@@LeSadSlime that’d be cool
Is this work in bedrock, haven’t watched yet
@@user-kj8go2wo8fsince it's on the nether roof, nope.
Quick side note: if you wear boots with the Frost Walker enchant, you will not take damage from magma blocks.
You can also sneak
@@Kid25 True. Much faster if you walk though unless you have the swift sneak enchant from an ancient city. Excellent enchant for quick building.
True, but that’s hard for early game players
Thank you for this! I did not know about that frost walker became a little more valuable to me now!
@@Kid25jokes on you i spawned on a hollow mountain with 3 ancient cities right below me
side note: If you place carpets over the hoppers the little piglins can't get through, and the xp won't get stuck in the hoppers
Also works with trapdoors :)
just make sure you don't accidentally break the carpet while swinging your sword... Don't ask how i know
I did that and now xp orbs can't squeeze between carpet and the slab, any advice?🙂
@@vasyasharko3224 remove the slab that Is at the same height as the carpet,
if you have a block or a lower half slab above the carpet it doesn't count as a full block because of the carpet and the small mobs can't get though as they require a full block of space
this looks great, I've been wanting a design this simple that would be good for xp as well. I'll definitely build it
Fun fact: You can replace the platform with netherite blocks to triple the loot and double the spawnrate. It also makes it so all zombified piglins give gold ingots every time

This is like the minecraft equivalent of elite: dangerous players sending new guys to Hutton Orbital for the free Anaconda
@@drummer2443don't forget David Braben also shows up at your house to give you the Hutton Orbital coffee cup
Works like a charm. I slightly modified it by adding a larger platform for them to land on, and also reduced the size of the 2nd and 3rd layers by 1/4 each. Added an autosorter that auto-smelts the swords for more nuggets. Love your tutorials.
How you did the auto sorter? Want to smelt the sword automatic too
@@FelipeXFelipeX If you just add a sorter for every item that *isn't* a sword (since iirc you can't sort for non stackables specifically) then all that will be left over is swords which can go into a furnace array
wow, this is really helpful! i'm glad you showed how to get some of the less common/harder to get materials
Just built this:
the number of trapdoors is short by 4,
but everything else worked as expected.
Good tutorial overall
wish id seen this earlier, just now realizing the number is a bit short. whoops
the glass XD
Literally was looking for this comment 😅 I knew I wasn't crazy
bro the glass 😭😭
How many layers do you recommend?
After watching a few playlist of your Minecraft survivals I have decided to finally buy a copy of Minecraft again. Haven’t played since 2013 so I’m excited for all the new items!
AYYYYY omg!!
@@wattlesplays It's similar for me... except I HAD to get another Minecraft account because the email used by my previous account (it was my brother's account he made over a decade ago) is unreachable now... my new account is linked to my own email now and so HOPEFULLY I don't lose it again
in other news; I just finished building this farm and it is amazing! Outside of the ridiculously large quantity of Gold Swords lol
Great farm, works well :) Thanks
Wattles, do you ever think you'll do a wither skeleton farm?
Ian's farm is good but your tutorials are probably the best and easiest to follow on all of youtube.
What do you need a with skeleton farm for? With looting 3 and a fortress you can easily get 3 skulls for your beacon and there’s no real use for skulls unless you want more beacons. To get all the effects you need like 5 beacons so I’m just curious how it’s useful
@@Prometheus770 I once ran around killing wither skellies for 2 hours and got 1 skull.. and yes I had looting 3.
The problem is to make a wither farm is you need wither roses which only spawn from withers so if you need skulls you still first have to get 3 to even start making any type of farm.
Actually, there're wither skeleton farms without wither rose and believe it or not my goal for building one was for coal
@@Prometheus770 well some people like me want loads of beacons for stuff like mining, creating speed highways and of course flexing
Also wither skeletons drops loads of coal and bone which gives you far more fuel and bonemeal than most people will ever need
Great design works really well! Thanks
For the slab cover, you can use lines of slabs spaced out by 4 blocks, and it'll still stop ghasts from spawning
Yoo ty so much
What do u mean by "using lines of slabs spaced out by 4 blocks"?
@@s0up154 the top layer don’t need to be all covered up if you trying save blocks or save time block placing. Since Ghast needed 5x5 space to spawn, a strip of slabs spaced 4 apart can still prevent Ghast from spawning.
this is so good i love this farm you a beast wattles
I wish you'd create a part 2 on these videos for a proper and adequate storage for the drops. I always stuggle with that part and always having to try to figure it out as i have tons of drops coming in.
Your farms are very useful, I can't wait to play Minecraft and make all of them. However I would like an "Ender pearl farm" or "Chorus Fruit farm" tutorial next, if possible OFC...
