  • Which microphone sounds better? The tried and true Shure SM7B or the new Shure MV7+ ??
I put them head to head with no processing. I think the new kid does a great job!
    Shure SM7B (on sale!) $359 - amzn.to/3QEgw9f
    Shure MV7+ $279 - amzn.to/3JXpb2J

Honeslty, i can't even tell the difference. Both sound great and the same to me. Inhave the original mv7. Is the + worth the upgrade?

I have been struggling between these 2 mics in particular. I want a good mic for podcast videos and I already have 2 very nice condenser mics from Universal Audio. So I don't need the SM7B for recording high quality instruments and pro singers. I think I am going to get the MV7+. Thanks.

Hello! Thanks for the note. I think you are choosing wisely. I am really impressed with the MV7+. Thinking about getting another one for a second podcast set up. Love that it can go XLR and USB C. Hope it treats you well too!

Have you noticed any big differences from the sound when going between xlr or USB C?

Thank you for the video. Which Interface you would recommend for the MV7+?

Very welcome! Thanks for checking it out. Honestly, I am happy with just using the USB C into the computer. I have been doing that for the last few months (for our podcast and meetings with outdoor companies) and it has sounded amazing. But if you wanted to use an interface (perhaps you are doing more than one mic) I have had good luck with the Tascam as well as the Rodecaster Pro. I would love to test out the newest Rodecaster. I tried the Mackie and wound up sending it back.Hope that helps!

@@Engearment Thank you for the quick and detailed reply. Honestly, this would be my first microphone that I use more for podcasts and YT videos 😁
My next question would be whether it is even necessary to connect the MV7+ via an interface. If you say that you are very happy with it via USB, I will do the same for now. So there are no major differences?

@@klingklangklong1719 Fantastic! I am excited for you :)
No, you do not need an interface at all. If it is just you and 1 mic, I would save your hard earned money and just use the MV7+ into your computer via USB C. It is so good.
I wish you much success and joy in your endeavors!
