- In this video, we walk through one of my favorite races of all time, the crazy 2004 Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200. This NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race had it all, great battles, a great finish, an unpredictable winner, and insane crashes. I hope you all enjoy!

Kenny Wallace’s commentary for this race was great.
Agreed
It would be amazing if Fox hired him to replace Gordon
@@jakebkilgore2086 🤮
@@jakebkilgore2086 that happened for gateway for the cup series
I love Kenny Wallace after hearing this 8:05
Kenny Wallace's commentary was superb
Kenny should be on NBC or even Fox because they need all the help they can get...lol
@@bryonkidder6199 People already complain Burton and Jr are too high pitched. We don’t need another one. Besides I think Kenny is happy dirt racing
@@joshjarnagin3161 they ain't got nobody at Fox...lol
Miss him....
@@bryonkidder6199 Kenny has been there and done that with tv. I don’t think he wants to go back
After seeing David Starr’s adventures in the 66 car in 2021, it’s easy to forget that he actually won races and had decent success with Spears Motorsports.
6:27 "he broke"
Fantastic commentary by Rick Allen
2004 was such a good year for this series.
This was the first truck race I remember. I was hooked for life. Stayed up till 2:00 in the morning that night
Thanks for showcasing this race, it's a gem
I remember this race. I was rooting for Bobby Hamilton for the Champion that season. This race was a crazy race in my book.
RIP Bobby Hamilton
Rick Allen 2004:problems
Rick Allen 2021:PROBLEMS
3:36 “ This race is setting up to be a thriller in minilla
That was the only season when Matt Crafton did not drove the 88 Truck.
I remember meeting Kenny at this race as a kid! Good times.
He's a very down to earth guy I've met him a few times over the years at slinger speedway at the nationals guys like him Kenny Schrader, dick trickle, rich bickle, the Sauter clan, Kenseth, Menard ect
What a bizarre truck race that was in 2004. Loved hearing Kenny Wallace as a commentator while he was racing in the Junior Series later on. Plus, the 1st ever overtime finish where it had multiple attempts of a G-W-C finish too.
This one of the first Truck races I ever watched, and I was enthralled by the entire thing.
Same! I remember staying up watching this race when I was a kid. One of my first memories watching NASCAR
@@cody95 Also made me wanna go see a race at Gateway, a feeling that hasn't waned to this day due to the track being so close to home.
I remember watching this at my Grandparents house as a kid. My parents said we were leaving when the race was over... 😅
Kenny Wallace was enjoyable it seemed like from memory as a color commentator. Really sound and posed the right questions.
This is top 3 for my favorite Truck Series races. It's right up there with the 2003 championship race and the 2005 Daytona race.
This was a race that put multiple green-white-checkers to the test.
I forgot how epic SPEED's truck series intro was!
8:05 This is a RUclipsr reacton, not an announcer reaction. Good job, guys.
Hola, soy de Perú y me encantan mucho tus videos, espero que me puedas saludar, no me pierdo ningún video tuyo, son geniales, detallados y muy completos, suerte :)
Aprecio el apoyo, ¡me alegra que te gusten los videos!

Kenny Wallace needs to be a commentator for the cup series.
You sound so familiar and I was struggling to figure out why but I finally got it: Summoning Salt.
This was long before David Starr became a laughingstock in the other series.
Excellent stuff. What a crazy race. Truck Series is the best.👍
That intro brought back so many memories
Rick Crawford sliding down the backstretch brings back memories lol
I love the vids bro keep up the good work
My favorite truck race. Great race, great finish, and Starr was my favorite driver. My other was Shane Hmiel, which sucked to see him crash.
This race made me despise Hmiel. For him to wall Hamilton - a respected veteran - like that was awful. A real amateur-hour moronic move.
@@BumpPumper he’s also a racist asshole on twitter
@@ben.b2595 How is hating that asshole Bubba racist in and of itself? Oh yeah, you're only allowed to hate white guys according to those who follow your logic.
@@dibslin2.081 saying bubba has black privilege and saying that’s why he has rides is racist, if you haven’t figured that out yet
I remember watching this one on TV. It was a good one!!
Can't believe I didn't know about this race. Thanks 👍
Such a surreal race
I remember watching this race at my grandma's house when I was a little kid. Lots of nostalgia
OMG! I've remember I've watched that race when I was at least 7 or 8 years old.
Why did Kenny Wallace keep yelling super close to the mic 🤣
That’s who we need in the booth these days… Kenny Wallace.. can you imagine Kenny Wallace & Clint Bowyer in the booth? Jack Sprague was always my dude in the trucks.