If you've progressed alot in the game, the xp farm in the end dimension is also an ender pearl farm
why tf did you put them in quotation marks
@@leonxrdo6561 I dont even know why...
@@gabi0690 that's crazy...
This was so helpful it's insane
@wattleplays I think you can just space the slabs out by 2 or 3 spaces and put them in columns. The ghasts needs 4 blocks to spawn in
Also a pretty useful tip: get swift sneak before you do this, its going to save a lot of time. Also go in settings -> options -> controls and turn sneak from hold to toggle, probably will save your pinky from breaking.
Also bring some spare blocks you do NOT want to go all the way down to the bottom just to pick up a single magma block
Happend to me i did bring more magama but it all fell down.
amazing farm and works really well!
My man Wattles does it again! Farm works great!!! Now I need a piglin trading farm for all this gold!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I really needed this to get a beacon quickly in a hardcore Zombie Apocalypse modpack with both Hordes and Fungal Infection: Spore as the two threats to the world. My only problems are that baby Zombie Pigmen can be a little tricky to get rid of and that some of my hoppers are not picking up the drops and putting them into the chest. This causes some lag, and I miss out on some Gold, Rotten Meat (which is useful for trading), and occasional Backpack (Sophisticated Backpacks mod is in this modpack.)
I just built this. Nice design Wattles. My problem though is the pigs won't get aggrevated and walk the line toward me (doesn't matter how many times I hit them with arrows)
TIP: Go to Options > Controls and set 'Sneak: Toggle' (instead of 'Sneak: Hold')
No more magma-induced hand cramps :)
Frost Walker boots also negate magma or campfire damage. I've used your very good tip for building up in the air, though.
There is a sneak toggle option? I tried looking in forums but people said it was not possible. Damn!
If you like AFK farming, you can place powder snow onto the hoppers then just wait. They die slower but you don't have to move a finger for that (however no enchantment on snow) but you can get your pocket full of gold without doing anything.
IS THIS FOR JAVA?
@@cheapickleclips Yes. You still had to anger the ones sitting in the boat, and then wait.. The powder snow kills them and the hoppers get the gold. You even get the XP. Of course it is faster to use a sword instead of snow, but if you have the time to afk (or don't have the time to play, depends on how you view it), then you can try this.
@@cheapickleclips But I'm sure it works in bedrock too, I don't play that version but I don't know any snow related differences between them.
You can use wither flowers too
BRO I was thinking of a way to do this to an automatic farm and this saves me lol thanks
This might be a little extra but you could also get a chicken up there and have him trapped on a hopper pointed into a chest. The chicken will lay eggs and give you an easy throwable to aggro the pigmen.
Wouldn't the chicken die from the magma blocks before it can reach the killing platform?
@@Daralexen wdym? I was talking about having a chicken in your safe area where you kill the pigmen. Because throwing eggs at them will still aggro the pigmen. No where are magma blocks involved for this lol.
thanks worked for me!
I like how some farms are easier to build depending on which edition of the game you play. If I played java regularly I most likely would never build a gold farm or guardian farm but would go crazy with an iron farm or raid farm.
Depends on how many platforms you make, the lowest one they might survive, but anything higher then that and they probably wont. and you want them to survive because they wont drop gold if you dont kill them by hand.
for the guardian farm, you just have to find one that doesn't drain the ocean. A little slower, but still great for single player or a small server
Such an efficient build. Great improvement from your previous one! Thanks a lot, wattles! Liked + commented to feed the algo
thank you so much!!
amazing as always
Great instructions! Only thing I would add is if you could say how many scaffolding we should bring and mention that we should bring sand. This makes it so we dont have to go back and forth
I definitely needed a good bit more magma blocks, slabs, and glass. But all in all, a good farm and good video.
I really look forward to your videos 🥰
Yooo thank so much this works so well!
ayyy youre welcome!
Farms working thanks!
Very helpful thx
Wattles, Have you tested the rates when you make the spawning platform 3-5 blocks further out? it should provide a nice boost in rates for the farm do to spawning mechanics?
1.20 slime farm please😁
love your farms always give amazing rates
great farm it works super well👍
Um for 1.20 i have a few farm suggestions one is an automated crop farm for wheat potatoes carrots and even beetroot too another one would be an updated villager breeder farm tutorial as well i saw I would also like to see a blaze spawner farm tutorial as well as a wither skeleton farm um another farm too would be an enderman farm!
