Really? I think he could've chosen such a better VP. But then again, I don't really believe that Obama was solely responsible for choosing Biden. I met the 2007 Joe Biden, when on a late night flight across the USA, he sat opposite me on the plane. He was a relatively unknown senator back then. But I knew him, as I knew he ran in '88. He worked the entire flight; I was so close I could see it was about SUDAN, which was a major human rights issue back then. When we disembarked, Joe was standing at the top of the ramp by himself, waiting for his aides to get off, so I walked up to him and extended my hand and said (knowing that you never stop wanting to be president if you ran in the past), "HELLO, MR PRESIDENT". You should have seen the smile that came across his face! He was so happy with that greeting. Now it feels prophetic.
I feel sad for the Joe Biden I see today. I wish he would just retire gracefully.
