      Buffalo Staple laughed at that too. Ken straight up said that with no emotion at all like it was a real thing. But on a serious note 3 stacks is a pretty big fan of Cudi so he probably just got asked and said yeah sure because he felt the vibe of the album.

    @TheInfinitify 7 лет назад +174

    Again Myke always got the best opinions lol. By Design, ILLusions, Rose Golden, Does It, Kitchen, The Guide, Surfin' are great songs. Rose Golden is probably one of Cudi's best of his career. Sums up his entire career lyrically.
    That's a big part of whether you'll like this album. If you aren't feeling what he's saying content wise then you aren't gonna vibe with the album overall. Instrumentally there's a lot of great stuff here and again, Rose Golden is stupidly good.

But Cudi music has help me from my crazy depressing ways I had because when I hear his music it's like he's speaking to me from Top to Bottom This album was amazing to me. And he had some hits on here that radio worthy

  • @Mr8T1
    @Mr8T1 7 лет назад +31

    As a Cudi fan this is arguably one his best albums. Like all of his music it takes time to grow. He has tracks that will instantly catch on like Flight at First Sight and Surfin. But he's got a ton of sleepers on here.
    You got party Cudi, happy Cudi, love songey Cudi, sad Cudi and then experimental af Cudi. You got everything.
    As for the "too long" argument. I don't get that. I want as much music as possible from an artist who hasn't released an album with his usual sound in three years. He's coming back to his roots for the first time in a long time. I want to hear as much as that as possible.
    My dude fucking yodels on some of these songs.

Baptized in Fire, BUUUUUMPS in the whip. Flight At First Sight/ Advanced, groovy as fuck. Dance 4 Eternity and Distant Fantasies are pretty good. Kitchen, pretty corny. Cosmic Warrior, some shit only Kid Cudi could pull off lol. The Guide, 3k and Cudi both GO OFF and they're styles meshed perfectly. Surfin' is a catchy and fun tune. 8/10 for me

    Swim in the Light was a beautiful track. The album really came at the perfect time for me, and I won't lie, I did cry a bit to Swim in the Light. With that being said, this album was long as fuck for no real reason. A lot of tracks had the same kinda feel and themes. Almost as if they were duplicate tracks thrown on there to extend the album. Just unnecessary. However, because the album is long and it does sound same-y, it does make for perfect background music. It's like this, if you wanna cut the tracklist in half, and keep the good songs on there, this album would honestly be incredible and worth replaying and paying attention to on each listen. But as it is now, it stays as background music. Not an incredible album, not an awful album. But it is good, and it does give me hope for Cudi's music in the future. If I had to slap a rating on it, I'd give a 6.5 or 7.

    Don’t think some folks understand Cudi & like to resort to dismissing him. He is one of the most authentic & innovative musicians out here. Same thing happens to Lupe. Lupe is one of the greatest lyricists of all time. For whatever reason these guys are blacklisted for maintaining their own styles and experimental sounds

    I listened to this album for the first time with my homegirl in her car who is a huge fan of Cudi, she says what she loves about his lyricism is his "vulnerability", which I thought in a way mirrored what I thought of him lyrically, but I would use the word "honest" rather than vulnerable. She also said that the majority of his new stuff creates, in her exact words, "a spacey and universal feel". Personally, I don't despise his psychedelic, sometimes I can vibe to it too, but I much rather prefer when he's tryna rap instead of trying to create a mood. I think the album is good for a Cudi album if that makes sense, and honestly I feel like he could be one of the greatest ever, and even though I honestly can't listen to this entire album on repeat like that, I'm glad I listened to it and I'm still looking forward to what else he has to release musically, I just hope his next project is more hip-hop focused. Awesome review!

    I've read some posts on some forums about how Young Thug is meant to be listened to like how Myke said Cudi is. As just a part of the music itself, not as a lyricist. I started to love the JEFFERY album when I thought of it like that. Especially "Wyclef Jean."

    At this point in Cudis career it's safe to say he probably won't go back to sounding like how he was on MOTM I & II. I honestly think he just doesn't find that sound appealing anymore. An it is fine when. artists try to rekindle their sound by going back to a previous one as long as it's improved upon and refined. I think the closest thing in Cudis discography to MOTM III is Indcudi

    It was lengthy album.
    The act that I did not enjoy was the third act. Kitchen was really good from that act.
    Lyrically it wasn't impressive but Rose Golden was up there in terms of lyrics.
    It took me a while to get stuck on some songs and now I like it a lot.