Hey Wattles,
Do you prefer this or the other gold farm you've made (circle one). I'm just making the circle one (yes, right now) and this video threw me into a dilemma :D
honestly i am going to probably ditch the old one! it looks cool but its just a lot of blocks tbh. it still works tho! this new one is just way cheaper and has great rates
I've made the old one before, I prefer how it looks a lot more but its honestly up to preference
Omg. I didn't know you could avoid damage by crouching on magma blocks! Thanks for the tip! ;O Also, great fun farm. I'm so gonna build this,
also frost walker negates magma block damage!
thank you mate
it's actually much better to make a smite V sword on it over a sharpness V one just for this farm specifically or any other undead mob farm you'd want to build in the future. also, don't forget looting 3
This farm drops the mobs for fall dmg so you don’t need to care about smite vs sharpness
they get to a point where a basic sword can one shot them, with sweeping edge 3 it makes it even better. Smite is useless against this and do yourself a favor and use sharpness instead.
Wattles I did 6 layers for the farm where should I put the killing platform?
This works so well
Always good to be a "crafty" minecrafter
Recently built this in 1.20.4, make sure to remove the blocks the eggs are sitting on, I didn't and wasn't getting much, after taking them out the piglins were swarming in!
Not sure if this has been said already but rather than capturing a piglin you can just put another egg behind you and they will run towards you
Is adding platforms worth it or will mob cap prevent it from being more lucrative?
Hey wattles, love your content. is there a world download for this available?
Nice and simple, I love it. Don't worry about the Bedrock peeps, they have insanely easy overworld gold farms that have rates out the ying-yang,
you should do a video on what NVidia settings you use in the control panel because Minecraft have a lot of jagged edges happening and its noticeable in my RUclips videos
Can you make more than 3 layers and if you do how many blocks do you need to put the platform down to use it
Works great
Make sure to check the biome you're building this in before you start, the piglins won't spawn in soul sand valleys
just built this in the soul sand valley and want to cry now
I've just built it in the basalt deltas :/
@@christophvonderoelsnitz8465 oof
On the roof is the easy way :) Make a perimeter in the nether! Put glass between the bedrock holes and enclosure the whole thing with glass blocks too. Build your gold farm and the rates are super!
Nonspawnable blocks are transparent blocks for those that don't know. Leaves, slabs, or glass can work.
Iirc
of course! turtle eggs are how to make this kind of gold farm on bedrock (as opposed to using a portal) - true that it's a lot harder to set up anyway, and the portal farms are actually pretty simple, but lighting and reigniting the portal to take advantage of the spawning mechanics feels cheaty to me.
the problem with making a gold farm without portals on bedrock is that the radius of zombified piglins alerting others that you're attacking them is a lot smaller on bedrock, so your other design with the rings doesn't work. i forgot about turtle eggs to get them closer!
Definitely gonna try this as it doubles as xp farm.
What’s the approximate rate per hour of gold ingots from this farm?
ehck. thank you for this.
unfortunately mine is already built a lot more like a regular mob farm but i can make it work the same.
How big is the aggro range of the turtle egg? 10blocks?
Could you add more layers of magma below the farm to increase spawning?
Hey wattles hope you doing well so that iron farm I built from your tutorial are the villagers safe from raids?
it should be. i mean its literally untouchable if its 10-20 blocks above ground
yes, other than vexes tho
@@wattlesplays oh damn haven’t thought of that
@@luffyandgokuskits didn't know vexes go after villagers too
@@dansara5933they do but often ignore them cause they often focus you instead since you aggrow them
If you are on bedrock edition you might as well make a portal ticking gold farm ( prowl Minecraft farms is a good example )
Any chance you have decent design plans for a bedrock gold farm?
works well good farm
Could you use stalagmite dripstones to increase damage when they fall down to the killing platform?
You could, but that's not a great idea, you'll probably kill them
im pretty sure he meant that@@falldamage8405
can i put an anvil and a crafting table at my farms safe area? or will that cause ghasts to spawn?
very nice farm
can we extend out the platform for even more efficiency? or will it ruin the farm
This works, i've only build 1 layer yet. i'm gonna have to gather materials in an SMP
Needs a few tweaks to stop babies and when there are a bunch of ZP's on the platforms, they will jump off of the sides to get to you, landing on the protection wall and coming down on you. So, a few extra blocks here and there.
Definitely need to setup a sorting system LOL.
What is the best render distance for this farm ?
i made the gold farm (with 3 layers) and the rates arent super high about 6 gold blocks in 15 minutes (about 25 gold plocks per hour) tho if you use a looting 3 sword its about 25 gold plocks per 15 minutes (100 gold blocks per hour) wich if you want gold is the bare minimum but for xp its a good farm since after 45 minutes i reached level 80 and it was very easy to build but i wouldent recommend building it in the beginner stages it will probably give a good amount of gold when you build 7+ layers and 3 of these farms next to each other but if your not in the end stage of the game i would recommend to build a different farm
Do a video on how to make far away blocks in Minecraft look better onmena like no jagged edges and how to turn ok antialiasing do you use it etc.
YESS!! BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VERY EXCITED TO BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO WATCH THISS
🫡
nice design Wattles it works great. I made this about a week ago and am now sitting on 9 stacks of blocks, way more gold than I've ever had.
