen loss does stuff I can't get on the cards or what but you can do alot with cards. Between the Gen Loss card and the Lofi one, it's really impressive how many staticy filters you can impart on your sound and them all feeling very unique to themselves. It's surprising how much different breakup and static can be. The Wow and fluttery combos sound completely different in character to the Vinyl mode which sounds completely different the Radio one breaking up, or the CD skip mode, or the VHS mode. Its just compelling how many different kinds of "losing a signal" static breakup there is and cooper fx does them so well.

Just grabbed this pedal on the restock today. Will this pedal take things further than the arcades gen loss card? What differences would you say there outside of the arcades being a multi fx
It's pretty similar to the Gen Loss card! When he said he reinvented the mod, I believe he was talking about the changes from the V1 Gen Loss which are pretty big. The big difference being this pedal has two of the processing chips so you get all the controls as opposed to the combo programs on the Arcade.
There's some crossover! Basically this does more, and it does all of the controls at once. The Gen Loss card is limited to half of the processing chips, which is why it has those combo programs
Sounds pretty similar to me. I have had the CB one and have an original 1st edition as well as Arcades and this one sounds closer to Arcades than the other 2. I liked the CB one the least.
@@AndyAcker The OG generation loss! So degraded and warm. By far. I made this with it on the output of a Digitone Keys + field recordings. ruclips.net/video/xQ8jRXdDZbI/видео.html
The Arcades card can only do half as much at once (because it has one of the digital processing chip instead of two), but I love it! Maybe worth waiting for one of these if you'd only get the Gen Loss card and not others, but there's a lot of cool stuff on the other Arcades cards too. And IMO this has the warmth Darren is talking about. Like the character of the V1 and the features of the CBA. Arcades is probably more open and clean, like the CBA

The degree to which this pedal is hyped is highly ironic and just not good. It's not good for music. The pedal might be good for music, but not hype or consumerism, which are antithetical to (my) creativity. (I was bummed that I missed out). However, I'm glad I missed out as the circumstances of this release gave me serious occasion to pause and think about these luxury items that, ultimately, don't make me better at my instrument. There are five available at a dealer for 500$. The dealer knows customers will pay this, because Tom has released so few. The irony is that this pedal simulates a more tangible and simple medium for producing and experiencing art-before spin chips, dsp and gear demos. Just let your guitar strings get old and become more articulate with your instrument. I have yet to encounter such an obvious pact between builders and dealers to not just account for price-gouging but to almost encourage it for the sake of hype. God bless Tom and all the brilliant minds who push gear forward, but fuck this hype. Beautiful playing in this demo as usual. And, damn, those AUX modes are delicious. Maybe assuming a great deal about the builder's/dealer's intentions, but all this makes me want to hold onto the pedals that can't do half these functions. If the goal is to sound old, stop buying new things. (Edit, Tom denounced the dealer-good on 'im).
"If the goal is to sound old, stop buying new things." This should be a t-shirt, well said. But we need to all admit that they're toys.