Huh. Just as I'm playing Gateway in IndyCar Series 2005, this appears in my recommended.
Eww Rick Crawford.
It's because of him I make the note that Andy Houston unknowingly became an American hero after this race.
The green white checkered rule would later be one attempt, but eventually they reinstated the unlimited restarts until the leader takes the white flag part of the rule.
What a chaotic race
I really like your videos but man I'm always thinking that that small "JJ" are legs in your avatar :D
Driving: Rusty > Kenny
Broadcasting: Kenny >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rusty
A potato > Rusty
I was at this race. Nobody knew what was going on with the rules. We were just sitting there waiting for the PA announcer to tell us what happens next
This is when the truck series was at its absolute best. The young guys had to cut their teeth battling grizzled old cup series vets like Hamilton, Musgrave, Benson, Skinner, etc. RIP Bobby.
I like the green white checkered unlimited
Hey NFJJ Can you do the 2005 coca cola 600 at Charlotte
I have a video suggestion- NASCAR stuck throttle crashes.
Where's the link for the race?... Grew up going to this track and missed out on this one (I regret not being able to go to this race)
These nr2003 graphics are great
Ah yes, David Starr before he became a meme. Oh and there goes Rick and his PRAWBLEMS again.
Something tells me this being uploaded now is foreshadowing for the first Cup race here next season...
Gateway is a great track that needs Indy cars, trucks, Xfinity, and Cup cars racing at that track! It's always a great show!
Whatever happened to Bobby Hamilton Jr.? I haven't heard his name mentioned in years, seems like he just disappeared. I hope he's doing good...
Starr is a panty waist now and was a panty waist then too...lmao!
All i know is he did a arca race some years ago
Bobby Jr. tried other racing endeavors after his last noted racing start in ARCA. The person who owned his car had actually scammed him & a few others, where the scammer actually had blamed him.
After that he owned a racetrack somewhere in Tennessee I believe & was doing decently, until a team who was disqualified from a race one night had threatened violence against Bobby Jr., to which he defended himself. The track later on shut down due to funding issues.
After that he hasn't been around much. It's believed he does some iRacing, but I haven't exactly verified that.
I do kind of worry about him because I'm honestly not convinced he has ever gotten over the death of his Dad, & racing was his connection to him & thus why he tried staying in the sport to some capacity. But after the scam & then the violence scare, I feel like he has some bitterness towards actual racing & thus him (allegedly) being now in iRacing.
Gateway is on Cup schedule finally....awesome track. Like if Martinsville and Darlington had a baby.
Mam, leader of the safety crew was probably "just stay ready guys, they'll dick it up again." And then bam, Crawford's wreck. Lmao
I’m only now hearing of this race, and I wanted Chaffin to win SO bad
Because he forgot to put the link to the race, here it is. ruclips.net/video/umFIbM69by4/видео.html
Didn't realize they were having to shift on the straights
David Starr Should Go Back to Trucks
Have you done a video on the first ever Busch race at Gateway? Definitely a wreck fest and I'm surprised that nascar ever came back. The track was falling apart the entire race
me trying to win the race on nascar games on the last laps
2004....Sprague in the #16? I thought he was still in the #24 at this stage....
His last season in the 24 was 2001, didn’t race in 2002, only ran 2 races in 2003 in the #11, then started running the #16 full time in 2004. Didn’t know that myself until I did this video!
@@nascarfan4888JJ yeah that's interesting, i always think of him even nowadays watching trucks. My Nascar knowledge is good from 1996 to 2002 but then i backed off due to the deaths, honestly. Been finding myself watching just about every race now that its all available, back then it was a special occasion if i could watch a Busch Series race lol
Shame on the mess
Believe it or not, I was 1 year old when this race took place
Gragsons fans mad rn
Huh
@@1888Wyatt David Starr won
Good. Gragson has bust written all over him if he ever moves up to Cup.
Good old days 🇺🇸
And nobody wants to see a race end under caution either
a
Yo
If y'all love Kenny Wallace's commentary you should see his Snapchat lmao
Back when David Starr was likable and didn't ruin everyone's races.
2 examples: Gragson 2021 (by not going to the apron with a tire going down) and Tommy Joe Martins (by staying in front of him at the end of the stage)
Also Kenny's commentary was AMAZING!
Nothing bizarre at all.
The Finish Of This Race Is So BAD , It Makes The 2021 Knoxville Truck Race Finish Look Superb (Also its not like the 1 GWC rule caused a lot of OUTRAGE)