I'm having 1 problem: the piglins at the far end don't agro when i shoot an arrow at them as they clearly do for you (I'm Java 1.20.4). So instead, i wack the guy in the boat which works, but eventually he dies and i have to replace him. Wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Also, items sometimes get stuck on the hoppers with or without carpet covers and i don't know how to prevent this; i placed ladders so i can quickly jump down, retrieve and get back up to safety.
Also, Wattles how are you rowing your boat over the hoppers? With or without carpets i can't do this.
Quick little note: if you build up a couple blocks with scaffolding and make a little afk room the spawns increase
If I wanted to add more layers, would I simply build the additional layers below the top 3, shifting the bottom platform down as well?
i would leave the platform where its at (so the zombies from the top dont fall and rip) and just add more layers in beneath the 3rd one!
hey wattles, i know im a little late but i wondered if i could build more platforms for piglins to spawn on in this farm. would it work?
I see no reason why it would not work.
Great tutorial on building the gold farm! Your step-by-step instructions were clear and easy to follow, making it a breeze to replicate.
By the way, I'm curious, what inspired you to create this farm design?
Is this design better than the previous design with circular spawn platforms? I appreciate that his is easier to build, but I'm wondering about the efficiency.
Less efficient (not enough spawnable area
Wattles said to another comment that he likes this one better because it's so much less work. Efficiency doesn't reflect only how much stuff you get out, it's weighed against the effort put in. If you want higher rates and/or a more impressive looking build, the big one might be your thing.
If you just want to build this farm with one layer of magma blocks it totally works you just many to have as good rates
Zombified Piglin: 9:48 Hi Wattles! Goodbye Wattles!
If i want to expand farm, should i expand it to up or down?
I recommend wearing frost walker boots if you have them, because they negate damage from magma blocks.
if we build more platforms do we need to go mor down??
Hey wattles, do you think its efficient to automate this farm with a wither rose ?
We don't get any XP, no looting buff but you can stay afk on it and do anything else during this time
Idk what can be better :/
Anyway, Thanks for the tutorial of the farm :)
you could set a funnel up to cause the piglins to fall into a 24+ minecart stack, to cause nice fast entity cramming deaths :D
i have java 1.20 at my laptop i applied same method at nether bedrock roof but i waited too long for piglins spawm at megma blocks, but i did not find any after 30 mints
what is problem ?
Is it square the best option in terms of efficiency. Because I like the simple desing, but i would like to make it as efficiency as posible
Any trouble shooting methods for spawn rates? It was working great until going in and out of the nether. Now spawn rates are much slower.
Absolutely love this model of gold farm. Just finished building mine. I made a few adjustments, more layers, a sorting system. I have a question though. I find that the system gets clogged very quickly. I'm afraid of losing items this way. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Same thing is happening to me I suggest putting the most gold ingots/nuggets in the first slot of the hopper so there should be 41 in the first slot and 1 in each of the other slots. Also probably adding more sorters should do the trick. I also added an automatic item dispenser at the end to remove swords and rotten flesh. There needs to be more items in the first slot of the filtering hopper cause they always take from the first slot which will prevent other items from going throught. If you produce too much gold just add more chests.
Just made this in my survival world. Works like a charm, but man was my finger hurting from shifting so long 😂🤣😂
Only thing I will adjust (later) in my world is some kind of sorting system under. Don't want to bother with the swords and might even want to discard the rotten flesh.
"Works like a charm, but man was my finger hurting from shifting so long" I helped remedy this slightly by making a decorative border around the farm, with Red, Orange and Yellow Terracotta (Red is the 1st layer, Orange is the 2nd and Yellow is the 3rd) and the corresponding stained glass around the edge
Helped alleviate the need to shift... even though I still instinctively crouch because I am over 100 blocks above the nether roof lol
note: I just finished the farm and outside of the Gold Swords clugging up my sorting system; it's working flawlessly!
For all those where the Piglins spawn but don't fall down, you must have 2 blocks of air above the Eggs
ty man
broooooo thanks almost gave up why it didnt work xD
i used another turtle egg on top of the slabs and now i dont have to shoot to z pigs 10/10 great farm
hey quick question could i build a portal all the way on the glass place so i dont have to go up/down every time?
Yeah, just place spawn proof blocks on top of the obsidian and you should be good
Farm works great on my purpur 1.20.1 server!
can we build more layers for better spawn rates? or is it specific to 3 layers? as i am assuming the drop down to the glass is only so they get to 1 hit?
more is cool!! thats exactly true with the drop
This farm still works amazingly! Quick note, if you are on a world with mob griefing off the zombie pigmen wont chase for the turtle eggs. And i found that the materials list was not entirely accurate so bring a few extra stacks of magma blocks and a few extra glass blocks aswell
